As for speeding it up, i don't think they will have to because heavier trains go higher (newton 2nd law?)

No, the train can't make it to the top. The other side of the top hat is there for support and decoration.
What about "frying" the Japanese? They just made record-breakers. I don't think they were trying to make "better" ones than the US has. Besides, it's all a matter of opinion which is better than the other.
