The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

A question I have is this: On the 13th, will we not only know whats going into section, but will there be in-depth drawings, and stuff available on the website for the new area and the rollercoaster if there is one?

I would like to see a proposed map of the new area, and pehaps a drawing of what the coaster is gonna be (assuming there is one ;-0)...

I dont think I'll be able to make it to the park on 13th, but I sure will try.

PS) What will the advantage of being there for the announcement be? Will people who go to the announcments get more drawings, get shown models, ect? Or is it purly just a "come if you like, but you wont miss much that you cant get if you didnt go" thing?

I love Holiday world!!!!!!!!

(((This entire post problems sounds like the ramblings of a mad-man, and I'm sorry, but I worded it the best way I could....)))

He's probably talking about going AROUND Cincinnati: I-75 north to I-275 west around to I-74 west to Indy. That actually works really well, even during rush hour.

Correct. Maybe Cincinnati does have bad traffic, but I always manage to avoid it. I have gone both ways and going through Cincinnati actually is a few miles longer, but the traffic is not as bad. Plus I-275 manages to go through about nine states (or 3) in a couple of minutes if you are into that.

Using I-275 explains why you don't see much traffic. It's busy during rush hour, but not usually slow. I've always lived within the loop, so I don't usually see I-275 at rush hour. I'm stuck with 75 and 74. ;)

I've been wondering the same thing as Landon - Will we see drawings and such upon announcement?

I asked the same question about five pages ago, but everyone was still too obsessed with chiggers. :)

Also notice what state is pulled over the most in MO, no not MO plates, well OK not even IL (there' #2) It is actually IOWA (who's max speed is 65).

Actually Swoosh, we just went up to 70 mph July 1. Well most of Iowa is 70, there are a few spots still 65.

I'm *definitely* voting against Thanksgiving!

Taking that as a major hint... It's not Thanksgiving so the new Holiday will be...... Valentines Day!

Watch the tram car please....

After going to the park on Monday, and unfortunatly not seeing Paula, I still took a pretty good look around the Fourth of July Section...

I think it is the Tilt-A-Whirl thats going to get the Axe. The ride is aging and it's the one flat ride that could still use some major cosmetic work.

The Eagles look like they have had some money put into them... but who knows...

Alright...I read the Holiblog this morning for Paula's piece of 'fine work' and I have to say....I don't get it. The only reference I have inferred was 'magic' and that to me is a reference to the Magic Kingdom.

Is this so well written that it has completely escaped me? What am I missing?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Wow, I go away for the holiday weekend, and come back to footer photos, and a RCDB claim of a HW coaster. That site does not jump the gun, but jumping this announcement does not take much faith at all. All the signs are there. If you still are unsure that a new coaster is going to HW next year, you just have to wait for the announcement.

I agree with whoever said that the word "hybrid" in the holiblog is a major clue, but I disagree with Paula's vote against Thanksgiving as a clue as I still think the holiday will be Thanksgiving. I think that was more of a vote against Paul's ideas of what could be done with that holiday.

I am predicting that their webserver will be hit hard by coaster geeks trying to see all the pictures and videos. I know I will be doing my part... ;)

I thought THESE were interesting clues (since we already "know" ;) it's a hybrid steel-supported wooden coaster):

Quoth the Holiblog:
These fellows hail from New Mexico. They're used to the heat, but not the humidity, of southern Indiana.

Guess they've heard it's cooler underground.

New Mexico? Home to the NM Rattler? Maybe hired on from the post-CCI construction? Just a thought...

Underground? :):):):):):):):)

bill, will only ride the Rapids if I can get one of Will's infamous BLUE boats! ;)

I don't know about the New Mexico stuff but I heard rumors about an underground tunnel and that does seem like a pretty good clue. Let's see what clue Paula has for us later today. *** Edited 7/7/2005 4:46:44 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

Gator, I was wondering when someone would say something about that. woo-hoo!

Paula! We're getting antsy for our clue in here! Don't make us pull out desperate words like 'pretty', 'please', or 'chocolates'. :)

She often posts towards the end of business hours. For some reason I feel bad that I know that.

Ummmm...that was a blog posting, not a hint.

There is a huge hint that everyone has missed so far ... I don't expect anyone to catch it, actually...but I will post about it on the HoliBlog within a day or two following the announcement.

I've been up on the consturction site with Will this morning, shooting B-roll. We were up in the woods, to the side of the Snowy White Gravel Road (even Will calls it that now.:))

Me: Um, Will ... are there chiggers up here?

Will: Well, I can't promise you there aren't.

Me: You know, I let the first attack slide. But this time, I think it's Worker's Comp.

---------

Okay, I'm back in my office now. After I check emails, I'll post our final HoliHint.

Thanks for your interest, Paula
