Will CP go back to Beemers?

I always thought CP's utillity trucks were GM. Beemers would be a high quality touch, though!

I think the only B&M Cedar Point would get at this point is one of their flying coasters. Other than that, unless B&M makes a different type of roller coaster, Cedar Point probably won't purchase one. One thing about them is that, Cedar Point won't build a roller coaster they already have. It took them 11 years just to rebuild a "Magnum" type coaster and even still it was different.

CP doesn't have a regular multi-looper...what about a floorless or standard sit-down B&M?

A random Mooshter's Dawntionary listing: Innoculatte [v.] - to take coffee intraveneously when running late.

Makes sense. If CP is still in "record-breaking" mode, they could always go for 11 or more inversions. But Intamin could probably do it cheaper and just as reliably as B&M.

Will Cedar Point's new flyer be called Batman or Superman? ;)

I'd hope that CP would use the Snoopy vs. the Red Barron thing to its advantage if and when a flyer ever goes in there.

They already have one...Wildcat....well the rolling stock looks like little beemers right? ;)

The whole Batman/Superman thing is a Six Flags trademark... Not B&M.

Who here has ever been on a Rock n' Roll ride at a carnival. For those of you who have, check it out. Take the cars from one of those (similar to a laundrymat dryer) and throw it on the chassis for Woodstock express. Viola! Instant inversion record! ;)

I think we'll definitely see a B&M within the next year or two. I really don't think it's because of the reliability issue, because I don't see them getting a coaster bigger than TTD in the near future. If CP's lacking, its probably in the inversions, as they only have about half as many as the top parks. Because of this, I think a big floorless would be a good option because you could throw 8 or so inversions in there. I guess they could get an Intamin looper, but I'd rather have 8 B&M inversions with a floorless train than 10 or 11 Intamin inversions, a third of which would just be inline twists.

Now you're talking, janfrederick!

But I'd have to think the Magnum arlready comes close.

My guess for the next coaster is B&M flyer where the antique cars in frontiertown are. That section of the park really needs a new ride. Definitely some type of steel in that section of the park.

A mid-sized woodie on the beach that runs next to the parking lot and behind Disaster Transport. There is still a need to improve that area of the park. I would rather see a good woodie go in but a flyer in my area would be nice.

A good wooden coaster is what Cedar Point really needs. Sure, we have Mean Streak (ouch) and Gemini (woof), but they aren't that great. When I was there last, I was waiting in line for Wicked Twister and I mentioned to my friend that a wooden coaster would look cool on the beach behind Disaster Transport. However, I do agree with you coastinguy that a quality ride needs to go in Frontiertown.
DragsterFAN - Gemini isn't a wooden coaster, it's steel. It has wooden supports, but a steel track.

I think the whole thing with inversions is getting very old. So what if you can go upside down in a different number of ways. I perdict CP will not build a new coaster for at least a few years. But the next coaster should be wood. As I said before, a wooden (out-and-back) can run down the east side of the main parking lot with the station situated at the south end of DT.

YOUNGSTOWN 2010

I would expect Cedar Point to get a B&M flyer for 2005. Why? I don't know. It would fit the minor "pattern" of following up SFGAm's rides with a similar ride within a couple years, e.g. Batman - Raptor, Raging Bull - MF, V2 -WT (OK so Iron Wolf - Mantis didn't work, and I can't picture a GIB in CP's future). But it would obviously be relatively easy for CP to break most of the records for flyers, and we know how much CP likes their records.

This prediction brought to you by the ice cream of ... um... the past?

The inversion record wouldn't be very hard to break, and considering that Cedar Point would probably want something unique, I don't think consecutive in-line twists would be a problem. There are plenty of DIFFERENT inversions that can add up to +10. In one coaster you could have up to, but not limited to, 11 inversions with all different elements:

Cobra Roll (2)
Vertical Loop (1)
Dive Loop (1)
Sea Serpent (2)
Immelman (1)
Bowtie (2)
In-line Twist (1)
Corkscrew (1)

Simple enough really, nothing too expensive or complicated. And in my opinion, most of the sit-down loopers in Ohio are less than average, so an Intamin/B&M looper would be a nice addition.
