It appears that some yellow track & blue supports have been spotted at SFA,while riding Wild one a couple of people saw the track & supports which are being stored next to the cell phone tower behind Two face, and according to these sources the track was flat much like the sections on S:ROS just before the brake run so it could be wild mouse track or possibly track for an intamin mega looper.
Also according to sources there are orange markings on the ground in the southwest territory section of the park which are similar to those seen at VF in the parking lot marking the area for Steel venom's location,so this may very well be where SFA's new coaster will be located.
If anyone is going to SFA this weekend please be sure to check in the area I mentioned above and you should be able to see the track, the best viewing positions are on Wild one just as you enter the trims before the helix & tower of doom in the car which faces the operators booth.
So there you have it folks it looks like SFA will be seeing it's ninth coaster in 2003 and I'll be there to ride it. :-)

LIMs? Who needs them?
Medusafanatic,we don't know for sure if it's wild mouse track just yet,it might be intamin flat track similar to the sections on S:ROS's camelbacks just as you approach the brake run, perhaps as more track arrives we'll find for sure especially if any of the track is banked as you know wild mouse rides don't feature banked track sections.
Also according to sources a few supports appear to be similar to those that are on S:ROS's lift,if that's the case then we may be looking at a looping coaster most likely from intamin.

87 different coasters for this year and counting... 149 total!
While I did see the "something" that is being talked about, at this point it is mere speculation that Six Flags is getting a coaster. I'm not counting my chicks as we cross the road. As we saw with the blue containers and the Python track behind the hills between Batwing and S:ROS anything and everything is stored behind the scenes at Six Flags America. In fact, I would venture to say a few ex-employees might be back there after they revealed what the parks plans were for the following season (I believe they are the skeletons they hang on the buildings for Freight Fest)
I will be extremely busy this weekend, if I have the time I will see if I can hunt down the supposed land markings (all I heard about were the black boxes numbered 1, 2 and 3 by Wild One) and snap a couple of pictures of them.
BTW, those of you riding the rides on the evenings of Fright Fest, don't forget about Eleanor....

Well this is most likely true because why would anyone say they saw yellow track at SFA when both of the coasters in the park that even remotely match that color scheme are already up & running?
I'm going by the information that I've heard so far and after last years false speculation of green B&M track being spotted at the park I'm being a bit more cautious this time around.
I'll be at SFA on the 26th and if I see anything I'll post it here and then we'll know for sure that I'm correct about a new coaster for 2003anyway we are getting a new ride due to the parks increase in attendance this season.
Medusafanatic, yes I do visit SFA quite frequently during the season,I'm a season pass holder there and I'll definately be renewing my season pass for 2003.

Somebody tells you they have seen track, you haven't seen it yourself, and you come out declaring that SFA is getting a new coaster this year. This is cautious?

If the park had an increase in attendance, why would they need a new ride??? There are a number of SF parks that had a decrease, and therefore are receiving new rides in 2003 in order to increase the attendance. If the park did well, then SF can focus on the other parks that didn't do as well. You can't expect a park to build something every year. Most parks haven't seen anything new for a few years now. SFA has seen a number of new rides since it was branded a SF park, and its bringing the people in. So SF will focus on the other parks which are in need of help. Also remember, the Cap Ex is only at $125million for 2003, which doesn't leave a lot considering its known what some of the parks are getting already.

You wouldn't be able to see much of anything in that area after dark and why would anyone report having spotted track in the park if there isn't any?
Regarding SF's plans to add rides in 03 to parks that saw an increase in attenance in 02,I know it sounds kinda backwards for SF to only give new rides to the parks that did well but then again there is good reason, after all the company wants to invest in the parks that appear to have the most return on investment potential so it does seem logical for a new ride/coaster to be added next year.
IF there is a new coaster coming then we'll have to wait for the official announcement to be made during the off season, when it is made please don't say I didn't tell you so.
I'm wondering why it is that whenever there's news on SFA that I've posted no one seems to take it as seriously but whenever news of track being spotted at let's say SFMM or SFGRAM even without photographic proof then everyone seems to view it as proven fact?when Scoaster posted what he saw a while back his topic was closed just as fast as he posted it.
