Tomb Raider Goes Vertical!

I have been at PKI the past two weeks and have witnessed a very important change to the Tomb Raider site when I was at the park yesterday.  They had placed a lot of the steel framework of the building in place, and had a lot more to be place laying on the ground.  It is still hard to tell what the building will be for, but two of the columns, are quite tall, probably taller then KCKC`s highest point.  Also, it looked like there were more concrete forms in place on what was the foremer location of the queue/ exit of KCKC.  I believe that this will become the entrance to Tomb Raider the ride.  Also, for those of you who haven`t been to the park since the terrorist attacks, the park has placed a large American flag on the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Thank you for the TRTR updates. I have been waiting so long. I have questions for you and I thought you could answer them.

I have read that the queue line of Tomb Raider will be underground (guests will wait in line underground), will the queue line be underground? Will there be two or more buildings for Tomb Raider The Ride? Thanks.

Derek

It's a Huss Machinenfabrik Giant Top Spin.  I have stated this over and over again...it's tall, it's big, it's nothing special to me.  No more speculation needs to be done as to what it is because it is a Giant Top Spin.  The measurments fit perfectly, and so do the footers!

Hey coaster131, If you guys don't want it, we'll take it over here at PGA. We're getting a new simlulator next to 7th Portal. Sometimes people don't appreciate what they have.

I knew it... that's what I speculated before! That's exactly what I speculated, that they are getting one of those Giant Huss rides, the Top Spin heavily themed to the Tomb Raider movie, which will be indoors.

There was a thread before this one about a month ago where nobody thought it was going to be a Huss Giant Top Spin... even Jeff had his doubts.

What's KcKc?

-----------------

KcKc is Kenton Cove's Keelboat Canal., PKI's flume ride they removed to build Tomb Raider.

I've got laser eyes, and I know what you're thinking. It comes to no surprise, the Christmas lights are blinking.
Is there a Huss Giant Top Spin? I know there will be track in this attraction and I don't think a top spin has any track. Also, I have no clue how much these giant top spins cost but i don't think it woul be anywhere near 40 million or over for that matter. So yea, it dimensions do seem like a giant top spin, but all the other facts that were stated at the press event seem to lean that it's NOT GOING TO BE A GIANT TOP SPIN IN A BOX!

Well, those bad-boys aren't cheap!

The Huss Giant rides are very new and not up in any parks as of 2001, but will be in 2002. They are probably averaging around 6 to 8 million for a new unthemed Huss Giant ride. You enclose that bad-boy, add some state-of-the-art special effects and theming, and you got a ride that can run up to 20+ million

Is it for sure being made by HUSS?

But TRTR will coast at least 40 million, and how can you make a thing this freakin' huge 3-D without having individual glasses for everyone?
who said it was gonna be in 3-D. you guys keep making up stories. they never said it was gonna be in 3-D. i still think its gonna be a long thrust air. start off by getting latched in and taking a slow cruise through scenery and settings and then all of a sudden you get shot up towards the stalactites and drop down towards the lava.

Top 5
1.) Beast 2.) Phantom's Revenge 3.) SROS (SFDL) 4.) MF 5.) Alpengeist

DWeaver...I don't live by PKI...I live in Central NJ...15 minutes from SFGAdv.  Just thought I'd point that out.

Also, coasterider548, where in the heck did you hear that there would be track?  Huh?  NOWHERE!  That's what I thought.  Did you even see the photo's of the footers?  They were the perfect footers for a Giant Top Spin.

No, I'm not making this up. As I've stated before, all you people have to do is go up and read one of the two signs by the display, I'm not exactly sure the exact words but it goes along the lines, "Brought to life by an amazing adventure, guests will experience an unique 3-D experience." It's right under your nose, it's just that you aren't looking hard enough.
If I remember correctly, I think it was Jeff that stated that there will be SOME track in there somewhere. But the park didnt say what type of track it is or what it will be used for.

Maybe a lot of the ride will be walk-through hype. First, you will have a generally high-themed queue line, then...

It will be like taking a part in the movie travelling through various scenes from the movie probably with a "tour guide". Then towards the end, there will be a big finalie where the only way to escape is to board the giant Huss Topspin and ride it.

Proud to be an American!!

I think its going to be similar to Atlantis the Ride, or some type of "water coaster".
In the press release the ride is referred to as an escape vehicle. To everyone who thinks it's a top spin, please explain how you "escape" on a ride where you board the ride in the same place you start.
The top spin is a good quess? Altough PKI has stated that there will be a portion of the attraction that you enter an escape vehicle....this does NOT sound like a top spin .Who's to say that this ride is not the combination of several rides , after all they are talking about the ride incompasing many differant elements ? It could be a highly themed queue line that then takes you to an escape vehicle that takes you around movie props with fire and lights and effects, than the big ending is a TR themed top spin this would include all the clues we have now about this ride.......................could be could be????
At Navy Pier here in Chicago, a simulator has a brief interlude where an employee runs in hurries riders to "escape", and guess what it is.....another simulator!

I've also heard the word escape being used in other sims also.

Now this should end all discussions. If you remember, Thrillride.com had a rumour in it's Wild Rumors/Random Notes months before TR was announced. It basically detailed that PKI's new ride was a TOP SPIN that comes dangerously close to a LAVA PIT and STAGLAGNITES that drip water. Notice the capitol words. And believe me, those details were mentioned in the rumour. Now I know TR isn't the most credible source, but c'mon.

No one's sure about the rest of the ride, but you can pretty much bet one part is going to be a Huss Top Spin.
