I obviously love to ride roller coasters, but I a nice big theme park does it best for me(Disney, Universal, Busch)!! My favorite coaster park is SFGAm, because I think they have the best variety for any of my coaster needs :). My favorite wooden coaster is HW's Legend and favorite steel coaster is SROS at SFNE.
About as much as coasters, I love watching movies and listening to music! Makes even more things to do with friends. My favorite type of movies are comedies and for music, I can listen to anything that's on, especially pop, rock, and R&B. Some of my favorite movies are American Beauty, Chicken Run, Erin Brockovich, Meet the Parents, Monty Python, Monsters Inc., Office Space, Toy Story 2, Three Colors: Red(french), and Run Lola Run(german). I really need to be exposed and remember some of the older movies out there. Bands I really like would be Matchbox 20, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jars of Clay, Alicia Keys, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Ja Rule, Dixie Chicks, System of a Down, U2, and oh yeah, Britney Spears. I don't know if that shows the variety I like or my bad taste in music.
For free time(wait, what's free time??), I like doing all of the above minus school of course, plus going to the mall(and Best Buy!!), playing video games(GameCube, 64, PS, whatever), surfing the net, basketball, football, bowling, watching TV(Friends, Raymond, SNL, Leno), doing more with my friends, and family(my mom's the best!! :)), and a lot of other things I can't remember at the moment.
Merry Christmas everyone!! Less than 2 weeks away!!

*Danny, who needs to say his "Cedar Point sucks!" for the day, and put in my free adventisement for Paramount's Kings Island is the best!!!
*that was a joke for those who don't know how to take one without flat out being told* ;)
My first steel coaster was batman the ride, at the age of 10! (yikes). My first wooden coaster was rolling thunder, but that wasnt bad. My fav. coasters would have to be NITRO, S:ROS (sfne), kraken, and alpengeist.

I'm an Operations Manager in a manufacturing facility.
My 8 year old little girl keeps me laughing non-stop the way she mispronounces or creates things (i.e. Vampire State Bldg., and when she doesn't want to wear shorts, she wants "long sleeve pants").
My cat is allergic to fleas.....no kidding.
My birthday is 12/26..........what a rip off.
Being thirty-something has turned out to be great.....I look back and think "How did I ever survive my twenties!? Was I crazy...." Oh...sorry, never mind. When you are young you think you are invincible.
My boyfriend and I have the greatest time riding coasters together........we are usually the first ones at the park and the last ones to leave. We ride non-stop til they kick us out. We are trying so hard to recruit Little Munchkin into a coaster rider, but are being met with some resistance. She loves Scooby Doo, but otherwise thinks we have lost our minds.
Thanks for reading........I feel better now.
I am into travel, football and hoops, and thoroughly enjoy an hour or so on the racquetball court. I prefer the traditional parks for the atmosphere, but love the rides at the big themers too. As you might have noticed, I am a WOODEN coaster fanatic - hence my "other" name, gatorwoodie (since retired into the history of coasterbuzz). For those of you who attend events, we ID ourselves sometimes as "Bill and Jill from Gainesville".
I am into coaster history and theming BIGTIME. Finally, I am looking forward to CoasterCon XXV like it was Christmas, New Year's and my birthday all rolled into one...and hope to meet up with some buzzers there!
Favorite designers: Schmeck, CCI, Intamin, and Anton Schwartzkopf (with whom I share a b-day)...

I am 29 years old (for 3 more days) decidedly single and live in Louisville KY. My official job title is "Midwest Director of Ticketing" for Clear Channel Theatricals. My company is responsible for bringing National Touring Companies of Broadway shows to local markets such as Columbus, Cincinnati etc etc. etc. I oversee the ticketing and operational issues for all of our midwest markets.
I did not like my first coaster ride, the Scooby Doo at Kings Dominion in 1978. I did not ride another until 1981 when my parents took me to King's Island. I rode the Beastie and thought it ok. But that same day, my Father and I stood and marveled at the Bat. I would not ride (something I regret to this day) but I was amazed. Within the next year I rode Loch Ness Monster and became hooked.
My count is currently just under 210 coasters. My #100 was Leap The Dips and my # 200 was Martin's Silver Comet. My favortie woodie is Legend, my favorite steel is Superman at SFNE.
I also love flat rides and become more and more fascinated with Carousels with each passing day. I think they are truly the heart of a park.
I have been employed at three different parks: BGW, PKI and SFKK. My favorite park is easily PKI because it is what started my fascination and has created wonderful friendships and memories for me.
I am an ACE member, not in an active role. Outside of coasters, my main hobby is collecting Batman items. I have over 300 Batman Action Figures still in box all displayed in a special room set aside just for my collection. It's heck to dust.
That is waaaaay more than many wanted to know, but just about sums it up. Oh, if you can't tell I am opinionated and blunt, I prefer to be do and prefer people to be direct with me. As a whole I am a big kid at heart...imagine Tom Hanks in "Big" and you will have a pretty good idea of my personality.
Photo is on my profile page.

I'm not much of a drinker, I'm afraid :). . . . that's not to say that I'm not curious to give it all a whirl, but it's not something I've been looking forward to or anything. . .

I'm John, I'm 21 years old, live in Pittsburgh, PA and Wadsworth, OH. Mechanical Engineering student at Carnegie Mellon with a robotics minor.
I'm not a rollercoaster nut, I'm really not. I'm an anything mechanical nut. Things I've built this year include a hypercompliant walking robot (it's flexible AND cute, almost makes me wish I wasn't already engaged... well maybe not), and a 45 foot long 16 foot high 20 foot wide whale with an 8' wide 16' long slide inside, (i'll get a pic somewhere sometime). Other non-rollercoaster related things I do include making an online game (I do the graphics, it's free to be a peasant and we've been running continuosly for five years now. Check it out www.illusorystudios.com. It is a 170 meg download sadly.
So what brings me to coasterbuzz? I have this engineering analysis project next semester that basically goes like this. "Many people really like rollercoasters. No one has a personal version. Why not? Design to fix problem" So I figured this was as good a place as any to find coaster nuts whose trust I will slowly gain and then sell their organs... I mean gauge reactions and feasibility of various hypothetical designs. Damn, just blew my cover.
