What parks are affected from the power outages? Anyone stuck on top of Millennium Force?
Very interesting question. I was thinking about Cedar Point since it is between Toledo and Cleveland. Hopefully no one is stuck on any rides.
How would you just randomly guess to ask if someone was stuck on top of MF during a blackout? Didja take a look at the webcam perhaps?

On the flipside.. it would kinda be cool to be up there. I'm asking this one because I really wonder: Is the service elevator that goes to the top of the ride ran by a backup generator or by the main line?

^ Backup power source.

And you know people would nut up after sitting up there for a bit.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

The power outage missed SFWoA by one block.
Found out the answer to my question via GTTP... MF has a backup system in place to take care of this type situation. It still would be kinda neat to be up there for a few minutes though. :)

I imagine Coney Island is affected.

Nashville needs a theme park!
I believe that the outage started near the great lakes and most of New York state is down so Darien Lake might be affected. But as said most parks have back up systems for emergency reasons.

I remember SFoG had a problem with a power outage. I think most of you can recall that incident with Acrophobia - where riders were stuck a little higher than 150' above ground on the ride carriage when the power went out.
Oh, i thought Cedar Point was the only park without power after reading this Forum.

But anyways, Sfdl probably went down today. I live in Rochester,Ny and all power has been lost so this affected Seabreeze also.

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

We still have power here in Pittsburgh, so Kennywood is still open. Power is out in northwestern Pa, so Conneaut Lake is out. Power is also out in Altoona Pa. so Lakemont is probably without power.

I regret to inform you that Cedar Point's newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster will not be operational today, or tomorrow or probably any day that you decide to visit our park. Please accept our apologies.

Well it looks to me, that MF is stuck at the top. despite you all might say, if you look at the park cams you can clearly see MF's Trains. and everytime the page refreshes, it's in the EXACT same place!
Along those lines SS, I think the sun lost power and is stuck up there as well. It'll probably be tomorrow morning before they get the sun moving across the sky again.

Alternatively, you might settle on believing that CP's webcam is stuck on 16:10 (4:10 PM). :)

This blackout is unreal. Has there ever been an outage of this magnatude before? I feel sorry for you guys in the affected areas. The news says that its also hot outside.

ooh! Ooh! I was there. There were helicopters everywhere and the only open ride was the train. We got stuck on the chairlift and the ops had to pull the cables to get us down. Then , all the crowds left and everything was a walk-on for three hours. It was sweet!

I'm so friggin' sick of people who think the Crystal beach Cyclone would have been a great coaster. Woohoo ! I just rode this great ride , and Now My arm is broken and my tailbone is Bruised!
