Just like a so-called Southern California theme park that seems to have even greater woes than the former Ohio park but was saved?
If you're comparing SFMM to the former SFWOA, "greater woes" is something that is very difficult to quantify, especially when each park is so completely completely different in situation. Total apples and oranges.
If we don't hear anything in the next few weeks, there's an ACE event which I've been invited to again the weekend of Oct. 13th. I'm sure some investigating can be done;)
There was also mention made of the fact that the GM of GL wasn't available for the Q&A or would walk away from any questions from participants in the GOCC event.
As I live only 15 min. from MA I would welcome TH but hate to see it as a loss to another park. I was at GOCC's FFO last weekend and it was my first trip to GL. Had a great time there on all their coasters and could only imagine having X and SV there as well.
I will be at MA for their season close this weekend and will try to corner Camille about the rumors. I will also be watching for any signs of construction and post it ASAP.

I only quoted what she told me. I rode the snot out of WW the year it opened and I know when the last 4 were built as I watched them go up. Any connection to what she said would be that WW and ST are the two largest in the park.
But I would take another woody just the same, Who doesn't like a good, big woody?

Well, she only mentioned the woodies, so that must mean that in 2008 they'll get a woodie. It's only logical. ;)

I suppose that, since Dominator has a longer track layout & greater distance to travel to it's new home in Va. that it'll start coming down first.

With the markers showing up at KD in the general area where Dominator is said to be installed it seems like it might be a done deal as far as the relocations go.

Well it looks like everything is coming to pass & that KD & MIA will be scoring new coasters for 2008 unfortunately at GL's expense.I suppose that, since Dominator has a longer track layout & greater distance to travel to it's new home in Va. that it'll start coming down first.
Not to mention a park that opens earlier in the year.
So, two coasters in 06, two in 07, seems like a trend. What two coasters are on the chopping block next year*
*I say that only half in jest because I really am beginning to mistrust CF's plans for the park and I believe that the GP and locals will not be happy with more rides leaving. Also, I think that perhaps a certain Pittsburgh Park could really play up the angle about how they add a ride every year while maintaining their history.

Nah... "the park that's closer doesn't come close." Remember? ;)
Hi
MiA ($24.00): water park (included), 4 up-charge attractions, 6 kiddie rides, 15 flat-rides, 6 coasters (2 kiddie coasters), 3 water rides, 0 shows
WoF ($49.95 combo ticket): water park (separate fee), 3 up-charge attractions, 12 kiddie rides, 19 flat-rides, 6 coasters (1 kiddie coasters), 3 water rides, 5 shows
VF ($35.95): water park (included), 3 up-charge attractions, 12 kiddie rides, 21 flat-rides, 7 coasters (1 kiddie coasters), 3 water rides, 6 shows
GL ($26.95): water park (included), 3 up-charge attractions, 12 kiddie rides, 18 flat-rides, 8 coasters (1 kiddie coasters), 3 water rides, 3 shows
If the 2 rumored coasters get removed, GL attraction mix will be similar to WoF at over $20 less to enter, even though it’s attendance is rumored to be comparable to MiA.
To me that indicates that the removals will probably end after these 2 coasters and the rebuilding will probably begin. Also the value of these rides will be transferred from the receiving parks to GL, because each park is it’s own legal entity own by the parent company.

How can we forget -- Jeff and I ranted about that in the podcast, even :)
The really funny thing is, that campaign completely backfired on them. I know every one of my nonenthusiast friends that saw that ad (especially the billboard just down the street from Kennywood itself) was flat-out mad at GL for that one. "You can advertise, but don't attack MY park!" was the typical reaction. Among my friends, that ad was responsible for more visits to KENNYWOOD, not GL...
