Which 6 SF parks are getting new rides.

VolcanoTBC said again...:

Oh my, you're about as logical as Dawgbyte...

Sure, I'm illogical... Six Flags America got good rides... they got a coasters like mad since 1999... and doesn't even go in the same LEAGUE as Darien Lake, so you're SOOOOOO wrong to even compare me as being illogical as others comparing Six Flags America.

How does that make me illogical when Darien Lake's so-called improvements since 1999 include the following:

1999- Superman: Ride of Steel (Added)
- Batman Stunt show (Added)
- Crazy Quilts (removed)
- Nightmare @ Phantom Cave (removed)
2000- Twister flat (Added)
2001- Winter Treasures gift shop (Added, but closed in 2003)
- "Family camping designated area" (added)
2002- Slingshot park model upcharge attraction (added)
- TurboBungee ripoff upcharge (added)
- Shipwreck Falls (added)
- Cascade Canyon slides (removed)
2003- Shipwreck Falls squirt guns (just like every single other Six Flags park did) (added).
2004- Nothing.

Where does this even compare to being illogical? That's the detailed list of what's added & taken out... who the hell cares about upcharge attractions. Like I said... EVERYTIME I've been at SFDL last season & the season before, there were maybe 1 or 2 people using the TurboBungee at MOST (sometimes empty), and a few using the Slingshot. Again, that counts for like less than 10% of the total guests who want to ride that, and even less who WILL pay to ride it. I never mentioned Sky Coaster. That's still as popular as ever... I have no problem with that & never brought up any beef with that.

Do you even know what you're talking about? This park is a joke... you probably haven't even visited it in years. Nobody at C-Buzz is going to go out of their way to travel to SFDL when their homepark is anything but....
...why? BEcause they know it as much as I know it... the park has no quantity... and no quality... period!

On a 2nd note... I wish VTBC could agree with you, Moosh... because I can't seem to get it thru his/her head!! :-/

Actually, if you check his profile you will see he lives in a little town called Buffalo, NY. But a pretty good breakdown of rides at SFA the past few years none the less.

Actually, BATWINGFANSFA was who he was responding to, not DawgByte. And Batwingfan doesn't have a town listed in his info (assuming he's a SFA local since that's what he's calimed for the past few years).

OMG I have a new sig!!!

You've got Coasterdude attempting to justify the means for your park, and I have this VolcanoTBC jumping down my ass whenever I "@ttEmPT [sic] t0 [sic] JU$+1phy [sic] h0w [sic] TH3 [sic] p4rK [sic] h4$ [sic] j1pP3D [sic] US [sic] Y34r [sic] 4PHt3R [sic] ye4r. [sic]"--Oh I'm sorry, VTBC, did I speak in a foreign language there? I guess you aren't one of the L33T [sic].

And I guess you aren't one of those people blessed with intelligence.

You're the only one saying how this park is sooo [sic] great and doesn't need any attractions.... that it could milk out anudder [sic] 10 years before recieving [sic] anything new.

Actually, I never said they could go another 10 years without receiving a new ride. Try to stay with me this time. I'll speak really slowly and use 6th-grade level words.

I said they could go longer than most parks because they have other ways to bring people to their property.

Have you even been to the park in the past three years? From the sounds of it... no. This park has MORE problems than Astroworld, that have never been addressed such as stinky & unclean bathrooms, lightbulbs not functioning correctly, down-time on certain rides (more excessively than normal), excessive ASS-BACKWARDS [sic] metal detectors at useless check-points, paint jobs falling to hell, and single train operation on busy days.

Yes, I have. There's a metal detection checkpoint at the front gate, just like nearly every other park in the country. There are metal detection checkpoints between the theme park and the camping resort so people don't bring hazardous items into the theme park from the camping resort.

And I've heard people complain about bathrooms, paint jobs, down-time, single train operation, and lightbulbs for EVERY PARK IN THE COUNTRY.

