Which park is the most notorious for line jumping?

Thas why you need to have your boys as backative when you try to be brave. It worked for me

While I was there SFGAm was by far the worst I've ever seen at line jumping. Every few minutes there would be someone doing the "excuse me, my group is up there" thing. To me it makes no difference whether or not someone's group is in the line -- you get out, you lose your spot, 'nuff said. The group should come back if it's that important to stay together. But enough ranting...

Anyway, I've heard that they've gotten a lot better with enforcing rules now. Heck, they even stop people from smoking in line now, and that was always a MUCH worse problem than line jumping at SFGAm. But now it seems that they are one of the better parks at maintaining order in the lines.

Six Flags Great Adventure

SFGAm for me, though I haven't been to that many parks. Who cares if your group is ahead? If you wanted to ride so bad why didn't you stay with your group? Anyway, nothing huge when it comes to line jumping in my experiences.

At SFNE I was in line for the front seat for Mind Eraser. I had my arm against the wall and two little kids went right under my arm!!!!!!!! I wasn't going to say anything though because they were only like 8 or 9.

Also at SFNE in line for Superman there was a guy in front of me that had friends who weren't in line. His friends went right under the railings to catch up!

S:RoS ( SFNE ) is #1!

Well, I won't start telling all the horror stories about the atrocious line-jumping at SFA, but I will say that it hit an epitomy of disgusting this past friday evening as I watch three guys talking to a S:RoS ride op and as they talked to him, they went under the rail, shook hands with the ride op, continued talking, and then got on one train later. Needless to say, I was pretty ticked off...and I made sure to fill out a complaint at guest relations with that ride ops name right on it.

A little security can go a long way to preventing line-jumping, but when it is condoned by employees, it will only get worse. As you can tell, my vote goes to SFA.

Happy Coastering!

"Have fun stormin' the castle!"

When I went to Six Flags Astroworld a few years ago..it was pretty bad. I was standing in line for Batman:The Escape and these girls were breaking in line and this guy finally said "Hey I was here first", and the girl said something like "Well I'm not waiting forever to ride this ride"...basically she thought she was the queen of Houston or something and that everyone would give in to her demands. Anyway...at Carowinds - which is my home park- it's pretty bad as well. Especially for Top Gun.

All I can think when I read these posts is...why haven't you done anything about it? If somebody jumps the line, you have three options. 1) Confront the jumper yourself. If it's a young kid or a teenager, this generally does the trick. 2) Ask one of the ride ops to notify security. 3) Do nothing and watch your wait get 10 minutes longer. If you're going to do option 3, don't complain.

The more times people see other people ejected from the park, the fewer times they'll be likely to try it.

No love for the whiners

For my homepark SFWOA, surprisingly it isn't bad.

#1 Steel-Nitro
#1 Wood-Shivering Timbers

SFWoA not bad? Uh, what SFWoA are you talking about? Certainly not the one I've ever visited ...

Wood - #1 Thunderbolt, #2 Villain, #3 Beast

SFMM-if youve been you know it is the Line-Jumping capitol of Six Flags, at least the west coast. I was the 2nd person in the pre-queue for X and about 30 people just went into the empty queue for about 5 minutes until they either got turned around or realized it was closed, so they just cut in front of me. People are just stupid at that park, they'll walk up the exits or something clever like that.

However the linecutting wasnt the dumbest thing i saw on my trip, in Mission Viejo (sp) a skater fell, and almost fell into this huge sewer thing, funniest thing ive ever seen.

Actually, I dont think that SFWoA is bad at all. Each of my visits to the northern Ohio region since 2000 have seen more line jumpers @ "that park up north" than SFWoA.

But my vote goes to SFA. I pretty much wont go near the lines if they are going to be anymore than lik 15-20 min because I know people are going to get frustrated and start cutting, which in turn gets other people frustrated, and on and on (vicious cycle).

To be honest, I can tolerate line jumping much better at parks like CP, SFGAm and SFGAdv where the line is moving anyway. It's when the lines stagnate that *really* irks people. Even @ SFA, people cut line ALL the time on S:ROS, but if they are running two trains, nobody gets mad. But let them be only running one train. Heads are apt to roll!

But I'm a scofflaw as well so I dont get too worked up about things.

One time when I was at SFGAm in line for Viper, a dad and his little 5 year old son said "excuse me, we have to catch up to the rest of our group" so of course I let them cut, but the thing was, they weren't going to catch up with the rest of their group. I noticed them walk right up into the station, and they were off the ride in about 5 minutes. Great example to teach your 5 year old son that line cutting is acceptable.

Hey, I had a guy with his son try to do this to me, too. At SFGAm in Viper's line. I wonder if it's the same guy? He said the "kid's mother is up front in line". I said "That's nice. Call her and she can come back here because you're not going up there." He called me an a--hole and I said that may be true but your still not cutting in line. He shut up.

All you have to do is look at the cities these places are in. Magic Mountain is near LA, Great Adventure is near New York, Great America is near Chicago, and America is near DC. That explains it all, doesn't it?

No, I'm afraid that doesn't explain anything to me. I don't care where a park is located, enforce your policys and properly staff security at all the major rides where this is likely to happen, and solve the problem.

Sheesh, my grandmother would cut if she knew she could sit and have a ice cream, then join her party at the front of the line, without ANY park enforced rules.

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

All I'm saying is that these cities are more notorious for crime and shady individuals. That's not an opinion. That's a fact. So, those same types of people would also be present in the parks.

But the people who line jump aren't always shaddy people(as you call them), they're regular people who think the rules don't apply to them, and the parks don't help by not taking extreme measures with these people.

Sorry, I don't have time to do a background check on line cutters and they're social or racial status. All I know is some idiot is trying to cut in front of me, and the park does absolutely nothing.

Hell, I've seen ACE members line cut VERY recently...

SFGAD, SFWOA and Dorney..all tied with me..mostly teenagers line jumping...
I don't think location really affects it, it comes down to the employees and how they deal with problems.

Looking at this thread, I don't see any Disney or Busch parks mentioned. These are the two big park chains that probably have the best staff reputation (for dealing with customers, keeping the park clean & family friendly, etc.).
