From what I hear, the top hat will not be identical to the one on Xcelerator.

I think I'd like one like Xcellerator's.... Going fast over the top like that and seeing everything below you... and I get chills when I think of the possible airtime!

Rollergator.. 420 feet is not too tall.. trust me ;)
I heard the "tophat" or the "twisting up and over" element (phrase used by Intamin) would be a 90 degree turning one instead of a 180 like XC. Basically a vertical climb into a twist, over the top and straight down.

So the "most coasters at one park" record comes back to the point in 2003?-----------------

Actually, there is going to be another 16-16. Six Flags Inc. made a statement that four of their 1/3 breadwinners, including Magic Mountain will receive a major attraction in 2003.
I said from the beginning that the ride would settle various records and such, and I also said that there'd be one aspect that I know people will complain about. What do you suppose that will be?
What a strange coincidence that I was going to the park tonight... ;)

I also agree with Gator about 420 being too tall. You would need a strong launch for it to make that height. Hypersonic flies at 80 and crawls at the apex of a 165 foot hill. I may be wrong....but I think it'll be in the 300's at most
EDIT: True gator....I didn't read your last post. STE launches at 100 and goes about 2/3 up the 415' spike. go figure.

You know, you really only need a 330'-340' climb or drop to break the record. STE only has a 328' drop if it hit the very tippy top.

They wanna just go ahead and get the coaster breaking the 400ft barrier though. I mean, since they have the chance now, they might as well and secure that title. Cause no one can take that away;)
Chris Godsey, I hope the type of top hat you're talking about will be true. I would honesly like going straight down the whole time, instead of twisting down. Whatever the tophat will be like though, you can bet i'll be drooling this off season.
What do enthusiasses usually complain about? Lack of airtime and short track lengths.
I very excited here in Nevada, a new ride of this sort is just what we need right now. Who gives a crap about coaster counts and such. This is great stuff...

Uh oh. No! No! That would really be the one thing that I would hate, if this ride had OTSR!! No! God no! lol.
I would still complain about lack of airtime and a short circuit but the OTSR would really tick me off!

Rollergator, I have said this earlier in former posts.. Remember, that the Launch track will more than likely be on a upward slope like XC. With that said, the vertical ascent would probably start in the 40-50 foot range. So, take 50 feet off of 420 and you have something that is very doable physics wise. Also, there will be some other "surprises" in store. The trains will indeed be a tad longer and there will be the standard 3 trains in use bringing up the capacity a bunch.
Those stats are pretty accurate from what I've heard. I have my sources for information.... ;)

I would bet that in predictable Intamin launcher fashoin (save California Screamin) that the length of the ride will be the major complaint. We will probably be able to confirm this once we see the majority of the track.
Although I am fairly confident it is not, wouldn't it be funny if it was a 420' shuttle?! Think about it, it could probably reach that high without having to crest a hill, and it would put S:TE to shame, though in a very ironic manner. With the short lines Wicked Twister is finding, I doubt it is a duel track / dueling coaster of any sort.

Calvin are you trying to spoil everybody's fun? j/k.......although you could be right, but I really hope you aren't.
BTW.......I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but how better can you display American pride than with 2 towers?