The park suxxorz [sic]!!1!11! I'm getting my season pass there. I'll continue to go there, because it's my local park & they have the best deal for season passes that are good at all other Six Flags properties which I also goto... but unlike most parks, you can see AND do everything at SFDL in less than half a day. There's no reason to go early, because parking isn't that bad, and lines are even less of a problem.

There you go being hypocritical again. The park "suxxorz [sic]" but you claim to be a fan? Go away.

The only redeeming value the park has is the laser show at the end of the day. That has always been A+ since they debuted in the early 90's, and seem to always carry over...

But I'm confused, since you said the only redeeming value the park has is the flowers they plant...

...which is why this park pisses me off even more. It's got some great features, but the overall value of the park is wasted with the lack of attractions.

It has some great features? But you just said the only redeeming value the park has is the Laser Show. And before that you said the only redeeming factor the park has is the flowers/landscaping.

We've had basically the same old rides (mainly from Huss, since SFDL used to be the Huss testing grounds) since the early 80's. Our only modern FLAT ride is the Huss Top Spin. All our other rides are old and dated. If you visited the park in 1988, you wouldn't find any newer flats in 2004 except Twister & an old Scrambler.

Would you like some cheese with that?

How is that making this park such a great park, VTBC? It's pathetic! A campground is fine... but being attached to the amusement park isn't all that great of a deal. I've walked thru [sic] the campground during the middle of the summer taking some photographs, and half of the campers were at the campground vs. in the park... I'm betting half the hotel guests are doing the same... either enjoying the pools or just chilling out.

We stay for 4 days and 3 nights when I take my family to camp at the park. We never leave Darien Lake's property. And you know what? We never get bored, either. We go in, ride a few rides, go back to the campground and eat lunch, then go back into the park and enjoy the wave-pool, come back and eat dinner, go back into the park and ride some more rides, then enjoy the laser show before settling down to a nice campfire. We do this for 4 days and have a great vacation. So you know what? There may not be a lot to do from your enthusiast, backward, illogical, spoiled-brat, Star-Wars-nerd, Comic-Book-Guy-from-the-Simpsons point of view, but the park DOES have great entertainment values.

The park has its high points, but the low points FAR FAR outweigh their low points... and if you've ever been to Worlds of Adventure, Canada's Wonderland, New England, Cedar Point, Dorney Park, Great Escape for cryin' out loud.... you'll see that this park is in dire need of help!

You know what? I've been to all those parks, plus about 35 others, and I feel that Darien Lake is better operated than Worlds of Adventure and New England, and FAR better than Dorney Park. Dorney Park adds new attractions on a regular basis, but I don't care. The park has no soul, no trees, and does not keep me busy. And, like I said, Darien Lake is not the same kind of park as Cedar Point or Canada's Wonderland.

Why can't you get it thru [sic] head that this park (along with a couple of other select parks) were starting to show true potential, then just went down the pits shortly after they were branded, or just after a certain period of time (Not sure what Astroworlds [sic] story is). There are many many other peeps that would agree with me... you are the only one who seems to disagree.

Because my goal is to make enthusiast brats like yourself look like jerks. That's exactly how the parks see you. I'm not your typical enthusiast. I am familiar with the industry-side of things. I don't get upset when parks don't follow Cedar Point's pattern of adding multi-million dollar attractions every other year.

And you know what? The only thing all your whining and complaining does is discourage other people from visiting Darien Lake. I'm sure a lot of people come to Coasterbuzz to look for thoughts and opinions on theme parks they may potentially visit. Your constant drivel does nothing but turn people away from Darien Lake, which means the park is even less-likely to add a shiny new roller coaster for you to get your rocks off on.

Go to MFI or Seabreeze. I'm sure you'll be more satisfied with the entertainment value at those parks.

No, but I can agree that enthusiasts are spoiled brats who have nothing better to do but sit home, wack off to illegally-shot POV videos, and cry when their home-parks don't add new rides.

