The Patriot: The Website

This looks great, But I really thought B&M, and WOF, for that matter, would have wanted a more custom design... Different, like Silver Bullet.

Eh, whatever. It still looks like tons of fun.

EDIT: That pop over the station looks delicious just from the picture, now that I've studied it.
;) :)

Westcoaster Man:

The difference is that the people who were complaining about SFOG's Goliath were douche bags. And in the vast, vast minority. Maybe instread of making vast generalizations about people on coasterbuzz, you should lurk a little, get to recognize the probably 20 or so posters who are quality all the time and post on a regular basis, and then see what they have to say in whatever given thread.

This isn't derisive of Newbs, or Lurkers, or anything, but there are plenty of people here who are more than happy to post every now and then just to see thier posts on a message board, and then there are plenty of people here who are up for some real discussion. Try to differentiate, mkay? Or else you're just gonna turn into the next BATWINGSFA and really, one is enough.

CF and B&M have teamed up again to make a ride that actually looks intense. I like the theme and layout. Should be a great addition.
I hope this one is allowed to ROAR even if the sequence of elements is similar to Talon.

It looks the zero-G flips to the right though - that's the best part of Talon that it doesn't turn over the way others have.

Yay!!

I actually had fun at Worlds of Fun the last time I was there (August 2002) and I'm glad they are replacing the dearly departed Orient Express with something a little nicer.

I'm still waiting for BatwingFan's remarks on this... ;)

Looks very nice! I'm digging the logo as well. Hmmm, looks like I might just have to make it back to the park next year.

I really like the Screaming Eagle ("not related to SFStL's Eagle, It's more like Missouri Pacific's Eagle logo") Style logo. The ride is nice even though similar to Talon, I am sure the GP will love it as Talon is like 1500 miles away and most of the GP here may have not heard about Talon. I would love it too as I have not ridden Talon or been to Dorney Park.

I would also like to point out even though its been said many times before that Mamba is very similar to Steel Force with the exception of the helix and the 2nd drop. So in retrospective we now have 2 near clones (Mamba and Patriot) and 3 clones (Wacky Worm, Spinning Dragons, and Boomerang). The only ride very unique when it was built is the Timber Wolf, a few years later CCI took the Timber Wolf design to France and built as modified and mirrored version of it called Tonnerre de Zeus.

BTW I wonder who did the Ride Animation on those ride videos, they look awesome.

Swoosh said:Chris, Keith did the animation (like normal).I don't see why you wouldn't like this ride. They took out the boring "lag" that Talon has after the inclined loop and instead added a floater hill and an intense ending. I think that this ride will probably be a lot more intense in the end than Talon is -- and Talon is a REALLY GOOD RIDE. If you are feeling disappointed by the layout, look at the stats and realize that it is only ONE FOOT away from being the 3rd tallest inverted coaster. That's nothing to look down upon. The GP are going to eat this thing up and I gurantee that Missouri and the surrounding area are going to be thinking "Bat-who?" after riding this thing. Saturdays are going to be packed this coming summer as will WOF Village.Hooray! Hurrah! Mizzou! Mizzou!

Yea, I do like the layout and I told you in the post above, that I'll love the ride. I also noted the states and seen the new pictures at http://www.rcdb.com/ig3244.htm . Some of those pictures makes the ride look awesome.

Edited to include the quote from the last page.

Wow, looks like Keith has been busy this year. Thats good for him and us. I'm glad the industry is finally realizing they have a good thing in 3DVIP.
Sorry, but I agree with westcoasterman. People here think Cedar Fair clones a ride and it's brilliant. Six Flags clones and here comes the moans. And, it's not just the occassional posters here.

IMO I find it funny how CF can make an almost complete clone of Talon and that's just fine and dandy. Yet if this was SF this ride would of been ripped to pieces by now. SFOG hyper has a great layout but since it was named Goliath and sported the same color scheme as SFMM Goliath, people are still bit*hing and complaining about it and that was what seven days ago. People are still bashing SF for cloning SFMM Goliath name and color scheme for SFOG. Yet CF can make an almost exact clone and everything is peaches and cream lol.

Ok guys, time to put up or shut up.

I scanned the two recent threads here talking about Goliath at SFOG. Both the News Item and the Topic In The Forums

I don't see any single screen name bashing SF and then coming here and praising CF for the same thing.

Perhaps I missed something, I only looked quickly? Perhaps these comments are in other threads?

Could you guys even point me to one or two people (let alone enough to make it a widespread trend)?

Otherwise, get over it.

Oh, and for the record, I've never, ever complained about a park getting a clone. In fact, I wish every park had Phantom's Revenge, and a couple others. I agree, the same annoying people post this stuff, and it gets turned into all of CBuzz following. I'm sorry, I've already let JRS know that I don't drink the Kool Aid Jeff gives (;)), and I surely don't be all up in anyone else's Kool Aid either.

Show me names of people complaining in one thread and praising in another, and I may believe, given that they aren't the same few whiney posters no one cares for anywho.

I know the park, and the ride looks great...I hope it incoroporates some of the topography of the ravine.

I agree with everything that Moosh says...except that signature should read...Go Big Red...Go Big Red...

;)

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Fanboys are the only ones who can decipher the secret code other fanboys are typing. They see the *real* discussion. While we are reading, "Cool ride, kind of similar to talon." they read, "Awesome, Cedar Fair is getting another clone ride, how cool is that!"

This ride is looking great, as is SFOG's hyper. It would take something more unique to get me to go out of my way to ride it however.

Clone? What clone? Where clone? I don't get it.

The inversion order is the same, sure! And I suppose it gets close to the station after the immelman, too. But that's about it. It's a completely different beast.

It should finally get WoF back over the million-visitor hump and I'm quite sure it will be Da Midget's first invert. Okay, full-circuit invert. First B&M. There we go.

So Shady Man--when did you first start seeing cones and flags? Last September? Or later than that?

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Actually, Gonch, neither one of us said that we saw a SINGLE screen name bashing and then praisng.

Can you even point out one person?

Yes. And I already searched and found a few. I'm too lazy to point them out to you, so research on your own.

Ha ha, I am not going to prove your point for you. Thats not how it works. You make a statement, you back it up with facts.
