What coaster name doesn't seem to fit?

Geauga Lake named their new coaster for 1988 Raging Wolf Bobs out of horor for another coaster that had burnt down. -------------

maybe they should burn that one down too !  LOL

Roller coaster of Love ~ ooi ~ ooi ~ ooi

'The Sky Princess', CCI's first coaster, is located at Dutch Wonderland in Pennsylvania.  oooh, I'm scared.
Serial Thriller is pretty lame. It doesn't have **** on the Raptor. After waiting in a long line to ride it....I was soo dissappointed when I got off. Six Flags can expand their park and have all the QUANTITY they want but they will NEVER have the QUALITY that Cedar Point has.
The Boss and Cornball Express are the most idiotic names I've heard for coasters...some I like though are Raptor, Talon, Legend, Raven, any coasters at Busch parks have great names, and wether you guys agree or not, Superman Ride of Steel is a cool name for a hyper IMO.

v2 and x . such dull names for succh exciting lookin coasters
I don't know about that. Verticle Velocity (V2) sounds like a pretty good name to me. I mean, it fits the coaster well, with it's nice verticle spikes and all.
Superman Krypton Coaster.  It is really catchy.  I love the alliteration. :)

"I don't agree with superdooper looper at hershey park first off the name sucks because the coaster only have one loop but maybe it fit better with a 3 loop coaster"

Superdooperlooper does seem like a silly name by modern standards, but when the ride was built in the 1970's, the fact that it even had 1 loop was amazing.  I rode it when it was 6 and I thought it was the greatest coaster on the planet... my how times change...

The superman and batmans refer to all Six Flags theming. I think they were pushing to have both a Batman  and Superman  in every park as a trademark(until their slip-up and end up naming one 'Nitro'). Anyway, I think SooperDooperLooper scares me everytime I say it.
-----------------

Velduanga you know Six Flags is going to get away with a superman name for great adventures their probably going to get a b&m flyer and name it Superman:Ultimate Flight. They was going to name Nitro, S:KC. Its like all parks have a trademark name and ride style.

Cedar Fair- Millenium force, Steel force, mean streak, blue streak.

Paramount- Grizzly, Top Gun, Drop Zone, Togo standups, Vortex

Six Flags- Superman, Batman, Viper, Mr. Freeze, SLC coasters, runaway mine trains

What about Space Mountain? What the heck is that supposed to mean?
That is something I didn't get. I loved the name Matterhorn, but then you come up with Space Mountain. Come on, it's a wide building and doesn't even tower over anything. Space Mountain could have been cooler like Galatic, Black Hole, and Portal 7. Even Buzz Lightyear's Flighr wouldn't have been as corny as Space Mountain.

As to SFGAm:

I think that GD is themed as some sort of mining device. If I remember correctly, it has a sign outside it that says "Giant Drop Ore Excavator." I think the "El Diablo Mine" sign is at the queue entrance, as if the queue is located in a mine tunnel.

Also, I've heard comments that the Yankee Harbor section is "loosing" its theming- in other words, rides are being put there whose theming has nothing to do with Yankee Harbor. For example, B:TR, V2, and the re-naming of Yankee Clipper to Ice Mountain Splash (after the bottled water).

"What am I doing?"
"OoooohwhAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Alpengeist is by far my favorite name, even without the excellent theming. Kraken, Ghostrider, Dueling Dragons and Apollo's Chariot I also like quite a bit.

Two names I'm surprised have not been used yet are "The Flash" and "Icarus".

"The Flash" seems to be a natural for a launched LIM full-circuit coaster like Xcelerator. Plus the red and yellow color scheme with the lightning bolt logo would look great, too. I presume that Six Flags has the rights to all DC Comics characters, since they created Riddler's Revenge, Joker's Jinx, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, etc., but maybe they only bought the rights for the Superman and Batman franchises?

Icarus is the name of the boy from Greek Mythology who escapes an island prison with his father on wings made of feathers and wax. Unfortunately, he flew too close to the sun which melted the wax and he plunged to his death. Although the story is kind of a downer, to me fits the feel of a B&M hyper coaster (get too close to the sun and down you go) and would be a perfect fit for BGW. Maybe BGW could use the name if they build a B&M flyer in a year or two.

The great bear was named because it has seven so called "thrill elements" and the big dipper has seven stars which is named ursa major which means big bear. Hersheypark said that. It's a good ride though.

Personaly I hate the name"the flying coaster". I mean yes it does fit with it flying but to me it's just horrible.

I think the "Serial Thriller" at SFWOA is a poorly chosen name. Mostly because it isn't even thrilling.

Now...but did you ride it when it was new in 98? You'd be singing a diff. tune. It was great.

My favorite name is Colossus in reference to Magic Mountain of course. The name is so fitting for that ride, but for the 10-looper? Come on, that's lame.
Also, I think X is a great name even though I don't think the ride is great like everyone else.

By the way, I loved the "David, Defeater of Goliath" bit about MF though.

Also, I think "Speed" is a great coaster name, but not "Speed: The Ride" Anything with "...The Ride" in its title is lame.

And "Superman: Ride of Steel" is by far the best use of a comic book character / movie theme.

How `bout the Blue Flash? Hehe. :)

I dont think the name High Roller (out and back woodie at valleyfair) really fits the coaster. Sure, it may have seemed big back then, but they should have thought about the future additions...

When you consider how HIGH you could fly off your seat before CF installed brakes (long ago) and seatbelts (2000), it doesn't seem strange at all. Seatbelts or no, I sure wish I could drag their IAD coaches with me and drop them aboard ST, Boulder Dash or Gwazi. Neither PTCs or Gerstlauers come anywhere close.

VF's High Roller could stand toe-to-toe with any CCI hog-tied to the above trains if only VF would set it free. There. I said it.

Playa, on occasion they will turn High Rollers trims off. The key is asking the ride op if they're on that day. If memory serves on the last day of the season they'll turn them off, but I'm not sure
