Whats wrong with TTD ?

Actually Moosh, even if he had been on each and every coaster in the world, it would still be an opinion. His "best" is not everyone's "best".

...imho. :)

Now Moosh, you shouldn't use big, hard words like ceveat, which I doubt he knows the meaning of.

Or you know the spelling of... ;) LOL

Not to bust on you, Moosh, but, if you didn't care, you wouldn't have thought it necessary to bring up his track record or lack thereof. For all you know, he's been on enough coasters to determine that in his opinion, it's the best in the world.

And you seem to be missing my point: one cannot claim a coaster is the "best in the world" unless one has ridden ALL in the world. However it is the best he has ever ridden. I realize I'm being pedantic but there is a difference those two claims.

I'll use my ice cream example: one cannot only taste vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream and claim vanilla as the "best flavor in the world" when quite obviously there are many, many more flavors out there. However one can correctly claim that vanilla is the best flavor of ice cream "I've ever tasted."

The concept I'm discussing is not hard for anyone with half a brain to understand and you strike me as a someone with more than that ;)

That makes TOO MUCH SENSE Moosh... knock it off. You know that kind of logic doesn't fly 'round these parts.

And no, Moosh isn't a mod. But that doesn't mean we can't love him like one! ;)

... or hate how every topic turns to someone hitting on someone, bringing up an inside joke, someone mentioning M:TR (and then 10 other people asking what that is, sidetracking conversation even more) or nonsense about people's opinions...

based on the *LOOKS* of all the coasters in the world [hell, maybe that's what he was thinking inside just didn't type it], i truly believe holiday world's new coaster will be the best. No, I *havn't* ridden it... but i already know :) -- please go off on me.

I agree. MF and The Voyage are THE BEST coasters ON THE PLANET!

Moosh, to answer your "issue", no, we cannot know anything thru experience. Every experience is tainted by unvalidated sensory experience, not to even mention a lack of enough experience to even begin to have enough evidence to draw a conclusion. Even if you had been on every rollercoaster, have you been in every seat in every possible condition? I think not. True knowlege is not derived from experience, but from pure reason that the enlightened mind discovers in deep meditation.

*hmmmmmmmmm*

Yes! MF and The Voyage are the greatest shadows of the true rollercoaster that we will ever know.

I think you're a hottie, SFDL dude! How about I take you out for some pancakes before you get your M:TR credit? I bet you'd claim it the best woodie in the world!

I don't know why, but that one made me laugh ;)

Looks pretty good, Moosh. How about a little Paul Ruben bashing to make it complete?

MILLENNIUM FORCE IS THE BEST ROLLER COASTER *IMHO*!

There, is that better for everyone? No, I'm not a high school dropout, and no, I haven't ridden EVERY roller coaster in the world. If anyone here has, thou shall be the first to cast the stone at me.

Mamoosh, you seem to be the one taking this too far. I just posted in my defense once, and I created a monster. I didn't mean for it to happen, but whenever somebody attacks me, on the web or in real life, I'll strike back. Like others have said, this is a place where you can post your own opinions. Problem with my life is nobody wants to talk about roller coasters, so why not say what I have to say here? Oh yes, I do have friends, and no, only half my life is roller coasters (The other half is golf).

I almost forgot. Cotton Candy ice cream is my favorite Mamoosh.

stallion... to think I figured ya for a HS dropout... never woulda figured ya for a golfer. no to get too far off topic but as long as we did ice cream, what's the best golf course in the world? I gotta go with Pinehurst No. 2
Well, aside from all the 'best in the world' discussion, I'll throw in that on Friday night (9-16) I did see a maintenance man tinkering with TTD. He was at a spot where two of the launch brake fins were down (all the rest were up). I wished I had a camera with me, cause after a while, he lied down on the catwalk along the launch, and looked like he was taking a nap! Anyway, I'm inclined to think (hope?) that it is a sign that CP doesn't believe TTD's season is over.

italianstallion - I have not attacked you at all in this topic. I'm not yelling. I'm not angry. I'm not overreacting.

You stated you opinion, I want to know what the opinion is based on. Simple as that. I have never once said you can't have your opinion. In fact if you read my posts in this thread you will see I've said numerous times that anyone is free to have whatever opinion they want.

But this is a discussion forum. Anyone who posts their opinion here leaves it open for discussion and scrutiny, including my own. If you're going to claim that Millie is the best in the world I have every right to ask how you came to that conclusion.

Simma down fellas....

Moosh c'mon man. yeah I saw your point and said he was a high school dropout.

But you "have every right to ask" how he came to that conclusion? You are smarter than that. You know how he came to that conclusion. Like you said his track record probably is HUGE. But that last post kinda has me thinking that you are the one that is taking this too far. It also has me thinking if he is a high school dropout what grade are you in? *** Edited 9/20/2005 2:28:42 AM UTC by TopThrill10***

Oh, that's so tough. Pinehurst is a great course, along with St. Andrews. Both have their own little unique charateristics. I love Pebble Beach. I played there once and the weather was perfect. Again, I can't say it's the best in the world, otherwise I'll be attacked like Osama, but it's one of the best in the world.

Best course that I'll never play, unless I hit the pros, is Augusta. Absolutley perfect. I love April and the Masters, one of the best times of the year. It's my favorite major.

Oh, Mamoosh, I forgot to ask you... What in your opinion is the best roller coaster?

Mamoosh's avatar
I can't tell you what the best coasters are...only the best I've ridden. Of 309 steel and 99 wood: SFNE's Superman is the best steel coaster I've ever ridden; Phoenix is the best wooden coaster I've ever ridden.

I'm always looking for something climb into that #1 spot. ;)

*** Edited 9/20/2005 2:24:39 PM UTC by Mamoosh***

And regardless, we all know that Gemini is the best coaster at Cedar Point, Phantom's Revenge is the best coaster ever made, no one ever really rides M:TR (or wants to), and Dollywood is the best park out there.

Oh, and Swamp Fox is the best wooden coaster ever.

So shut up already!

Just curious, but, is M:TR a pay per ride or included in admission? ;)
