Valleyfair getting a new coaster or not???

Just checked what?
Jason, here's Orient Express, Hercules, & Thunderhawk.

Hopefully WoF will use Orient Express again when they fill in that void with a good looper worthy of OE's domain.

Maybe the woodie will be called Mean Roller. ;) *** Edited 9/15/2006 10:49:51 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Or maybe it'll be a GCI jr. and it'll be called low roller.

No, from what I hear, it's no jr. sized GCI. ;)

No it is a full-sized project.
How very very soon will this very very very very very exciting announcement come out to change our very very very own lives by a very large degree? I am very very very very very very pumped for this very announcement. Hopefully the scheduled announcement doesn't roll back (haha, ROLL BACK, PUN, HAHAHAHAHA, you know you groaned).
Why are they sooo slow at announcing it? Why the big secret? In the mid to late 1980s Dick Kinzel when he was GM of Valleyfair was not afraid to tell ACE News about VF's 5 year plans which included a plan to build a new wooden roller coaster which turns out to be Excalibur. I gave him a call asking about the new coaster and mentioned that I'd like something like Riverside Cyclone. He than told me that he and park officials are planning to tour several USA parks to see what kind of features to put in the ride. At the time they were undecide whether it would be a wood track or a steel track but they later went with a steel track like Gemini but more of a twister design and you know the rest of the story. Anyway I knew a bit about them planning this ride much more in advance than I do for rides that are planned today although I only know they were looking at doing a wood coaster back then (Excalibur). But today they (reliable sources) won't even hint at a new woodie! All of the talk about the new woodie is from employees instead of management! Unless the new woodie would have some type of element that never been done before or have some records to be broken I can't understand why the BIG secret and slow to announce the new coaster!

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!
Um... yeah, supposedly they're announceing it on thursday so we should see then. Supposedly now it's gonna be a 100 ft. tall and about as long as Wild Thing.
So we're back to VERY VERY VERY SOON!!! ;)
Let's see... Thursday is 3 days away so... Very Very very soon. Hey! You're right!

Hmm, it's going over by the waterpark and rapids ride, and it's in Minnesota...Viking comes to mind. ;)

Wouldnt the Minnesota Vikings be trademarked though? Or would that not matter? I'm not clear on the trademark policy.

hello
NO!! If they name it the Viking all the people here would blame the Millennium Flyers for the ride not being the best ever and they would trade them for some 3 bench PTC's.
Acoustic Viscosity's avatar
^I don't get it.

I think every GCI would be more exciting with PTC's, but considering the maintainence concerns, the MFlyer trains are the way to go.

I think it was a poor attempt at a joke that concerns the Minnesota Vikings, which none of us really care about as most of us are Chiefs fans even though they are sucking right now. ;)

How about THOR - the god of thunder and lightning? I still think they are going to use a name that has already been used otherwise they would have trademarked it by now.

Acoustic Viscosity's avatar
Thor...I really like that one! Would make for a great Lightning Racer rip-off. ;) Yeah, I'm inclined to think it will be a recycled Cedar Fair trademarked name.

Who cares about the Chiefs. Go Royals! :) *** Edited 9/19/2006 2:17:00 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Maybe one of those increasingly-popular ride-naming contests? :)

^I got it -- Hershey Squirts! ;) (I still think that would've been a better name)

LOL. That is fantastic. I missed that one.
