Well people around SFAW have been hoping for a new ride for quite a while (and I hope they don't get left out in 03)but SFA is in a different leauge than SFAW is.
SFA isn't as good as let's say SFMM or SFGRADV but then again it's no SFEG or SFAW either.(not that SFEG & SFAW are bad parks mind you) =)
I'm sure we'll be seeing something next year and a B&M would do nicely,it's all up to corporate and not up to us to decide just what they are getting ,we'll have to wait and see.
Oh please don't group us in with SFEG. They're a small park, we're a medium tier park.
What I find absolutely hilarious is that Six Flags has already stated quite emphatically they're spending roughly what.. $125 million in capital funds, and we know from their earnings report call that their top 4 sites are getting attractions, dallas.. chicago.. new jersey... etc.. I find it very funny that some people are still living in 2000 thinking Six Flags is doing this massive coaster expansion. Face facts people, they put in a bunch of stuff, and now, they're gonna let the parks go to hell while they take in a profit.
LOL, Jeremy....those hints were just "super," man.

LOL! Wow, [Jeremy & Moosh] now *that's* dropping hints! Surprising move I'd say, didn't see that one coming for some reason.
I'll agree that it's a damn good addition then. ;) Custom or clone-age?

Hey I was just at SFA today and while talking with a ride op over at mind eraser he did mention something about a poison ivy themed coaster being added in 03.
We'll find out sooner or later what we're getting but we're getting something, you can count on that.
One thing that supposed to come in the future is a family coaster(preferably mine train) and that probably is it if it is true....

Nah, that's just SFAW. ;)

That's what I'm thinking it's gonna be but I sure hope it's not,all the rumors are pointing to either a floorless or impulse coaster in 03.
Keep in mind that the ride ops aren't 100% sure what's going on,they know no more or less than the usual rumor suspects (cough lemon chill guy/dippin dots guy cough) so we gotta keep our fingers crossed and hope we get something good in 03.
Next week the PG county planning board comes back from their august recess,if any rides are planned for 03 by SF they first must be approved by the county so I'll try to find any info and keep track of the parks construction plans via the PG county planning board's website.
Legendary - don't know for sure, but knowing Paramount they'll saturate PGA with a clone.

Hey, I "get it" this time! They're getting a Tomb Raider, right?

Back to SFA though and the rumored (i.e. not necessarily set in stone) 125mil #, remember 125mil could *still* buy about 10 large coasters and have a little left over, including a mix of floorless and impulses. If you throw in a family coaster or a GCI woodie in there, you could strech that even farther. There is enough money for a significant portion of the parks to get some "funky things to play with" (TM-Bootzilla).
I'd still like SFA to figure out how to run EVERYTING to capacity and add a bathroom by Batwing before they do anything else though ;)

Jeremy - I agree, and I also think SF went bargain hunting and snatched up more than Gambit when that park in Japan closed. I'd be willing to bet every new flat the chain gets this year comes from the east ;-)

I hope you're off by a little 'moosh.....don't get me wrong, a little bargain-hunting would be great for the SF bottom-line, but I'm seeing some newer flats that really get me "excited".
But in regards to these "hints" that are falling like rain from the sky, I give "buckets" of applause to parks for getting these....

Judging by the majority of the WOOD, I'd say their maintenance budget could use an "upgrade"....then again, personnel is kinda lacking, too....maybe the cap-ex is too HIGH....
bill, making enemies of enthusiasts everywhere...:)
Vertigo:
The capital budget is not for ride maintenance. Maintenance is an operating expense. Claim maintenance as capital and you can join some World Com execs in jail. (At least they ought to go there)
Work on an existing ride can only be claimed as capital if it significantly extends the life of the ride. However, that $125 million would include new sewers, bathrooms, major repaving of parking lots, new offices, etc. not just new rides.
Yeah, they are recieving lo-que in 03 so I'm sure they'll add a new major ride such as the rumored coaster to test it on.
Has anyone also noticed the new fastlane center on main street 1776? fastlane sales are no longer done in the Flag shop anymore.
I was looking at some pics on sfa-source.com of the area where python's track is and if you look closely at the area you'll see that if they just flatten those hills & remove python's track from the area that the site has great potential for expansion,I think if they did that a couple of good flats or maybe a portion of next year's coaster can fit in there.
