Threadjacking Alert

I can't BELIEVE you "went there".....Not sure what's the best music to come out of Joisey, but I can say that it is NOT Bruce, or Bong Jovi....Queen Latifah also hails from "The Garden State", but I don't think that's it either...

Is there ANY good music to come out of Jersey? Or did I get out just in time, before my 10th birthday...

Well, just be happy that Vanilla Ice isn't from Joisey. ;)

That's for sure, but it depends upon the venue as well. In Detroit, the crowd was pretty sedate. In Myrtle Beach, whoa, momma!!!! ;)

That's funny, I was just thinking about picking up a Ministry CD to replace my old tape. Maybe even some Nitzer Ebb.

Yeah, so anyhow, I'm not really sure where this thread started, I'm just glad it included someone mentioning the best band ever: Nitzer Ebb.

I love the others, but no one compares to the simplistic assault that is Nitzer. I think I'll go Get Closer to Letting my Body Learn now.

Best band ever? I dunno about that. Never been much of a fan, and after seeing them open for somebody a couple of years ago (was it the NIN/Bowie tour?), I was still not impressed.

Please stop using my name and the word "crack" in close proximity. Thanks. ;)

Also, you're dam* right "Wanted Dead or Alive" is the best rock song ever...

Singing "I've seen a million faces, and I've rocked them all" while pumping your fist in the air with 20,000 of your closest friends...unforgettable.

And Jon Bon Jovi...the only rock star to actually get hotter with age, 'cept Robbio of course, and I've seen the pictures that prove that. ;)

Somebody just got back in town...

Anywho, Jeff, You're probably thinking of the 1989 Depeche Mode Violator tour when Nitzer Ebb opened for them... big pavilions really weren't their thing, so I see how you wouldn't be impressed. Same goes for when Front 242 was on Lollapalooza.

I think after that they were always headliners, unless it was something like the Reading Festival. In the club was where they were best. (and I have bootleg videos to prove it.)

Y'know what sucks about the NIN/Bowie tour? I had to be in Philly the day they were in Pittsburgh, and when I got back to Pittsburgh, they were playing in Philly. (They really should've checked with me.)

I met Trent Reznor in an indie record store in Pittsburgh once, right around when Pretty Hate Machine was released. Does that make us friends? It should at least make me cool, right??

I agree, though, carjacking sucks.

Holy crap, yeah, it was the DM show way back then. I didn't realize it was really that long ago.

The Bowie/NIN show was cool (except for the moron parents passing their doob to their 14-year old next to them). The old folks were a little pissed Bowie wasn't doing all of his classics. Prick was a not-bad opener too.