Face it you will never agree with each other and repeated picking apart of each others' posts line by line and sentence by sentence will not persuade one side or the other to change their opinions.

And I guess you aren't one of those people blessed with intelligence.

I'm blessed with more intelligence than you, that's for sure. You sound like an anal retentive little b*tch. I dont nor have ever claimed to be the end-all know-it-all theme park expert. I'm a casual visitor who closely follows their homepark, and get irritated when finding out that the park gets passed over & over again for new attractions. Am I the only one pissed? Hell no... are you the only one that seems to disagree? Hell yeah.

Actually, I never said they could go another 10 years without receiving a new ride. Try to stay with me this time. I'll speak really slowly and use 6th-grade level words.

Please... use 6th grade words... I'm a little dyslexic here, so I need you to speak very slowly.

I said they could go longer than most parks because they have other ways to bring people to their property.

I'm sorry, those sound like 7th grade words to me... please speak slower.

Yes, I have. There's a metal detection checkpoint at the front gate, just like nearly every other park in the country. There are metal detection checkpoints between the theme park and the camping resort so people don't bring hazardous items into the theme park from the camping resort.

Ok, tell me this, genius... why is there a check point in the middle of a fenced area (near Boomerang) by the lake, when the entrance to Darien Square is wide open next to Beaver Brothers restaurant? You think campers & others won't either just jump the fence or walk thru the open midway entrance to the park if they're going to conceal weapons? Admit it... THE PARK WAS STUPID!! They put in metal detectors in 3 different locations, and if you want to walk to Twister thru Darien Square, logically... you have to go thru 2 check-points. Where the hell does that make any sense? It makes no sense. I got into the park bringing my keychain with a little harmless swiss army knife. They let me thru... but when I went thru Darien Square to goto Twister area, they confiscated it and said I couldn't bring it into the park, and I couldn't get it back until I went there back out to Darien Square only so I could go around back into the park to return to the same point where I was moments before where it was considered forbidden. Smart? I think not.

The park was a much more efficiently ran park wtihout the metal detectors. It got people thru the gates quickly, there were never any problems with unruly guests before with regards to weapons & other shiny metal objects.

And I've heard people complain about bathrooms, paint jobs, down-time, single train operation, and lightbulbs for EVERY PARK IN THE COUNTRY.

This one is a little more different, genius... did you even step foot into a guys bathroom? Did you ever see the Giant Wheel lit up at nite? It's a freakin joke! I've been to the bathrooms at New England, Cedar Point, Wonderland, Worlds of Adventure, Great Escape, and many others.. and none compare to the disgust of the bathrooms at Darien Lake.

There you go being hypocritical again. The park "suxxorz [sic]" but you claim to be a fan? Go away.

Oh, I'm sorry... do I have to put the words "sarcasm" when I don't mean it?
Did I ever say I was a fan of the park? I never once said I claimed to be a fan.

But I'm confused, since you said the only redeeming value the park has is the flowers they plant...

You? Confused? Holy cow... that's a first.

It has some great features? But you just said the only redeeming value the park has is the Laser Show. And before that you said the only redeeming factor the park has is the flowers/landscaping.

Oh, I guess I gotta be specific for little miss perfect.

Would you like some cheese with that?

Cheese with what? We're talking about amusement parks, not food... if you want to talk food... goto the Food Network forums.

We stay for 4 days and 3 nights when I take my family to camp at the park. We never leave Darien Lake's property. And you know what...
...blah blah blah, who cares what you said here...
...So you know what? There may not be a lot to do from your enthusiast, backward, illogical, spoiled-brat, Star-Wars-nerd, Comic-Book-Guy-from-the-Simpsons point of view, but the park DOES have great entertainment values.

