Two more out the door at Geagua Lake?

^ Well, they're specific to B&M inverts too. I'm not sure why they're specific to inverts.

Was just wondering how the attendance was at GL, and your opinion on Big Dipper and Villain, if you got on them.

Aside from a nasty jolt at the bottom of the first drop, Big Dipper was running great! Short lines most of the day and two train operation made numerous rerides possible.

Villian might be slightly better than last year but still a far cry from how it used to be during its first couple of years. It's rideable but I wouldn't want to marathon on it.

There was a healthy crowd, though most of it was in the waterpark. No significant lines except for the log flume and, curiously, Thunderhawk.

Raging Wolf Bobs doesn't like it's been touched since the incident. About half the support cables for the high turnaround are disconnected for some reason.

(trying to steal Ascough's thunder)

What from I heard GL has seen a big jump this year and were doing pretty well. I heard that the park looks better. Thunderhawk just got a new paint job which parks tend to do before moving a coaster. Think of it this way, when you move a coaster you dont have time to paint it before opening day, so before you move it you paint it. Yea if it does getted moved it will be touced up but not fully painted. Their is only 2 more weeks, so maybe an anoucement in september.

^X-Flight was painted after it was moved. I think the same also holds true for S-Venom.
Wasn't Thunderhawk painted like two seasons ago?

I'm pretty sure Thunderhawk was repainted two years ago. Looks nice, IMHO... even though GL has too many yellow-tracked roller coasters.

If I don't get around to posting a TR, see what millrace said. He was there and he said pretty much what I was going to say with a lot more words.

And the park doesn't look better. It looks about the same minus a few rides. If anything, the park feels incomplete but I can't quite put my finger on it.

The band organ from the carousel is gone. Just the facade is there. I hope they haven't given up on it.

Oh, and watch out for the surly parking attendants.

Yes because if you heard it on the Internet, it must be true.

So let me get this straight. When a park paints a roller coaster, that usually means they are going to move it? Iron Dragon and WildCat at Cedar Point were recently painted and they didn't go anywhere. FunSpot painted their Zyklon a few years back and it is still there. If that's what parks tend to do, could you name a few coasters that have been painted and then moved to another park?

Remind me again why I should take your post seriously? If it does "getted moved"? Sweet Fancy Moses...

Thunderhawk was painted for the 2005 season.

And attendence has been on the upswing.

KI's King Cobra was painted within 2 years of its final season.
Why is the attendance riding the Yo-Yo?

You forgot, Corkscrew was painted from white to black in the 80s at Geauga Lake... and look where it is now!

Hello, Hello! (hola!) I rode a ride named Vertigo!-with apologies to U2

When will someone decide that CP becomes an overblown park also? Does anyone ever think that CP will become too big for it's self?

I have to comment because you make a very good point here.

I think that since Cedar Fair know the coaster count wars have ended they might as well throw in the towel on some of their older, less popular coasters and rides.
Some of them, with their age and problems have become a liability anyway, as much as I hate to see any ride removed, it could be their next step into reducing company debt and reusing space, as we've seen with the whole WWL/Mavrick installation.

I mean really, how much longer are they going to choose to care for Mean Steeak, anyway?

I think the problem for Cedar Point is the fact that they probably won't want to take down there older coasters that barely get a line, and keep on adding more to prove that they have the most coasters. I think rides like Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Iron Dragon, and Mean Streak have had there time enough at the park, and should be demolished. I say get rid of Magnum too, but not many will agree with me because it's tall, and it has a significant in many people's hearts.

Come on now get rid of the Magnum? it's the best coaster at the park and it also started all the new innovation you see now at amusement parks. I also don't see any reason to get rid of Iron Dragon either. CCNR and MS you could get rid of them I have no prob. with that. You could also get rid of DT unless they open it up again and call it Avalanche Run again.
Wait a minute here. Are we honestly supposed to believe that millrace was in a "corporate" park? Or is that just another one of those nasty unfounded rumors you read on the Internet?
I was there strictly for research purposes (and Big Dipper which is one of those corporate anomolies that I need to ride before it gets Cedar Faired). ;)
Cedar Faired? Do you have the copyright on that verb? If you don't, I wanna use it too.

^ I don't know if the verb is copywritten, but I think the official "Cedar Faired Emblem" (a cement truck paving over grass as it sits stopped on a trim break) is.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
I thought I was stealing it from "Six Flagged" that used to be popular around here. (Or was that just my imagination?)
Yes, it does seem like the Six Flags bashing has dropped off considerably around here. Guess there's only room for one 'villain' at a time. ;)

I thought it was a gravel field with a felled tree in the background and a steel coaster (relocated from Geauga Lake, no doubt) rising in the foreground.

^with fresh paint, right?
