Who thinks CP will get a 4D?

A 4d does not use standard arrow track, it has 2 extra rails on it which control the spinning. I beleive it is quite a bit more expensive thena  normal ride of its calibur.

Second, I don't see CP getting one either....

I think if it goes over well enough that CP may consider one.  I agree with what Legendary said,
"The 4-D has at least one thing going for it that CP would like -- capacity. X is capable of running three trains of 28 passengers, just like most Arrow loopers. SFMM states a theoretical capacity of 1,600pph. That's better than what Millennium Force did this summer, 'm sure. So if that figure is true, 4-D's look quite attractive to larger corporate parks who need to move people through the turnstyles. "

Well not technically. Six Flags Magic Mountain erected, tested, and opened their Thrill Shot first, before the Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm VertiGo(s). So again, Magic Mountain takes another hit in prototype innovation.

To correct you, Cedar Point's Absoultly Insane Was build first. It was built as the prototype in Logan Utah at the S&S plant. The model that is at CP is the model that was used for testing at S&S... ;)

This was way before the whole X "catastrophe"...hell, there was only track and supports on the ground at that time. A lot of stuff has changed in 9 months. Including info leaks and hints at waht CP WILL get.

-------------
Mayday - Memorial Day Weekend - Nonpoint, Nickelback, Oleander, Staind
Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

CP have to get the woody first before a 4D coaster to make up for that pathetic ride called Meanstreak!!

Long live SFMM 'The Best Coaster Park on the Planet by far'!!

Dont dream it, ride it!!

A 4d would rock! And I do agree....CP is compeeting with PKI and SFWOA...not MM!

Why would you say that(just curious)?
CP has a history with Arrow.
Who cares? Really...I mean, who cares?

CP's getting an impulse this year (a better one at that) and before it has even opened, everyone's already wondering what they're getting next? I mean, please...

I know, it's just speculation, but please, let them finish what they've already started!

Because they got an Impulse, look at when jeff said that, it was a year ago.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?
In my opinion, Cedar Point would be smart to get a 4D.  Not saying that they will, but X is incredible, and I'm sure that Cedar Point could take the prototype and expand on it.  While X is amazing, it seems to me that the sky is the limit for the 4th dimension coaster...

Just like with Raptor expanding on B:TR and Wicked Twister one-upping V2 and S:UE, Cedar Point could do it again with the 4th Dimension coaster!

If they get a floorless, I want it to be a launched one (LIM). I don't want CP to copy SFO.

Well, eventually Cedar Point decided on Wicked Twister. Which, is just pretty much a bigger "copy" of Superman: UE.  So much for the copying idea huh Martling?  :)  I'm not trying to put Cedar Point down or anything though.  (God knows I'll get the firing squad for that on this sight )  It is a great park and I had a blast there.  I'm just saying that NO park comes up with ALL original rides that no other park in the world already has.  Last time I checked the first ever wooden and steel coasters weren't standing at Cedar Point.

I think that all the arguing on here about which park is better and whatever else is just childish.  Personally, I could care less which parks have what, or who copied what from who.  As long as I get to ride all of them, I don't really care.......

Thank you Koppman...It doesn't matter what CP or MM gets this year, next year or 10 years from now.  All that matters is that we can ride them aa.  If you have your favorites then so be it but don't put someone else down just because they like something different then you.  Honestly, when was the last time you walked into CP or MM and were asked where you live, what your favorite park was, and why you were there.  The parks don't care so why should we?
Jon: I was asked those very self same questions when I went to SFGAm in August of 2000. Also *whenever* I buy a ticket @ the ticket booth at *any* of the parks I've been to in the last 3 years they always ask for a zip code (where I live) that way they can market "We bring in people from all 50 states and 12 different countries" (or somthing like that).

The parks *do* care (at least to some extent)

I think that CP stands a chance for a 4-D coaster but I also think that they stand a chance for a B&M Flying coaster.  I would rather see the 4-D but who cares.  Just remember CP always takes whats out there and  make it 10 times better.  CP wouls be a great canidate for a 4-D just look at all the attention its getting in the news!
I can see SFWOA getting this 4-d Coaster before CP.  Personally they have enough steel , Cp needs some good woodies to balance out their coaster collection. I'll have to call Miss cleo to find out.  but whatever they get , CP will always be # 1  in my book

I just think it's *hilarious* that I was commending Arrow for their "1,600pph" on the 4-D, when, so far, I don't think it's been over 600pph.

I really, really, REALLY hope they work out those problems!

"That's BS you MF! They're WT!" -- CP's R&D team

CPMan2: from what I hear CP really f'ed up on Mean Streak.  nobody's perfect.  CP is just another regional park that is somewhat recognized throughout the world.  if you come to Chicago and talk about CP, the majority of the people will look at you like you're insane because SFGA is the only park in the world to them.  same goes for anywhere in the world that you go to that has a regional park.  the only parks that are known by the majority of the people across the globe are the Orlando parks and they aren't regional parks.  CP is just another regional park that enthusiasts unfairly use as an example for all other parks.  I'm not saying that CP is a bad park, I'm not saying that CP is a good park.  I've never even been there.  but I do know that its no different from any other regional park and will operate along similar guidelines.  and why was this topic brought up again after a whole freaking year?

Knott's Berry Farm Cuba ~South Park
Don't look for a 4d or AIR coaster at CP before 2006.
I honestly don't think they'll even get close to 1,600 for awhile. It's not that the ride ops aren't doing they're job, but the butterfly restraint system is a bit tricky and passengers will not have much of a clue how they work. You basically have to place your arms through the double breasted restraint, then pull down so that it fits comfortably over your particular body size. This is where the problem lies IMO. In addition, to load the seats need to be moved to the upright position, they move VERY slow, so that's an extra 10 seconds lost. Oh well, maybe by late summer this thing will have an ok capacity.
