when will the new Geauga Lake coaster names be announced

GL:TPFKASFWOA is much easier, Shaggs.
I just wonder if another coaster by the name Of Hercules can be any better than it's predecessor. They could also bring back the Flying Dutchman as well.
Which coaster will have 'Steel' in its name?
Which one have that hooded guy with no face and glowing eyes?
And which one of them will be semi-themed to the 'fyooture' with classic Star-Wars-esque text and the obligatory dumass robot?

Inquiring minds must know!

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Answers for 'Playa (in order asked): Steel Phantom, Phantom's Revenge, and lastly, the obvious one, Big Dipper...

Of course, I *could* be wrong....;)

I prefer the superhero names over something you would name a random RCT coaster.

Lets go ride "Twisty Steel" and "Crow's Feet". Wha?!

I wonder which coaster will carry the name "Cedar Force"? ;)
Maybe these will work: Back and Forth Fast Launch Machine, Floorless Coasting Contraption, El Pain, Whatzit? , and my personal favorite from the past, Coaster. Then again, Big Super Fun Coaster has a nice ring to it or perhaps, the Tooth Smasher or Mr. Sparkle.
Whatever the names are announced to be (we find out tomorrow if everyone else is saying true information), I'm sure Cedar Fair will have the creativity NOT to copy names of the rides at their other parks. Who really wants another Talon or Raptor when they could have another great name for Mind Eraser.

Yes guys, I'm actually posting for once. ;)

As for the names, I can almost see some paint on rides that must be re-named, especially Superman: Ultimate Escape and Batman Knight Flight. The paint used on Talon and Corkscrew (at Michigan's Adventure) seems to be popular as well as the purple/neon yellow used on WildCat and Boomerang.

And just a quick question; does anyone have the original Geauga Lake logo? I'm interested in finding it and using it for a project.

I just wonder if they may just drop the Superhero name and keep the rest. Ultimate Escape, Knight Flight. Knight Flight could work for the ghostly Steel Force logo though.

I'm sure Cedar Fair won't let us down with some cool names and logos.

The second one is the one I currently am looking for. Does anyone have a more clean version of it? *** Edited 3/30/2004 9:51:52 PM UTC by CPFreakJon***

Gee, who suggested that idea way back in the intial "name change" thread the day the pending sale was announced? ;)

It was met with an odd mixed reaction for the record.

Well, there are two problems with the superhero names:

1. Cedar Fair doesn't have the rights to them (Universal has the Marvel characters, Six Flags has the DC ones). I SUPPOSE Cedar Fair could try to get Image or something, but somehow Spawn: The Ride just doesn't have a good ring to it. (I've been out of touch, has Image been bought up by either of the other big two yet?)

2. The way Six Flags was (re)using the superhero names didn't exactly contribute to knowing which coaster was which anyway. "I rode Superman last night". "Um, Ultimate Escape at WoA, Ride of Steel at DL, Ride of Steel at SFA, what?" Six Flags also keeps missing out on some great naming opportunities anyway -- after all these years, where's the hypercoaster themed after The Flash?

Funny you should mention that, Greg. "The Flash" was the original working name for M:TR ;)
Mamoosh, I'm semi-new here, what is M:TR?

Feeltheforce312's RCT Site - http://www.feeltheforce312.tk
Inside joke that was supposed to be let die a few months ago... apparently somebody *coughMooshcough* changed their mind?
You probably don't want to know what M:TR is dude ... ignorance can be bliss ...

Who wants to put up $10 that says it'll take Coasterdude Nate approximately 3.2 seconds to say he hates the names and colors, they make him want to throw up, and Cedar Fair is the devil cause Geauga Lake doesn't have trees? Anyone? Anyone?

If you find someone willing to give away their $10 that easily, Brett - send 'em my way :)

Here is the best old Geauga Lake 'jester' logo you can probably find CP freak. http://members.tripod.com/sfohio/GL_Plate.htm

Also, everyone is talking about what everything will be changing to. What about all the old stuff? What will happen to all the merchandise and what not that was never sold with Six Flags Ohio (yeah there was still a ton of that junk there) or SFWoA logos on it? What is going to happen to the old signs and everything else in the park? Will it be given away, will there be an auction? If there will be, I would love to get a piece of the park!

And bad coasters with good names aren't so bad anymore. Watch what happens when they change Serial Thriller's name to Talon! Whooohooo!

That's downright insulting!
