Track Pieces Seen at SFA

Shipping Containers...who the hell says it has to be track? It could be parts for a massive bathroom...who knows

No Limits is every enthusiasts best friend! :)

It is still too early to determine what might be coming to the park, if anything at all. Should just enjoy the rest of the season and as more unfolds, then more speculation can take place. Usually track comes on flatbeds, not shipping containers. So right now, those containers could have something in them, or could have nothing in them. Enjoy the riding now, enjoying the viewing in the off season.

I'll enjoy the viewing during the off season, that is if there's anything to view.

Of course I took a peek at all the construction for 02 on the web and couldn't help but feel a little jealous, well maybe in 03 it'll be SFA's turn to shine, and a new restroom is a good place to start.

I can no longer resist...B & M must be the only roller coaster manufacturer that can build a stand up 140 ft tall and 3000 feet long. Do they have a patent on that???

I have absolutley no clue as to what is in the containers, and could probably care less, however beleive it or not, plush takes up a lot of room (but then again, so do 300 toilets) WOF stores their plush in the caves and it is very, very large. Also, next time you win a plush, take a whiff of it. That noxious smell would be the cave smell that permeates permanently into them. (those of you who have been into the caves know what this means) But if you visit KC, take a trip to Subtropolis...the largest working cave complex.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

Even if there aren't ride parts in that container, which I am starting to believe, I still think that SF won't let SFA go another year without adding anything new, even if it is just a small ride. They need something to compete with PKD's new drop ride, and even if it is something like that, it will still do.

That's exactly what I said earlier in this thread.

I'm sure SFA's getting something in 03,be it a coaster or a flat ride, they are getting something that's for sure.

If SF has half a brain I'm sure they won't allow the park to go 2 years in a row with nothing new when they've got competiton from PKD in the form of a drop tower, while SFA already has the same basic type of ride PKD's version might prove just enough of a threat to SF's Baltimore /DC market.

I know if I had my choice I'd certainly choose PKD's drop tower over SFA not adding something any day.

I've heard some possible new information on the park.

While checking out another SFA topic on another board a member there said that they talked with an SFA employee regarding 2003 attractions and the employee was quoted as saying "we can't tell you anything yet,it's a surprise just stay tuned to your local news in december for more info" .

I don't know for sure if there's gonna be an announcement or not because SF usually announces new rides in february, but this does sound interesting, also they unloaded one of those containers and from what I heard it contained vendsing machines so that rules out the possibility of ride parts having arrived just yet.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! THANK GOD! this is gonna be great, with pkd and it's new drop ride and sfa's new one... now all we need is to spot wooden track at BGW and I will officially explode

Bad news for BGW,all they are getting is Haunted Lighthouse project, same for BGT.

I heard that on screamscape this morning while checking to see if anything came up on SFA,I might submit to them the latest that I've heard about a possible announcement or media release scheduled for december.

Since when was Screamscape a reliable source? Their claim to fame is rumors, not fact.

(although I must admit the site is enjoyable to read)

Matt, It said that the Haunted Lighthouse was confirmed by BGW's local newspaper. Sometimes Screamscape has confirmed news as well.

Although I will agree that most of it is rumors and that it is a lot of fun to read.

sorry, I should have noted that my comment was not refferring to the Lighthouse, simply a generalization of using Screamscape as a source.

Why would a relocated ride come directly from B&M? Sure, they may need some parts, but Jazzland's is not a new one.

I never knew so many liked stand-ups. I've yet to ride one I'd ever get back on(PKD Shockwave, PC Vortex, GA Scorcher, & Mantis).

So, just because BGW is getting a new 4-D film rules out a new coaster as well? That doesn't make sense. The park already has a 4-D attraction, so all Haunted Lighthouse would take is a little re-tooling of the existing attraction. That shouldn't be too costly and I would think a new woodie could also be put in for a few extra million.

After all, ACE has a history of having events at parks that are getting or have just gotten a new coaster.

Moosh - fingers crossed.

SFA is getting a coaster in 03 and it will be located behind Batwing.

There are alot of inside sources,in particular a few park employees who have given out this info,no word yet on what type it is yet but we should be seeing track/supports on site by mid to late october.

It would be really early to be seeing ride parts arriving for SFA. They construct coasters really quickly (I think Batwing took them a little more than a month from clearing to completion - not to operation though). Yes, their plot of land extends out beyond Batwing, so the park will most probably continue to move that way.

Moosh, the article said that the new film would replace the Pirates show in the globe theater in the front of the park. It is not replacing Corkscrew Hill (a very good ride IMO). I hope BGW drops a wooden coaster where Drachen Fire sat (also has a nice wood station to boot).

What I don't understand is why they kep putting rides further and further back without linking another path to that area of the park. Even though that is where all their space may be, the should at least construct another path or build some sort of tram ride to get back there. I know they use the train for private picnics, but something similar would be helpful!

SFA has areas available for coaster exapnsion between SROS and Batwing, north of Batwing and north of the path leading to Batwing. However, the next location used may be determined by the terrain rather than the closest location.

ROFLMAO....that is TOO funny, esp. coming out of SoCal....

A LOT of SF parks are recieving "containers" right now...all of the truck container type. SFWoA has recieved 24 of them.

Is it a new coaster? Don't know. The containers PROBABLY hold Frightfest stuff in them to the best of my knowledge with out even being at the park. We'll see soon.
