What holiday should HW add next?

How so? We aren't really speculating, we are just imagining what would be the next best section of the park.

Coasterville Dave did a great job summing things up thus far. I know sometimes there gets to be so many posts it is hard to read through all of them before wanting to type your own response, just to find out someone else has said the same thing.

Valentines Day could have a shoot-em-up dark ride themed to the mob massacre. ;)
i like festivus, we could have the pole and the airing of grievences. And nobody can leave the area at the end of the day without taking down the owner, just like no one can leave the house in seinfeld until somebody took down george's dad
Some really good ideas in here. This is the most entertaining thread on here lately. Keep 'em comin.

I can just imagine the sweets shop in Valentine's Day! Little Raven shaped chocolates Mmmmmmm.

Groundhog Day.

I like Groundhog Day...it could have a Tremors clone ;)
It would be identical to Tremors except it would have Wacky Worlds-style "groundhog" trains.

Ben Ryker

I don't really think they need a new holiday. The inverter could easily be themed to 4th of July (not that I've been, but I'm assuming there's land in that area).

Of course, if they had to add one, I'd be partial to St. Pattie's Day what with being Irish and all. Of course, the drunken nonsense associated with that holiday might not be in line with the park's "family" atmoshphere, but hell if they're giving away free Guinness I'll be there ASAP!

Groundhog Day.

Wouldn't that be the same thing day after day?

Now, looking at the holidays, they have:

Christmas - winter

Fourth of July - summer

Halloween - autumn

Looks like a spring holiday would logically follow.

"Saint Patrick and the Easter Bunny's April Fools Earth Day Party".

BEN?!? Where HAVE you been, haven't heard from you in....a groundhog's age...;)

I like the idea though, and there's NOTHING wrong with building a clone of Tremors...every park should have one...:)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

I think New Years might be fun, and easy to theme. I liked the first idea about Birthdays, but then thought, it's not really a holiday, is it?

Don't take this the wrong way - Holiday World is my #1, favorite park. And it got even better this year with the no smoking rule. But I wouldn't like to see anymore obvious religious holidays. I have no problem with christmas, when it's the day about presents, Santa Claus, etc. But I don't care for the nativity scenes. I'm not deeply religious, but I would think there may be some people of other religions who take offense to not being represented. I'm not saying remove the religious items, just branch out and include some others.

Just because the park is located in an area that appears to have little diversity, doesn't mean it's not a good idea to start incorporating some. It's not just the locals who go to the park.

For me, a custom inverted would be a fantastic addition. Sorry Rob. I like diversity when I go to parks...woodies AND steelies. Granted, Raven and Legend are my fav woodies in the world. I do like Zingo's idea about the "Love Sick" spinning coaster too. I say add 'em both.

And while they are add it, they should add a 500 foot dive machine.

Keep in mind Holiday World is a relatively small mark on a budget. Custom Bimers coast money.

As for Holidays - Girl Scout Day, Flag Day, and My Birthday seem like the obvious choices.

Down is the new up.
Yes, Word, adding your 3 custom themed sections to the park would cost much less than a custom inverted. <Note tongue in cheek>

Well I still think the obvious next choice would be Easter as it is the third largest "spending" holiday for stores behind #1 Christmas and #2 Halloween. They can leave out the whole resurrection story and go strictly with the "commercialized" version of the holiday. Besides meeting the Easter Bunny would be cool. :)

I still like Birthday.

Hey Paula, have you let Pat see this thread yet? I think there are a lot of good ideas here.

I'm for anything as long as you keep the Haunted Houses out! :O

Brian, who doesn't feel like explaining. :(

Cinco de Mayo, baby.

Back to ApolloAndy's idea, an Arrow Suspended with pinata shaped cars, which would dodge and swing around the buildings of the new fiesta village section. Then climb a second lift for a more agressive second half zig zagging through the forest, dodging trees with near misses at high speeds. Not a hardcore thrill ride, but would definitely be high on the fun factor, which seems to be HW's niche.
