Track Pieces Seen at SFA

I read on Screamscape (i hope i am not violating the TOS by doing this) that there have been some blue shipping containers arriving at SFA. Usually track pieces are shipped on flatbeds, but similar containers are being used to ship the B&M parts to Jazzland. Hopefully, this will mean a big new attraction at SFA this next season!

I find it interesting that this topic has come up yet again after it was closed so quickly on the buzz yesterday.

We'll have to wait & see if it's for a coaster or not,I've been hearing that we may get a family coaster in Gotham next year but I'm still hoping for an impulse or floorless,in yesterday's thread I heard that the containers were for prizes related to the midway games but they've already got a container for that sitting next to JJ's brakerun so I doubt it.

Either way SFA will be recieving something big because their attendance has increased by 9% this year.

Also I recall hearing somewhere that these same containers have begun showing up at SFGRAdv as well and we all know they're getting something big.

oh, I had no idea it was closed or that there was even a topic like this. Sorry. But hopefully e will see oemthing. I too am hoping for an impulse or a floorless. I think I'd be more happy with the impulse though, but as long as they get something, I will be happy.

You rather have a impulse then a B:DK clone?

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK

Well I saw the SFA topic yesterday and was rather dissappointed that it had been closed when we've got a CP topic which is somewhat speculative at this point but has over 200 + posts in it.

I think the reason for closing the SFA topic yesterday is because unlike CP, which has track on site we havn't actually seen what's in the containers at SFA yet,at this point it's still a rumor as to what SFA's getting and rumors aren't really welcome on the buzz all that much.

Anyhow I think we've got a shot at getting a new coaster in 03,what it is we don't know yet, what I do know is that earlier this year SFA did get approval by the county for some sort of land work invloving 118 acres which amounts to 3 parcels of land.

As soon as the PG planning board comes back from their august recess I'll be checking to see if the park has requested any permits for construction, then we'll know for sure what we're getting in 03.

Yes....yes I think I would! I mean, we can go up the road a piece to get a flooless, but you've got to travel hundreds of miles to get to the nearest impulse. Besides an "X" type ride, we have just about everything else out here; hypers, flyers, launchers, out n backs, twisters, inverts, suspended... An impulse would be decent.

Of course, I'd rather have a stand up or a HUSS Delerium, but that's just me :)

I brought up the same topic yesterday and was rudely taunted by several members. I believe that it will be a standup considering that there aren't any decent stand-ups within 6 hours of driving. I apologize for my rude comments yesterday, but I find that I was obviously provoked by others and my comments were in the interest of self defense. If people think they can boss me around because I'm new, they should find out more about how much stuff I know about roller coasters and how nice I am when people are respectful.

My first choice would be a stand-up. (preferably B&M). Then a floorless. I prefer the floorless over the impulse only because it will result in shorter lines. Impulses can get long lines if not done right (and seeing that we are talking about SFA, "not done right" is a good possibility) and I don't want to spend an hour and a half waiting in line for next years new coaster.

Honestly, I have no clue what is in those containers, but it could be absolutely anything...So I am going to hold off all hopes until I see coaster track.

Happy Coastering!

Sean

The containers have been there a long time. They are prizes for the games. And besides, none of the guesses are even real close.

The problem with this thread [and I am not a moderator] is the subject. Track pieces have NOT been seen at SFA, only containers. The subject is misleading.

ANYTHING... and I do mean anything... could be in "containers". I wouldn't get too excited until you see actual peices of track or construction begun.

This has the potential to turn into a "rumor" thread... or at the very least a SFA wish list thread.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

You guys hit the nail directly on the head. Those containers could hold a bunch of toilets for full fledged bathroom remodeling project. Now that would certainly deserve all of the speculation.

bigboy, now THAT is comedy....I've been "hammering away" on SFA's *restroom project* for quite awhile now....

Of course, since SFGAdv has the same containers, games' prizes would be a possibility....or maybe they're just BOTH getting a new 4-d....;)

Or maybe they're the prizes for the "guess the coaster" game!

If I'd have to guess, I'd say it's part of the flat ride package from Japan.

It's not track. Jazzland is the exception because that is a used coaster. As said before, it's probably toilets.

I'm not 100% sure that the containers are loaded with toilets.

I'm sure other bathroom fixtures could be included as well: urinals, soap and paper towel dispensers, diaper changing tables, or timed air freshener dispensers. There's even the possiblity that it includes a case or two of urinal wafers.

sorry but how would you know. Do you know what they are getting? I have 3 friends that work there and they say there is a really good chance for an impulse. yes i know i cant really go by what people say at the park because they are always wrong but this time i think they may be right.

coasterking says:

"yes i know i cant really go by what people say at the park because they are always wrong but this time i think they may be right."

LOL...nice logic. Do you know what "always wrong" means?

Let's not forget that the park needs to get permission for height varience from the city to build large projects like a coaster. It would be very easy to check if such a request has been asked and/or granted.

Like I said earlier the PG county planning board is currently in recess so we won't know anything until at least september.

Those containers could hold just about anything and maybe we'll be seeing track arriving some time in late october,it is after all still only late august.

I was there back on the 10th and I didn't see these containers at all so they've gotta be new and plus why would they recieve a shipment of "plushes" in 30 containers?my guess would be at the most maybe 2 or 3 containers max for plushes.

SFA is overdue for a new ride because the novelty of Batwing can't last forever and it's already going down, that and SF has said they'd be focusing their expenditures on parks that performed well this year and from what I've read SFA has done real good with a 9% increase in attendance, that's higher than SFMM which only got up to a 6% increase in attendance thus far.

Only time will tell what SFA is getting but I'm sure we'll see something big in 03,that's my prediction, there's no way SF will let SFA go 2 years in a row without getting something.