You got a family? Hahahahahha... that's the funniest thing I've heard all day.
Oh yea, I'm a spoiled brat... suuuuuuure... spoiled how? Because I make more money on a yearly salary than you? Because my homepark is "better" than yours?
Star Wars Nerd? Oh, real original... nothing wrong with Star Wars, and billions of dollars in revenue from all the films & merchandise conclude that I'm not the only fan.
Comic Book Guy from Simpsons? Yyyeeaaah... whatever. I'm surprised you even know what a Simpsons is, considering your glorifying intelligence would be "sophisicated" enough to watch garbage TV like that.
Why don't you get it thru your head...
The park is a freakin' joke... aside from you... show me one person on this board who could stay at the park the whole day without getting bored... the ENTIRE day.

Oh, so now you're little miss expert at all these parks?

Because my goal is to make enthusiast brats like yourself look like jerks. That's exactly how the parks see you. I'm not your typical enthusiast. I am familiar with the industry-side of things. I don't get upset when parks don't follow Cedar Point's pattern of adding multi-million dollar attractions every other year.

Oh, and now you have goals? These are your goals? I don't look like a jerk... you're the one who is carrying on & on & on by konsistantley corekting me on every little miztake I mayke. You've got serious issues, girl.

And you know what? The only thing all your whining and complaining does is discourage other people from visiting Darien Lake. I honestly don't care if it deterrs others from visiting. The park is a joke, and if people stop visiting it, it'll drive attendance down enough raise a few red flags to realize that this park needs a little TLC. It has a few good things to it... but the bad FAR outweighs the good.

Go to MFI or Seabreeze. I'm sure you'll be more satisfied with the entertainment value at those parks.

I've been to both parks... and both of those parks are a joke too. All rides are either 100yrs old, or are parked on the back of flatbed trucks.

Well, if the evil coaster Gods are against us next year, too (his name is Zed), All war will break out. You're going to see that big red button being pressed (I dont know what does... but it's big & it's red).

You guys aren't doing 1337 speak right :(

Oh, and SFDL prob wont get a new coaster in '05(according to screamscape.com they are thinking about a water park), so your in luck Mamoosh

Sure SFA has gotten a handful of coasters for the first 3 seasons since being rebranded but out of those 5 S:ROS is the only one that's really any good.

Where are our B&M's at huh? I'll tell you where they are...they end up at SFMM or SFGRAM season after season(when SFI adds coasters)heck SFNE stole B:TDK from us back in 02..(the info was given from a credible source within the park who isn't an op or dippin dots employee)

We could've had a reliable B&M stand up but no! SFI had to go & give us a vekoma flying dutchman(that PKD didn't want due to it's complex mechanical problems) instead that has never worked at full capacity & suffers constant downtime,so it's not just the frequency of when new rides have been added so far but it's also the quality as well.

SFI made a promise to us in the DC area when Kierian Burke said"we intend to turn Six flags America into what we believe to be one of our finest six flags parks" finest my foot...I assume he used that same line at SFDL as well along with the other parks that were re-branded.

And just for the record VTBC I happen to reside in northern VA thank you very much...& I'm about 90 minutes away from SFA.

I know I'll risk losing a potential customer, but damn you're such a whiner! You live in Northern Virginia, which means you're within a days drive of BGW, PKD, SFA, Hershey, Dorney, Knoebels, Williams Grove, SFGAdv, and the Jersey/Maryland shore. Man...your life must really suck!

Uh.... Can we discuss trading BatwingFan instead, that would solve all of the problems. He would be close to SFMM and you would be close to Wild One, Roar and Superman. :) *** Edited 1/31/2004 12:48:44 AM UTC by coasterguts***

I can't believe you just said that. You have said repeatedly how much you enjoy Two Face, Roar, Wild One, JJ and Superman. The only ones you complain about are Mind Eraser and Batwing. I will agree Batwing needs some work but for you to say that only one is really any good is just plain wrong.

Please, I bet you, if you ask Janet Porter to refund you money for your season pass should would be more than happy to do so at this point.
