What parks are affected from the power outages?

when we were driving past SFWOA it was still running all their coasters and everything was fine there.

I remember an old story about a blackout in the 1980's. Nine months later, there was a HUGE baby boom. So I guess people made the best use of their time during the outage... ;)

My Cleveland suburb apparently got switched to something from the south, because we had power back within 30 minutes. Cleveland itself just came back, and some suburbs are still out.

Talked to a ride op at CP. Some people were stuck on rides for an hour or so. MF was just short of the crest, so they turned it just enough to push it over the top. Haven't heard if they closed the park entirely, but given the scope I should hope they would have. The most chaos there was among the seasonals, who didn't know if they'd be needed or not tonight.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

I have power at my home (duh) but there are people that are on the other side of town from me that don't have any power.

The traffic lights are still down and driving is not a good idea. It's currently is 87 degrees in Rochetser,NY so it is very hot and humid something we are not very used to.

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

Let me ask the question, how long until Markey associates the blackout with 'too intense of rides'?

Just kidding of course. I notice that there is power at CP, or at least backup power. I was there last year when lighting took out the park and man it's DARK.

I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

We lost power for a second at most. My music stuttered and my screen went dim as my computer unexpectedly switched over to the battery. Gotta love laptops. :)

My friend IM's me "Did you just lose power?" "I think so, my screen went dim like it does when I'm using the battery."

You aren't used to hot and humid in Rochester? What, did you just move there from Alaska? Sounds like a typical August day to me.

Temperatures from Chicago to New York have been remarkably average this summer.

SFDL lost power for two brief moments. It just seemed bad because the rides got closed, coasters got stuck, and then the coasters didn't reopen for the rest of the night even though they probably could ahve. As I was leaving work the rides were opened again. The lights and radio in my game turned off for like one second and then the power came back.
On tha CP webcam, TTD has what looks like some emergency lights down the track, but the tower lights are completely off.

Just wondering what the out look for CP is tomorrow and Saturday, hope there open on Sat.

Luckily we got our power back here in in western lake county, but its patchy, my gf's house about 20 min east from me still has no power, and luckily we still have water.

Good thing this happened now and not in a time of a major crisis, which could of made it a lot worse especially with the water situation in Cleveland,

Those lights on Dragster aren't emergency lights, they're the midway lights. They're always there.

SFGAm had to close some of the rides DEJA VU, V2, Condor, and Sky trek. Casue they use the most power casue the grid that SFGAm is on is giving power to the places that needed Power. They put up the will not open today sign out.

The scroll on one of the local news stations said that Cedar Point will be open tomorrow. NW Pa (well my part, anyway) has lights.

As I was leaving work tonight (I work at a major home improvement store that ISN'T Depot) one of our delivery trucks was going out with a load of generators. Where it was going is yet to be answered.

Six Flags GrAm closed the rides that could be most difficult to evacuate if the power was out, not because the park was giving power to other parts of the US
You'd think they'd be experts at evacuating Deja Vu by now.

On the news they said Cedar Point will reopen tomorrow morning...

I too Im in western lake county...all my friends all around me are still without power. I feel bad they call me and they ask what im doing..."watching tv" they are mad at me!

Well, our power was out until around 8 or so, but my gf called me and woke me up to see if my power was out around 4:30 or so, and since it was I'm like jeeze, this sux, since my bro has my generator I grabbed my power converter that plugs into my car and ran extension cords from there to my living room and plugged in the tv, a fan and put my computer there too. The only prob was I had to start my car every now and then and some neighbors tried bothering me to watch TV. But it seems like the power in this area is getting restored, my gf finally has power. But I don't care about that I just want CP to be open on Sat and from what someof you have said it looks like it will be, and hey maybe this black-out will deter many people and lines will be short!
My power in Akron Ohio just came on 5 minutes ago. I talked to a friend that was the train ahead of the one that got stuck on MF's lift hill. At first everyone up there thought it was just CP without power and they closed the park. Then they thought it was Sandusky - Ohio - but then they learned the big picture. We are so spoiled. The world is horrible without power. So many accidents because people don't know what to do with traffic lights being out - gas stations being closed... it was truly a natural disaster. I hope everyone out there is okay.

If I had no power, i'd just play monopoly and then risk. It might be a couple of days before I finished those games. ;)
