track sighted at Cedar Point!!

Cedar Point may have to build a booth near this coaster to sell Depends. ;)

The best view (aside from the causeway) is from the Edison Bridge on Route 2.

Also, it's been posted on GTTP that more track pieces have appeared behinds Mean Streak, including another large yellow support. Still no blue track.

Ya know what would be funny... If the new ride was a MF Junior.

Sit up right, hold on tight!

I was compareing the track to the seizmic track and the look almost a like but with a few altuercations!¡!:)
Son of Beast, I said it before you, and still am thinking about it, but it doesn't seem likely. Also, even though Jeff said it won't race, wouldn't a dragster be like a drag race, high speed, out of control feeling, some sort of Dueling coaster. Just a though, but not likely.

Altercations? So this new track has been in a few fights?

Ooooh, tough...I like it already! ;)

Dorney Park visits in 2002: 16

I wasn't saying before that big rides aren't cool. I think MF and Goliath are great rides. The point I'm trying to make is that the layout of the ride is going to matter more to me than how tall and fast it is because anybody can design something 400 feet tall, but the real genius is shown in the ride's design.

Actually CPLady, if you've ever been to Battery Park (right on the bay, just off of US 6), you would see THE best view of the park :) You get the exact same view as the banner on cedarpoint.com.

Also, I was at CP today and there are now 2 giant yellow supports back by Mean Streak, plus more pieces of red track.

While I personally have no clue what it is going to be, I still think the idea of two side by side dueling rocket coasters would be awesome, especially if themed to a drag race scenario, complete with xmas tree lights in the station, RED - YELLOW - YELLOW - YELLOW - GREEN - LAUNCH!

Ah, anyways, it was a cool thought, someone with good rendering skills should do a mock up to see how cool it would look. A mesh-covered peep walkway over the launch in the queue would be sweet too!

I still say I got your attention.

Hate to burst your bubble, but no...you didn't say anything we haven't heard before.

OK I have looked at xcelerators pictures and the supports are the same as the supports behind the mean streak. The two different track colors are definately there cause this will be a drag racing dualing coaster. Hence the name dragster. I am not sure where everybody got the 400+ foot height guesses from but I hope this will be the case. My other gripe is that I hope it will be longer than xcelerator. I still say that MF should of gone out over Sandusky Bay in a huge out and back design similar to Steel Dragon 2000. But the twister layout is nice but Im just partial to out and backs. The water view would be in tense also.
Bussey, it is not a dueling/racing coaster.....sorry.

It is possible that this could just be two small dueling rockets?

Nah. I hope they go for it all!

somebody at sixflagsnews.com/ said cedar point got permission to build up to 450 feet. I wouldnt be surprised if they went that high so they could beat Superman easily.
What about the idea of two rocket versions of S:TE? It would explain the two track colours and the Dragster thing on the label. Somebody at GTTP threw that one up. (however i still believe the Xcelerator clone gossip)

I'm sure people have seen the picture over on Screamscape of the covered "trains" or whatever they are that are supposedly under the Mantis transfer track I think it was, anybody have any gossip on those?

-----------------

The covered train underneath Mantis is Mantis' 3rd train. The big bug is only running 2 train operation, so they're keeping the 3rd one in storage right there.

A 450ft Reverse Top Hat? I'd say it would need to be launched at 150mph or more just to get over that element!
When launching at such high speeds, like lets say 110!¡! Wouldnt that not only take a toll on your body but when the cart is launched with leaning forward( I know why would anyone do that but theres always someone that will) couldnt that cause major damage to your neck ad possibly give you whip lash!¡!
