there's no way SF will let SFA go 2 years in a row without getting something.
People around SFAW have been saying that for years.
-----------------
"Look, we all go way back, and uh, I owe you from the thing with the guy in the place and I'll never forget it." "That was our pleasure." "I'd never been to Belize."
So now you've concluded that Vekomas and B&M's can't operate in the same park. Man, SFWoA must really be messed up. They've got 3 Vekomas and a B&M. We sure wouldn't want them to do the same thing to SFA.
Parts for the machines that clean the park? Now that's funny. Perhaps the containers contain cases of elbow grease.
Well people around SFAW have been hoping for a new ride for quite a while (and I hope they don't get left out in 03)but SFA is in a different leauge than SFAW is.
SFA isn't as good as let's say SFMM or SFGRADV but then again it's no SFEG or SFAW either.(not that SFEG & SFAW are bad parks mind you) =)
I'm sure we'll be seeing something next year and a B&M would do nicely,it's all up to corporate and not up to us to decide just what they are getting ,we'll have to wait and see.
Why I''m sticking with a B+M standup:
-The blue boxes have been seen at three parks, 1 has been confirmed as a b+m, the other two are rumored to be....couldn't this be new packaging for B+M parts?
-Six Flags America doesn't have any top 10 steel coasters and if they want to keep the crowds coming like they did this year, six flags should build a good ride at sfa
-SFA doesn't do any landscaping, so the money they are funded with has to go somewhere other than waste disposal

In the past few years, there have been speculations about SFA putting in a B&M stand-up roller coaster. Could this be it? Who knows. But I'm a bit skeptical since the last B&M stand-up was put in almost 3-4 years ago.
I haven't ridden all the coasters on Earth, so I can't answer you in that respect. However of the 295 coasters I've ridden in the US, Mexico, Canada, and Europe - including 80 woodies - I rank Wild One in my Top 10. I know others who do as well.
The fact of the matter is, it doesn't matter what your *or* I think about SFA's coasters. Whether or not they have one that ranks Top 10 in the official polls [Amusement Today, Mitch's] has no effect on getting a new coaster. The park will get one when they feel the time is right and they receive the budget to do so.
Lastly, what makes you think a stand-up would be the one to finally give them a Top 10 coaster? What other Stand-ups do you see ranked in the Top 10 in Mitch's Steel Poll or in the Amusement Today poll?

But Dub-G, what makes you think that SFA really even *wants* people from 10hrs away to visit? With attendance being up 9% over last year, I think that the caliber of coasters they have in the park are more than decent enough for the local (within 3 hours drive) crowds. While *we* may refer to it as "Batjunk" or "X-Crap", the fact is that people like it. Really, the only thing *crappy* about the rides is that they dont work nearly often enough. But I've yet to hear a non-enthusiast get off and say "THAT SUCKED"! I'm sure it happens, but not nearly as much as "That was sooooo cool", "WOW", and "Canwegoagain?"
Besides, a B&M standup likely wouldnt make a top ten list either. I just want one because I think they are cool! Plus "T" wants to ride a stand up and I like her too much to take her on PKD's Shockwave or to subject her to the horribleness that is SFKK to ride a good one!
And I'd go so far as to say that S:ROS is the best steel coaster in the region (streching from SFGAdv in the north, KennyWood in the west and BGW in the south), and indeed one of the best in the country and on earth. I mean, it definitely doesnt SUCK!!

Well I heard in another thread here on the buzz regarding SFSTL that so far onlt 2 B&M's have been designed for the US market and both are flyers so at this point a floorless or stand up are looking less likely for SFA.
Of course this is just talk by another buzzer in a totally different thread and it's no more confirmed than what's going on now at SFA, there's still enough time & certainly enough cash in SF's pockets for one more B&M to be ordered so it's still a possibility that we'll see one coming to SFA,if not an impulse always remains a possibility for the park as well.
Either ride would be great for the park but of course I'm hoping for a B&M.
there's stuff at cp in blue wrapping that everybody assumes has to do with this new coaster they're getting. Can people just not accept that cp isn't the only park on earth?

Unlike a certain Zamperla Flyer where you hear that all the time! :(

Um, whatever you've been smoking, you might want to lay off.....no one even mentioned CP until you! :)
(By the way, no one is really wondering what those are. It's just the third Mantis train. It's been there all year)

I mentioned something on CP,it's the fourth post from the top.
Anyway if SFA get's an impulse man it would be so cool to ride at night in the dark! because it certainly would be built with minmal lighting except in the station.
I think that's what we'll get if we don't get a B&M,so far there are no double twisting versions ala WT @CP not to mention no impulses have been built in the east.
