Unpopular Coaster Opinions

What are your unpopular coaster opinions?

Here are some of mine:

  • Legend is better than Raven (rode both in 2016 for the first time)
  • Georgia Cyclone is a pretty great ride and SFOG would be better off with a custom RMC than RMC-ing either of their existing woodies
  • Twisted Colossus is the best RMC

Here's my reasoning, by the way-

  • Legend and Raven
    • Legend is long, fairly smooth for a woodie except for some jarring segments in the "out" section between the first curved hill and the turnaround. The airtime hills on the "back" run are pretty good. The helix feels like a miniature Beast with much more lateral ferocity, and the ending contains some nice air pops and a smooth, "magic carpet", undulating feeling courtesy of GCI.
    • Raven is shorter, and although it has airtime, I didn't think the 5th drop was as amazing as people say it is. It also is a bit bumpy, though not terribly so.
  • GA Cyclone
    • In the back row, this ride's 4th drop is insane - definitely better than Raven's famous 5th drop. It seemed to nearly toss me over the seat divider when I first rode it. The ride feels like it doesn't let up. Definitely my favorite Dinn woodie, and really a masterpiece in disguise despite its pretty bumpy ride.
  • Twisted Colossus
    • It might have the feeling of two short coasters joined together, but the ride is well-sized for an RMC - it isn't small, but isn't so huge like Goliath SFGAM (yes, I know one is ground-up and one is converted) that its elements are drawn-out and few in number. TC has a plethora of airtime hills, both of the bunny hop variety and the long ejector variety (the blue track's hill under the green track's stall) and an amazing dueling effect - in fact, in a surprising move for SFMM, they try to keep dispatches going fairly quickly to keep the dueling effect.

My unpopular coaster opinions: Iron Rattler is better - only marginally - than NTG and both are better than Goliath at SFGAM. Yes, Goliath is excellent but it's contained within such a confined space. I prefer coasters such as IR and Outlaw Run that cover a lot of ground. To me this makes for a much more complete riding experience.

My family love Georgia Cyclone, so you're not alone. They definitely should not RMC it. That being said, I love love love Wicked Cyclone, but have never ridden Twisted Colossus so I can't say one is better than the other. My unpopular opinion is that Cheetah Hunt is way better than people give it credit for, especially the part right after the second launch.

Cheetah hunt is the worst Intamin launched coaster

Behemoth is as good as Leviathan, maybe better

Dollywood is the best park in the world

Valravn is better than Griffon

Arrow loopers are fun

Hey, let's ride (random Intamin coaster). What? It's broken down? I totally didn't expect that.

This thread has quickly devolved into just opinions.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

You're certainly entitled to that view.

My opinions are always unpopular.

It is my opinion that TTD is taller than KK.

Behemoth is better than Leviathan... But not by a whole lot, and not everyday.

Vater doesn't even like bran muffins....

I'd rather have the convenience of just placing my cup on the table then have to find a coaster.

Flashpass is a scam. It is taking away from what non-flashpass customers already paid for.

You know, I've actually been told by some people that they hate my guts because of this opinion. They H A T E me. It used to kind of hurt my feelings (maybe ten years ago,) but I've grown up a lot since then, and I don't give a poo.

That opinion isn't unpopular. It's just wrong. ;)

FastLane/Flashpass etc is the root of all that is wrong with society today, the haves vs the have-nots. Unless it's a day where I can afford it, then I'm cool with pay-to-cut.

But then again, what do I know?

My unpopular opinion is that not all Vekoma coasters suck;I personally think Batwing and the now-gone Two-Face is/was a good ride.

That if a ride requires some sort of "trick" or special body placement to enjoy it without getting the crap beat out of you then it's a good ride.

I should not have to provide blood from m first born on a July Tuesday evening with the temperature above 80 degrees but below 90 with winds coming from the northwest while keep my body at a 43 degree angle from the seat back with legs crossed and a mouth guard in to enjoy a ride on any coaster!

The Beast gives incredible night rides, but is otherwise overrated.

The Voyage is too intense.

Not sure if this is a joke or not, but KI's King Cobra was actually by far my favorite stand up coaster.

Which made me really excited for KD's Shockwave, until I rode it, and took a brutal shot to my jaw on that last turn where the layout changes from KI's version. Ouchy.

I hate to interject a popular opinion here, but you're right. With the exception of the few standups, Togo rides sucked without fail.
