Two 4D coasters coming to two northeastern parks?

I hope that the rumor is true.

Nothing more that I would love to see more 4D's.

92 feet small? Not really. The only thing that must be done to keep it as intense as a 292 foot tall ride is make every turn, twist, and flip in the track that much smaller. Tighter elements at slower speeds will produce the same forces as large elements at high speeds. If anyone thinks a coaster must be tall to be good, goto Big Chief's and take 2 rides on Cyclops. The lift isn't even 80 feet tall, but the ride is the sweetest thing since consentrated sugar (has that even been invented yet?)

Wasn't there a 4D shuttle that was in Amusment Today? I think I remember people talking about that. Anyone know that one's stats?

TrBigger, that "4D shuttle" you are talking about is the Vekoma 'HammerHead Stall' prototype coaster. It's not a 4D because it does not run on a seperate set of railing and the actual chassis I believe, turns around to face the other direction.
No, kraxleraidah, thats not what I'm talking about. I've seen the hammerhead stall. I specifically recall someone talking about a 4D shuttle. I know it was because a few people were mentioning how difficult it would be to design something like that just because of the sheer size of each car.

LMAO, TrBiggar...I can see people defending Goliath's 150ft height as not being small, but 92ft for a multi inversion steel coaster? It's small, no matter how you slice it.

Your example of Big Chief's coasters doesn't help you. Those coasters are also small.

I wasn't saying *anything* about quality of the ride. I was soley talking about how small it was. Please stop with the "it doesn't have to be tall to be good." We've all heard that hundreds of times.

I'll say it again, wow, 92ft tall for a 4-D is pretty small. Can't wait for someone to buy another one!

X looses alot of speed as it is because of the 3rd and 4th wheel assemblies creating more friction. I doubt any amount of speed created from a 92' drop would be enough to get around the course!

What I don't understand is how can they leave off the skydive drop on the Mayhem version. Even though I have never ridden X, the skydive drop seems like the dang coolest element on the entire ride. I just don't see why anyone would buy that version because it has the least amount of elements out of them all and isn't all that tall either.

just a sort of guess, IF the rumor is true, a Northeast park that has a rep for "less intense" coasters, might have saved a little up from a less expensive investment this year on a REALLY fasmily-style coaster....hmm, a 4-D, sounds kinda "sweet", DOESN'T it? As for the impending naming contest...;)...I'm keeping mine a secret....

Now that would leave one other Northeast park, would it? How about one in the SF chain that has the gate necessary to afford one perhaps? Probably one of the more "intense" versions for this park than for the other one, though...and for THIS one's name, let's go with something "creative" and call it.....X!

Florida needs an Intamin and/or CCI soon...Please!

seasupersonic: I have the catalouge from Arrow, that's why.
A Northeastern park could be SFWoA, SFDL, SFNE, SFGAdv, SFA, or Great Escape. It's waaaaayyy too early to start geussing at where they will go-if this is even true. I'm crossing my fingers because I would rather have a 100' 4D instead of no 4D at all. I geus we'll just have to wait and enjoy the 2002 season, and then we can start debating where these things will go, hehe.

SFWoA isn't Northeastern, but it and SFGAdv would be the parks that would probably get the 4Ds, or SFGAdv and SFGAm, like someone else said. (If the rumors are true, which they probably are not)

A Vekoma SLC would do Nebraska wonders! :-)

That site has BS rumors they said that GAdv was gettin a drop ride and a woodie but there are not. I dont trust there sources.

True, some of the rumors are, but a surprising number of them have turned into reality. Most all of them come from different submitters.

We post all of the rumors submitted... I knew from the beginning that the SFGAd woodie rumor was bogus, but bogus or not, all of them are included.

As for this rumor, I think that there is a chance that it may very well come true. At this point it's one of the stronger rumors out there.

I don't see why rumors are even posted on a website, being that they are just rumors, and half of them aren't true. I personally don't like to read rumors, and I find them as trash because most of them are as fake as Britney Spears. Oh yeah, how did you get that Arrow catalogue? I'd love to get my hands on one of those.

I think that it would go to SFWoA and Great Escape. Don't ask why, I just got a feeling.

Danish_d, if you could tell us if we can get one of those Arrow catalogs, it would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to glance at one of those.

Rumors are cool to think about, imagine, and discuss. The key is not to get your hopes up for anything because it may not come true. Otherwise I think rumors are fun as long as they are legit.

Goliath's LIFT height is around 170-190 FT, not 150 FT because the station sits about 30 FT above ground. The maximum height which is used in determining a coaster's official height is measured from the tallest point on the ride to the bottom of that tallest point. That would measure 235 FT for Goliath. Sorry CoasterGuy, but Six Flags America isn't in the northeast.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.
