The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

Could this be another not so subtle hint of what at least some of next years additions might be? Hmmm. I think we have a winner. Though I right now doubt it has to do with the removal of select trees. Just yet one more thing to think about. And if you think about it some more...wouldnt you expand your waterpark to if it was doing as well as it is for Holiday World? And wouldn't you expand your waterpark if you know that you would be expanding the rest of Holiday World in general? And wouldn't you expand your waterpark if you were secretly planning a big new secret signature attraction? Now I am no way saying this is what Holiday World is up to....but it sure does add fuel to the fire.
And that fire is greatly appreciated...it's freezing this morning in Santa Claus! :)

Paula isn't it usually "freezing" in the North Pole? Santa Claus should feel right at home if that were the case. ;)

Seems fitting to me.....

Maybe 'Christmas' will actually be snow themed for now on....

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
After reading Paula's last report, does anyone have the price of Roller Soaker at Hershey? RCDB does NOT have it listed. C-Punk....any Hershey fans out there??

Being a math teacher, I'm putting 2 and 2 together.....which I am finding to be currently = 8.

There's nothing like a woodie...
Now THERE'S an idea! Even better, it could be installed as a Splashin' Safari attraction, which would take care of the squishy shoes problem as people would (in theory at least) already be prepared to get wet.

It's a coaster
It's a water ride
It fits in with the continued waterpark expansion (thanks, Paula, for pointing out how closely I read press releases...)
It actually fits all the clues so far, doesn't it?!

Oh, and in accordance with the prophecy...er, I mean, in accordance with the Very First Clue, it was suggested by Woody. Coincidence? I think not!

The super saturator at PCar was $4M.

Thanks Brian, I forgot they installed one at PCar.

Well, that fits. $6.3M for the first expansion and if you add $4M for a Super Soaker coaster, that's $10.3M in two years. Wouldn't that get it close?

Now, though I utilized the clues and really used the Water Park, Moosh's offering drives me INSANE! I would love another Woodie, but I think it's time to diversify at HW....and that's why I'm sticking with this 'original' thought.

Moosh: I bet you a "FREE" 2006 Calendar on it!?!? (That's if they build a "roller soaker" style ride). If you win, and they build a Gravity Group coaster, I'll buy 3 Calendars next year and give them to friends. DEAL? LOL!

There's nothing like a woodie...
Here's the reason that I'd say no to the Super Saturator rumor.....600 riders per hour. Holiday World is all about capacity with their new rides and that is pretty poor capacity.

Have Fun

I really like those Flying Supa Saturatas, they really DO serve the dual-purpose genre-splitting perfectly...by the cost of PCar's ($4M), I'd bet the HP one probably ran an extra 750K-1M for the additional infrastructure...

edit: Dual-station load/unload FSS could prob get to 1K/hour easily, I didn't see HP or PCar doing close to even half that....of course, the return trip to Hershey they didn't even need to do 5 people/hour, LOL...RollerSOAKer...:)

A new woodie, now, would run the same 4-5M minimum, since nobody *gives away* wooden coasters anymore...that's one Holiday tradition that went away with CCI...;)

Either way, a large investment to be sure, but I think we can all agree that HW has made the leap, VERY successfully, to a mid-sized park. Congratulations guys, you've done it the RIGHT way....:)

Genre-splitting, incidentally is the reason I heap praise on the Sally interactives...shoot-em-up meets dark ride is pretty cool. The old-fashioned dark ride is rapidly becoming an endangered speicies, but what they've evolved into is a ride that the entire family can enjoy together, from toddlers to grandma and grandpa...and doesn't THAT sound like something that would fit well into HW's demographic? ;)

edit: Do I sound like someone that needs a trip to Santa Claus? Thought so...;)

Dave, Dave, Dave...do you really think I'd hand it over that easily? Tsk, tsk, tsk. :)

I was merely concerned that some CBers were working their brains too hard trying to figure this out. It was simply my intent to point out that they needed to relax a bit.

You know...maybe go outside and get some air.

They should, but they'll probably over-analyze that suggestion and think "get some air" means an S&S ride. :)
Yeah...bitOmike....like a launched S&S water-coaster.....

Sorry...couldn't resist....

Regardless...I'm happy HW is doing something big. Long live HW!!!!!

Sigh, I'm done. Paula's just playing with our weary, over-synapsed craniums. ARRRRGGGH!

All in all, I love it. ;)

If I had to make a guess -- and this is purely a guess, no inside info here -- I'd say that in the 2006 season you'll find enthusiasts gravitating to Holiday World...perhaps even in groups.

Even more air than is already possible at HW? ;)

Air? AIR? A B&M Flyer? Hmmmm...

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Paula, is it fun to know what's going on and come on here and torment us with stuff like that? I figured the blog would cause a fuss like this...

Right. Go out, fund a nice coffee shop, drink some Earl Grey, and browse CBuzz from your PDA over the shop's wireless internet. Oh, wait a minute...

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

I think we were getting too close so RM tried to throw us off. I still say it is a woodie or interactive dark ride.
