What parks are affected from the power outages?

I'm in CT and it's really hot and muggy. I can't imagine how it is in NYC. They said Cleveland only has 2 hours left of water! This is really bad.

I'm going on a trip to GADV tomorrow, I can't imagine the traffic around NYC where we have to get around there.

I lost my hat on Poison Ivy. How pathetic.

Some of the news stations are mentioning the 1965 NorthEast power outage, known as the Great NorthEast BlackOut of 1965. Doing some research online, in that incident, about 30 million people were affected for nearly 13 hours. Also, some of these sites mention that UFOs can cause power outages in the grid systems 'unintentionally.' Apparently, there was a blackout in December of 1965 as well in New Mexico after alleged UFO sightings.

The CP webcams stopped capturing images over an hour ago.

They were stopped by the outage.

Rearrange that and you get...

I know that, I was pointing it out in response to the webcam comment in the previous post.

I knew it was aliens all the time. Probably those damn Klingons.

Come on fhqwhgads!

I was at SFMM about 15 years ago when there was a power outage. The power never did come back on and they gave out rain checks for a return visit.

It was intesting watching the employees clear all the different rides.

I read a quote online that Six Flags New England also lost power and some people had to be helped off some rides there.

And what about those damn Klingons? Worf is the only good one in the bunch.

Spock is NOT a Pod Person, who the hell are "reverse vampires" Rafe or Allison?

Folks, 80-90 degrees IS NOT HOT. I repeat.. IS NOT HOT. In texas it doesnt get below 90 degrees somtimes at night! So stop talking about it being so friggin hot that the world is going to end.
It IS hot when you are not used to it. Wanna come up here in January when it's -20 below zero and tell me it's not cold?

Shut up.

MrScott

Ninety degrees mixed with high humidity equals HOT buddy. You have to take into account the sick , elderly, pregnant women, etc.

So yes, it is a concern.

Thank you, Chitown. His post was the most idiotic that I have seen today.

Sheesh.

MrScott

80-90 may not be hot for Texas, but in regions where that is not the normal temperature, it may cause trouble. France/Europe should be at around 75 F, but it's around 100 F and higher. CNN is reporting nearly 200 people are dying in Paris daily, compared to an average of 30.

SFNE apparently is affected, there's a quote here or there from a Kim Hicks who was riding Cyclone when the power went out. She says, "We were on the Cyclone roller coaster when the power went out. Luckily it was where it was flat, thank God, not up on top. We sat there about 20 minutes and they finally came to walk us off."

Other than I can't imagine any real detrimental effects from having the power go out while the coaster was "up on top", and I'm guessing the power probably went out while the ride was still running the circuit. She only noticed it once the ride had stopped.

I agree chitown. You go out west to places like Arizona where temps reach 90s and 100, YET the HUMIDITY is only 10-20%. Take 85 degrees with 90% humidity in Ohio is VERY uncomfortable whether inside or outside.

I am not who you think I am.

SFNE, SFGAdv, and presumably, SFDL all lost power. WHTZ 100.3 spoke with someone who was at Great Adventure -- she described the situation as being handled pretty poorly, with no employees having any idea what was going on. I would imagine that they did need to evacuate all of their rides. I'm sure, but can't confirm, that Coney Island, Adventureland, and maybe Rye all lost power as well.

We just got power back in my area, but we're the only part of LI with power -- because of our proximity to the airport, I think.

In other news -- is this the first time Worlds of Adventure didn't lose power?

Go figure, CP, a bunch of parks and cities lose power, but somehow SFWoA stands tall. I bet they are behind it.

The only ride that wouldn't have had to unload on the lift (if stopped there) would be SUF since they've got a backup diesel motor to drive the lift. I wonder what rides had to be evacuated?

Cedar Point closed at 7pm today!

I work 3 miles from SFWoA and yes they had power.
