Great job on the new site Jeff. However this now makes PointBuzz feel old. Is it going to get the same treatment, or at least the +1's?

What is the fascination with the +1? People love it but why?

I +1'd this post ironically. And what's even more ironic is how I misused the word ironic there. Or is it?

Possible (extremely minor) bug?

In this thread, as of right now it says the last person to post to the thread was me, in the 10:00 hour yesterday morning.

That's technically true. I wrote up a post, then realized that the follow-up link I was posting was already included in the thread header ("RTFA, Dave!"). So rather than embarrass myself that way, I deleted the post.

I know you can still see it, Jeff, so it looks right to you. But to the rest of us, the "last post" is by someone who hasn't even contributed to the thread!

It's not anonymous. If you click on the score, it shows who voted it up.

And just as a follow-up, you can also go to someone's profile and click the "Scoring Game" tab and see where the points are coming from.

Is there any type of exchange/market where said points can be traded/purchased/sold? Any type of a black market for them?

Ok, so let me star off by apologizing to the non-club members who won't be able to click the link. But, since this is the "glitch" thread, I decided to post it here. Though, I imagine Jeff may already have seen it.

After typing my message out, I selected the words "facebook page" and used the link button to input the hyperlink. It looked correct in the text field. But, after posting it, all the text after it became part of the link.

Well, at least it properly closed the tag instead of making the rest of the page a link. :)

The text editor is actually an open source piece called TinyMCE. While I can reasonably handle the stuff that it puts out, it will decide on its own from time to time on how it will format stuff. That's why we had the weirdness on pasted in quotes from other pages, because it included information it didn't understand. It works most of the time, fortunately, but if something doesn't work, it's important to let me know what browser you're using.

The add to track record icon is reversed. When I navigate to a roller coaster page the "Track Record" button is reversed. If I have the coaster in my track record it shows a +, if I don't it shows a -.

That was a design choice, not a bug. :) I'm still pretty torn about it.

I understand the dilemma as I noticed that as well. How about a checked box vs an unchecked box?

I fixed the "new posts" issue in the Day In Pictures forum, which is to say it works like it did on the old site. You still need to mark the entire forum read, but at least you can now see where there are new posts, as the thumbnails will be highlighted. I realize it would probably be better if viewing an individual image automatically made it "read," but for now I hope this is good enough. (You may have to shift-refresh the pages to see the correct highlighting style.)

Thanks for fixing that. It was slightly irritating me. lol

It irritated me too. It just kind of slipped down the list since that forum won't get a ton of play until people start going more to parks.

Jeff-

I've been on coasterbuzz for over ten years: This update is fantastic; it's very exciting to see a favorite site of my 'childhood' looking as elegant as it does now. Thanks!!

Not sure if this is a glitch or what, but I am experiencing an old topic about the translation of Kingda Ka coming up within the first few forum topics on the front page. As far as I see, there were no posts in this thread since 2005 unless I'm just blatantly missing something.

Yeah, I had to delete some spam there, but there's a bug where it doesn't recalc the last post time. It's on my list.

So, today I am using android 2.3.4 on my Droid by Bionic using the default browser. I had to use plain text box in order to type a post.

Still loving the new look site!

Just been starting to add the new European coasters to the database but I've found a bug in the process (Sorry Jeff!).

When searching for Parc Astérix, it appears in the search - but gives me a 404 when I hit the result.

When I try and go in via a coaster at the park in the database, I get a different error.

I assume it's the non-standard character in the park name?

Rick.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Having to use plain text on a mobile device is not a bug.

I'll have to look into the accented character issue.
