The Patriot: The Website

Are you sure that the lift doesn't head NE? From the Skyliner you can see a large collection of footers NE of the proposed station, right where the trees start.
I'm going from the concept art and after talking to Joe, it most definitely goes Northwest. Northeast would have it running into Skyliner.
Northwest would have it going towards the WoF sign on WoF Ave.

Once it turns left out of the station it heads just East of North IMO and I'm basing this off of the footer placements. It really looks to me like it angles towards A lot once it's starts heading upward.

It would only hit Skyliner if it heads SE.

I do however love the white stripe. ;) *** Edited 9/9/2005 1:05:50 PM UTC by jive2***

If this is the lift hill then it is facing northwest as due north is where the cellular tower is -- at least I'm pretty sure it is. The lift hill line is pointing to about halfway between the balloon and the parking gate.

Also this is the lowest point on the immelmann and of the ride. Someone was asking about that earlier in the thread.

This first pic in your post is the brake run and it runs parrallel to the new service road.

If you look at the first pic from this link (hope it works ;) you'll see that the lift will stop near the exsisting service road and the drop will curve around the collection of footer boxes. The pic in question was taken from lot A (NE of the proposed station).

Are you going to be there on Saturday?

Two inverts. Don't forget Black Mamba.

I'm confused- I thought I read that B&M had four projects in 2006 but I'm counting five. Is the hyper at La Ronde a done deal?

Rob, when I first saw the Canadian posting about the LaRonde Beema, I went to rcdb. I know Duane's not "all-knowing", but he's PRETTY close...no news there.

If LaRonde gets that coaster, then B&M is spreading the company REALLY thin this off-season, which isn't typically their M.O. Not saying it ISN'T happening, just that I'd be kinda surprised. I'd imagine the park would at least want to boost off-season pass renewals by "announcing" before their season ends...

Patriot? I agree with those saying that coasters WITHOUT "The White Stripe(s)" just aren't as good! ;)

I wouldn't say they're spreading themselves thin...99 they had nine coasters open up (granted three of them were IOA which were allready designed).

With LaRonde hyper, that would be six total worldwide (LaRonde, SFoG, SFMM, Phantaisialand, WoF, OCT bejing). Still an acceptable level. :)

OMG I have a new sig!!!
La Ronde doesn't even sell annual passes or even renewals the year before! If you want a 2006 pass? Buy it on opening day and stand in a 2 hours line to get it processed. That's a left over from the old city of Montreal regime and since Six Flags got their hands "Full" with the employees and maintenance on rides, they didn't change that stupid process yet.

Rumblings from employees are getting quite strong regarding the hyper coaster, but those rumblings have been totally wrong before. Larondecapote (the guy that tried to pass employee rumbling as "confirmed") listened to them, forgetting that the employee in question guaranteed La Ronde would be getting a flat in 2005, a Huss Troika, between Vampire and the Space Shot. What's at that spot now? Still the helicopter tours, oops!

I'll be hitting the park next week for the event and be seeing if there's any changes, be it construction markers or just tearing something down (and they will have to to fit a hyper!).

Yeah I'm not 100% believing they are getting a hyper next year, partially because there doesn't seem to be ANY construction going on, just markings. A quick look at the calendar reveals that it's almost mid SEPTEMBER... kind of a late start if they're getting anything near Nitro size...

Joe "believe it when I see it, but DAMN to I want to see it" :) C.

Jive - No I can't be there. Mizzou has a home football game and since I am a graduate assistant with Marching Mizzou, I have to be there. Call time is 2pm so that doesn't leave much time to get to KC and back so not this weekend. Not sure when I will get back to the park. We'll be at Valleyfair and Camp Snoopy in two weeks (23-24). We're going to the Cirque du Soleil show that will be there (Corteo).
