I am the self-contained freak show. Still fun at parties. A little unemployed, but hoping to be self-employed. Programmer, friend to animals (the kind that don't bite), Coke drinker. JO volleyball coach. Industry wannabe. Husband (with a very tolerant wife).

Let's see I'm a 25 year old, newlywed, recent law school graduate who just moved from Portland, Oregon to Columbus, Ohio. I'm originally from St. Louis and avidly follow the St. Louis sports teams (the Blues are the biggest love of my life, other than my wife). We have several pets and my wife is currently in vet school. My hobbies include scuba diving, skiing, hiking and getting down to my favorite bands. I go to several shows a month with my favorite bands being the Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese Incident, moe., Widespread Panic, Soulive, MMW, Vinyl, Galactic, Herbie Hancock, James Brown, Parliament/Funkadelic, Bela Fleck, Leftover Salmon, David Grisman and anything else that has great grooves and lots of improv. I'm pretty much an environmentalist who loves getting into good arguments (that's the lawyer in me). No matter how harsh I may come across at times on this board, I'm a good natured guy who would love to get together with some of you 'buzzers'. Millrace, you listening? Peace
Just realized that I posted on this topic back in July, Oops. Might as well add that I'm seriously addicted to the Simpsons, love science (geology major in college) and geography (minor in college).

SEE YA LATTER
-----------------
My name is Ray and I am 31 years old. I live in Mentor, Ohio (about 20 miles east of Cleveland) and work for a major insurance company in the area as a systems tester. It's pretty dry work, but I have great co-workers and an excellent boss who actually cares about her employees (and no, they don't read this board!). I'm a major video game geek with my PS2 getting a lot of attention recently, but I still don't own an XBox or GameCube. I need a new PC first!
I've been on 116 coasters altogether and have been to about 34 parks. I'm a huge Browns fan and like Dave above, I also am a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan. There's nothing quite like being at the Air Canada Centre for a game with 18,500 people who are actually into the game. It's a far cry from the 2,500 people that show up for minor-league hockey here in C-town.
Listed below are some of my favorite things:
* Favorite Wood Coaster: Twister- Knoebels, PA
* Favorite Steel Coaster: Millennium Force- Cedar Point, OH
* Favorite Flat Ride: Bayern Kurve- Kennywood, PA
* Favorite Flume: Splash Mountain- Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom, FL
* Favorite Dark Ride: Pirates of the Caribbean- Disneyland, CA
* Favorite Dark Thrill Ride: Indiana Jones Adventure- Disneyland, CA
* Favorite Music: my CD tower runs the gamut from angry music like Machine Head, Soulfly, Type O Negative and Fear Factory, to Disney soundtracks, to cheesy 80's music like Rick Springfield and Duran Duran, to lots of today's popular "nu-metal" like Linkin Park, P.O.D, Tool, etc.
* Favorite Food: anything deep fried, with chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks leading the pack. Mmmm... grease! :)
* Favorite Movies: "Star Wars", "Forrest Gump", "Rain Man", "Empire Strikes Back", "The Lion King" and my current favorite "Office Space". "Yeah...... we're gonna need you to come in on Saturday......... yeah......... that would be great....."
* Other interests: watching lots of TV, shopping, hanging out with my friends and girlfriend on the weekends, and my one major addiction- video poker and slot machines.

ProgRay,
I'm gonna have to ask you to move your desk to the basement.... :)
Dave Fenwick,
How 'bout that Suns vs Raptors game last week! :(
It's interesting that this topic was started in July and many posts were from younger kids, but since its ressurrection here in December there are a lot more adults. Nice to learn a bit about all of ya. My post is a few pages back.

Location: Wickliffe, OH
When I'm not at Cedar Point, pushing produce at Heinen's, doing inventory or standing behind my camera I can be found infront of my computer or gasp I say this enjoying the dancing scene. Even though I can't dance ( and Jeff has video to prove it) I am learning and getting better. I am working on going back to school in January and to get my degree in PR. I am a huge fan of various kinds of music and my horizons are always getting bigger. My favorite bands include Pink Floyd, Metallica, ICP, Nirvana, DMB, STP, Green Day, Blink 182 No Doubt, and thanks to Jeff I am getting into Lords of Acid. I have a huge passion for photography and that big red roller coaster at Cedar Point. I also love Mike's Hard Lemonade and Jim Beam with Coke.
Random stupid things:
Pulp Fiction is my favorite movie
The Magnum will always be my baby
The Simpsons is my favorite TV show
I don't need an x-box or game cube I got my original Nintendo!
Yes I have a tattoo of Cedar Point on my right arm

In any case, I still am Michael Lyster, age 38, and still live in Toronto working with the homeless/crazy/crack addicts. My wife and fellow coaster-fiend writes/produces movies and television - her current show, "Our Hero" airs Friday nights on the CBC (Canada's national broadcaster).
We just sold our house and bought a new one; in what little free time I have I try to be a good Canuck by playing hockey and drinking beer. That's winter, anyway; the summer we hit the road and visit as many parks as we can - we're looking forward to our first coaster trip to Europe this spring ...

I'm Michael, from Long Island, NY - and I'll be 21 in just a few hours. . . .
I'm a third year mechanical engineering student at SUNY Stony Brook, and I'm pursuing a career in themed entertainment design and show/ride systems.
In my 'spare time,' I mentor high school students in a national robotics competition called US FIRST, which was started by that guy who invented the Segway HT :) We compete annually at Walt Disney World. I'm also halfway decent at graphic design and illustration, and I have an unending love affair with architecture. On the humanities end of things, I am interested in gender studies and history, mostly.
Erm. . . I guess that's it. Oh! I have a cat, too. I don't like it, though.

Age: just about 15 (Jan, 27)
my porpoise: When I'm not screaming my head off on roller coasters (summer) I am most of the time in sports. I play inline Hockey, volleyball, track, and lacrosse. When I'm not doing any of these things I am here, or building my model roller coaster (info for pic), which is still not done yet. Oh...and then there is school, but who cares about that?
favorite bands: Linkin Park, 311, Sum 41, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, and Stained (just to name a few)
favorite TV shows: just about anything with hockey in it, WWF, ALF (yes, its still on, and YES I DO WATCH IT), and a lot of cartoons (Little brother and sisters;))
That's about it.... and Oh, and I am single;)

http://www.columbusinline.cjb.net/ -My second obsession
First Wooden Coaster: Jack Rabbit at Idora Park, OH.
First Steel: Corkscrew at Cedar Point, OH.
Favorite Wooden: The Beast at Kings Island (Haven't gotten to ride Son of Beast yet; have a hard time with the looping wooden coaster concept - gotta see it to believe it!).
Favorite Steel: Tie between Top Gun at PGA & Goliath at SFMM & Stealth at PGA. Top Gun is an awesome ride, but Goliath is the only coaster to almost make me black out! And flipping face down to the ground on Stealth scares the h*** out of me but I love it! Of course, I have yet to ride Millenium Force (that'll happen next year).
Going to Ohio & PA next year to visit family & Kennywood & Cedar Point!
