Track at SFMM

It's NOT track for any new coaster, it's a CalTrans project to help people get around the I-5....;)
The colors are VERY nice, especially in person. Very vibrant. It will be so nice to see another B&M go up at SFMM this winter.

Guys, its almost 99% NOT a Flyer. Notice how the track is laying @ SFGAm? Yah, inverted style. You can damage track by trying to flip it over with a crane.

I agree wholeheartedly, Outkast. I rode Medusa at SFMW last year and can honestly sat that a new floorless coaster would be a great addition. When I got off that coaster, I instantly put it in my top five steel (they also have one of my top five woodies in Roar). Also, it won't be anything like Riddler's Revenge at all. Yes, you sit four across but the ride is totally unique. I'm sure that all of the people feeling a little disappointment about this possibly being a floorles will change their tune after one ride. The Superman floorless in Madrid does look awesome btw. I'd love to get a clone of that one.

Superman Madrid would be awesome if it was'nt trimmed to death.

Nice addition to Magic Mountain though. A reliable ride that the public will no doubt love as much as they do to X...

The track at SFMM is for a floorless. If you look at the pictures of the track, you can see that one (now two) of the pieces are station track for a floorless coaster (the mechanisims are there to open/close the floor).

The direction that track faces after its dropped off at a park has nothing to do with coaster type.

You're telling me they're going to flip a huge piece of track over with a crane? It will no doubt get damaged. Its much easier to just put the track the way it will sit on the construction site like the way I've seen in every other ride construction I've followed.

Why not a G-Tec Dive Machine? That strange piece seems irregular. With the existance of Riddler Revenge and X, I don't believe that they're going to add a floorless. They already have 2 inverteds a 4D and RR. Six Flags has been staying awa from building a stand up and floorless in the park for year for a good reason. Yes, I know that they are totally different experiences, but how they visually appeal to the audience? Been there, done that. Different chair on what looks like the same coaster doesn't seem like something Magic Mountain's going to do. I wouldn't be suprised if this is something totally unexpected.

Well, There are track pieces at Great America (Station track) facing upwards. From what I remember, track for Georgia's Superman came facing upwards as well.

What do you mean? Wasn't a Giovanola coaster introduced just two short years after RRv? They have almost identical track and "different chairs" but they're still different.

yeah, which pieces of track are face up? most likely always the brake runs and station track, everything else is upside down. the friction tires that are on that track is the same as on Raging Bull. (non-inverted coaster) so there is no definite proof that is anything just yet.

Floorless station track usually comes with the combs (floor sections) already installed.

I don't believe any station track has been delivered.

All that I see in the few photos is two section of brakes. I cannot determine whether it would be a flyer or floorless.

The dive machine track for G-Tec is not going to be as tight as the hyper track

. SFMW has a floorless, even though its not really close, I don't think they would do that.

Well, SFNE is about the same distance from SFGAdv. as SFMW is from SFMM (more of less :P) and both have floorlesses, hypers, and inverts. I don't think you can use Medusa West to rule out a floorless at SFMM.

You must be this dumb to ride Viper. -SFGAdv.

I remember seeing the hardware for Batman Knight Flight's station floors already installed... I have a vague memory of seeing the combs shrink-wrapped to the track... I'll try and find a picture...I could be wrong though :)

I was at the park yesterday, there are around six pieces of track; more coming each day. It is definately a Bolliger & Mabillard Floorless Coaster. All the pieces that've arrived are brake run and storage track.
