Who thinks CP will get a 4D?

The 4-D has at least one thing going for it that CP would like -- capacity. X is capable of running three trains of 28 passengers, just like most Arrow loopers. SFMM states a theoretical capacity of 1,600pph. That's better than what Millennium Force did this summer, I'm sure. So if that figure is true, 4-D's look quite attractive to larger corporate parks who need to move people through the turnstyles.

And for some reason, it seems like all CEO's of amusement parks think the same way. And that is totally opposite of what most of US think or "GUESS".

We have 2 "Magic Mountain's" here in Columbus...granted, they have go-carts and mini-golf!

The reason CEO's think the same way, the opposite of what most of us think or guess, is probably called shareholders. Parks have to generate profits for the people who've invested in the company. Which sometimes means building three or four coasters to generate a spike in attendance, and hopefully a spike in in-park spending, and other times means building new campground facilities to pull in more overnight guests. It's easy enough to sit around and say this park should build ride XYZ to beat that park, we don't have to figure out to pay for the new ride or justify it to our board or shareholders.
I think it might depend on what Six Flags does with it. If they are satisfied with the ride they will probably send one to SFO in 02 or 03 just to shove it down CP throat. But if SF doesn't do that then i think CP will eventually get one.
I love the 4D. CP has a bit of a chance of getting one, and I hope they do. But their history of new rides shows they don't take chances on prototpye coasters.

Personally I like the Tilt coaster much better!

I don't think CP will get one unless it does really well at SFMM. Not that I care cause I would rather see a CCI and a sit-down B&M looper for 2002!

I wouldn't take a chance on a prototype either. I would atleast like to know what I am getting.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
Tilt coaster? Looks pretty damn dangerous. The tilt coaster is not really innovative, if you think about it. It just has a track that moves..just a another way of getting the trains to the scariest position. This will only increase the chances of a very tragic mishap.
I think the Tilt coaster is neater than the 4D. But thats just my opinion.

I don't think CP would add a coaster of this type.
It just seems a little to intense for a park like CP.
I think we'll be seeing a launched coaster of sometype and a B&M floorless in the near future.
I think CP has a great chance of getting one if X works.

Keep the Magnum Supports, retrack it with 4d track, voila! A good 4d!

Millennium Force: The 8th Wonder of the World!
that would be so awesome to see a 4d there. Even though it probably won't happen, Cedar Point is awesome and this would just make it so much better.

Millennium Force....it has its ups and downs.
Well boy, where do I start... IntaminAGfan, VertiGo was a Prototype so that proves that theory incorect. Another thing is how is a tilt SOOOO Dangrous? and third I doubt CP will get a 4D EVER florless chances are low and unless S&S can fix their problem with their coaster in japan they probaly wont get that either.

Listen people! CP is not competing with MM for more coasters, they are competing with SFWOA and PKI for a better experience. Knott's is competing with MM (Although they have a strange way of showing it and absoloutley need a steel monster.

I have a photographic memory... I just forgot to put film in.
CP needs a good standard looping coaster. a sitdown one or floorless... that would be a nice addition. i dont think CP will have a 4D anytime soon.
Hmm, an LIM 4D might be interesting...

Obviously it's not a 4D! Just look at all of the hints so far. I don't know why we keep speculating other types of coasters when its been narrowed down so much. A B&M, S&S, and Arrow are already out of the picture.

Well not technically. Six Flags Magic Mountain erected, tested, and opened their Thrill Shot first, before the Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm VertiGo(s). So again, Magic Mountain takes another hit in prototype innovation.
