Vekomas cheap

I'd be surprised if SFMW is about to ditch it's SLC to squeez in Texas Tornado. I'm sure they're probably going to find some other place to put TT, but I don't see SFMW getting rid of Kong considering how popular the ride is with GP and considering they added the on-ride photo (taken from Boomerang), and they actualy put something under the ride other than the standard dirt and weeds (they put lava rocks under there).

Wow, that's not a bad price for Thunder Eagle! I still can't believe Race World is dead. I know the competition in Pigeon Forge is fierce, and I guess their location didn't help either.

Off topic... how do you pronounce Vekoma?

Is it VEE koma or Veh koma or Vah koma?

It's weird how they list is as built by Vekoma/Meisho. I thought Meisho only built rides in Japan...

Calvin, Can you elaborate on how you know this? Thanks.

The Log Flume at Geauga Lake was a 71 or 72.
It's pronounced Vay-koma. I got it straight from a tech's mouth who was working on Batwing (I'm assuming he was Dutch by his accent.). He corrected me when I said it the way everyone always says it.
HA! If i met a Vekoma tech i would tell him to tell the people who design the rides to STOP sucking at what they do. :-P
CalvinJ23:
The Huss Enterprise and Rainbow you saw on irmpri.com are Hersheypark's. The Rainbow has been sold to a park in the southern US, but the Enterprise is still for sale--price negotiable, if you're interested.....
Interesting. I didn't think Hersheypark had a Rainbow; I thought they had a 1,001 Nachts (themed as a wagon, IIRC) with the seats facing the center rather than towards the front.

Or am I remembering wrong? Or is it a custom tub? I remember there was something odd about it.....

It was the Conestoga or something like that, right?

The Great Escape is getting an Arrow mine train for 2003.

And by the way, what's a Vekoma Roller Skater-and wheres and example of one?

The Roller-Skater is a kiddie coaster. Here's the one at SFKK: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery172.htm

Woodstock Express has the same layout as a roller skater, but of course has different trains.

IF SFNE removed the infamous Mind Eraser they would not replace it with a miniscule thing like an impulse...a larger ride fits in that space...possibly a B:TR...I can hope cant I?

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK

You want a B:TR? But you already have a Batman coaster right next to it! hehehe

"...they came like a winged curse. A twin plague of demonic dragons!" - Dueling Dragons

Might this be the start of a trend all across the boards for SF?

If they plan on selling one of their 97 SLC's then perhaps they might be interested in selling off all the others in the chain & replacing them with smooth, safe & reliable B&M inverteds (cough B:TR cough cough)if that happens I wouldn't mind seeing SFA's mind eraser go out the door.

Does anyone have any idea on why they are looking to sell this particular unit? perhaps it's either a space issue or more likely a parts/saftey issue because out of all of the SLC's from personal experience SFA's is the most unsafe version that I've ever ridden, that thing is an accident waiting to happen.

Yep, HP's was a Conestoga....

bill, happy to be able to help Dave, for a serious change of pace...

edit: Keep the B:TRs, the ride to clone is Talon!

B:TRs are pretty good, but we have enough of them. Without having checked the measurements, I'm guessing that Talon's footprint would match an SLC's better. Talon is on really nice ride too!

Just to add fuel to the fire... SFDL had their SLC blocked off this past year for FrightFest when in years past the trail to MindEraser was a huge haunted path. I was hoping it was b/c they were prepping for a new ride but could it be they are prepping their SLC to be torn down? I hope not, I love the front seat on that ride!! And by the way, the Soquet at SeaBreeze here in Rochester NY (Quantum Loop) IS for sale, and SeaBreeze brass would be dancing in the streets if they got $800K for it. That thing is a piece of youknowwhat... I live a few miles from that park and it was NEVER running in the summer. I wouldn't give $800 for it, let alone $800,000...

80 days, 23 hours, 6 minutes till SFMM & KBF...
