The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

Well, it wouldn't actually have to be a holiday theme either- according to their park map, they consider Holidog's Fun Town a themed area, but it's obviously not a holiday.

Holidog's FunTown is part of the 4th of July section. Will didn't feel it was large enough to warrant its own holiday, so it's an extension of the 4th. (If you look carefully on the Declaration of Independence, you just might find a faded paw print. :))

On the park map, they listed the height restrictions separately to make it easier to read.

Thanks, Paula

How could you have Valentines without these rides: Head over Heels - Enterprise (Tears for Fears playing in the background), Love Bug - Caterpillar, Heartbreaker - Chaos (Pat Benatar anyone?), and of course a Sally Tunnel of Love darkride.

For Easter, it's obvious what the coaster name should be: Holy Roller!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Moosh,

Of course...you could re-read my term and apply the pun 'undateable' to refer to those people that don't have a holiday (or date in the calendar) to call their own.

As opposed to those people who have appeared to have been with Cupid's hammer...figuratively of course....

;) :)

I'm suspicious since Paula ignored my TLC comment. Maybe I broke her heart with my Valentine?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Also with Easter, you can have a Giant Ferris Wheel with Easter Baskets as the gondola.

Hey thanks for the congrats! This ought to give Cindy and I a great excuse to spend all day at Holidog's Funtown! That place is so cool, especially playing in the jumping fountains.

We're still waiting Paula :-D

Hey, Moosh, Cinco de Mayo is not an American holiday, and if you really want to get picky, neither is St. Patrick's Day.

I believe it will be Valentine's Day themed...kinda spread the holidays out a bit...and who can kick about LOVE?

Paula

I got it!!! I got it!!!! It's another clue from Paula - the lyrics from the TLC song "I ain't Too Proud To Beg".

Bzzzzzzzzt! Paula was continuing with the Rolling Stones line...not sure if the TLC version was a remake or whatever....since I haven't listenend to any *new music* since '75. ;)

edit: And congrats to Rob and Cindy! :)

Not to mention "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" was a hit by the Temptations, not the Stones. TLC's version simply borrowed that one line of lyrics for a completely different song.

And yes, I know Cinco de Mayo isn't a US holiday...neither is Christmas ;)

I was pretty sure it wasn't the TITLE of a Stones song, but certainly, *it's in there*....in the lyrics....you tell me which song... ;)

"It's in there" was a tagline for a spaghetti sauce called *Prego*....

Which brings us back to.....nevermind... ;)

If Holidog's Fun Town wasn't big enough to be it's own holiday, whatever they are planning for 2006 must be BIG! Fun Town is a fairly large area, and even though they are all for the kiddie's, there are quite a few rides and attractions. Leads me to believe that the new area will quite a bit more than a new ride, a game, some food a shop or two.

I am still holding out for Thanksgiving with the free-unlimited Wild Turkey Oasis. *** Edited 6/22/2005 3:37:16 PM UTC by Kraven the Raven***

Nah ... I went to a Stone's website looking for a pun. It's definitely one of their songs.

Paula (not a fan, though)

Paula actually goes out and *researches* potential puns? I'm impressed! Really getting into the music, not just rock music, but the Stones. This is heavy stuff, you know. There you have it, folks, Paula is working hard!

Today's Holiblog makes me wonder if Holiday World found an old Schwarzkopf Speedracer. After all, you know what the ones Marriott bought were called...! Or perhaps she was hinting about the waterpark expansion that is also coming next year...

We will know for certain that it is a Thanksgiving section if they bring all the ride pieces in using a moving van. :)

I edited my post to clarify that the Temps have the more popular hit version.

So Paula...how about a Strawberry Fields themed area? ;)

Actually, I consider it a great shame. :)

A true punster doesn't need Google.

Sigh!

The only Stones' song I really like is "Lady Jane"...and that's because I was a Henry VIII freak. I can still list all the wives, and how they met their fate.

See...you guys aren't the only freaks out there! :)

Paint It Black. ;-) My favorite anyway.

Or in HW's case.....paint it red, pink, and white. :-P

Divorced, beheaded, died
Divorced, beheaded, survived...can't remember their names, however.

Anyway, regarding the expansion, "Time Is on our Side"--we'll know sooner or later. *** Edited 6/22/2005 4:58:12 PM UTC by MooreOn***
