The Gravity Group & Holiday World

When Paula posted the info. on the new Gravity Group company, she sounded very excited. Could this mean that we may be looking foward to a new wooden coaster at Holiday World sometime soon?

Whether or not there are any plans for Holiday World, I think Paula "sounded very excited" for the same reason the rest of us do... I mean, news doesn't get much better than this.

Alright, we can hope for a Gravity Group woodie next year at HW. At least I hope so.

I would love to see another woodie come to Holiday world, but it sounds like they are looking for a water related attraction for the water park. I think they have a great water park without adding another water attraction, but hey the more the merrier!

“If you give a enthusiast a footer.......He’ll want a coaster!!!"

Holiday World is great for woodies. I too can see another one coming. They like to keep things traditional.

"enough is enough"-?

I bet they get another woodie next year! With GG opening up new and they designers relationships already with HW I bet there will be one. Plus we keep hearing about all this incredibly high attendance at HW and they're cashin in.

Gas to get to PKI, $5.60. ACE card for walkback, $50.00. Meeting up with Beastnum1 and drinking 20 lemonjuice packets, priceless

I doubt the crummy park will get another woodie they already have two that are similar and a third would probably be more of the same. Stupid Holiday World.

Track Record: 142 and counting.....

A 23% increase from last years' record breaking attendance........hmmmmmm.....Holiday World sounds real 'crummy' and 'stupid' to me.

Wow! The more I read on these forums, the more I want to continue my career as an educator.

There's nothing like a woodie...

Why the bashing, PatMan?

Arrow Engineer: "Well, we just tested the prototype Suspended with an inversion and the car broke off the stick thing. We plan to reuse the stick things on a future prototype called a 4th dimension."

I guess you can't please everyone. He's entitled to his opinion.

But for those of us that love Holiday World this is good news.

I would think a smaller park (Cliff's, Morey's Piers, etc.) would tryout TGG first, but HW may have a good relationship with these engineers. I think a GCI terrain would be cool at HW IMO.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has 5 woodies and the park gets great reviews and what i've heard the park aren't called stupid, more like geniuses. Adding a 3rd woodie isn't as bad as you are trying to make it to be PatMan007.
I think it's better too ignore ignorance. Otherwise, you give in and give them exactly what they want.

"Escuse me, can you tell me where the heck the Mystery Lodge is"?

If you ask me, the more woodies, the merrier.

Just 15 miles from 2 CCI's.
Approx. 200 coasters ridden -- #1 Shivering Timbers

Blackpool does indeed have five woodies and each is excellent, even though one is a very small kiddie woodie which does not get high off the ground.

I actually rode my first two CCI's about three weeks ago, the first was the number one ranked Tonnerre de Zeus at Parc Asterix (France) and the other was Megafobia at Oakwood (Wales). I was very impressed and can see why a park like Holiday World would consider getting three of them providing they each had a different concep behind them, one out and back, one twister, one dueller? I don't know Holiday World that well though so they may well have two twisters.

As for the Gravity Group, I hope they become a success as all the modern woodies I have ridden are great (Gwazi being the other one), however in some cases they cannot match the oldies such as Grand National! Hopefully they will build something in Europe but probably not for some time. GCI look like they could be the next to make the jump to Europe with a possble woodie at Europa Park (Germany).

All this talk about the 23% increase in attendence is nothing, they still have no guests when compared to most other parks.

Track Record: 142 and counting.....
Holiday World Blows

But that's the point PatMan007...they are a small park in the process of growing. Not all parks start giant like Islands of Adventure. You can't grow unless your attendance continually increases. That 23% increase means a major increase in cash as well. That cash in turn buys the coasters we all love.

They are not in direct compition with other parks anyway. Their focus is to create a great park filled with happy guests and employees. I feel they are doing an excellent job at that. Look at all the changes they have made and the way they treat their guests. And this is outside the addition of coasters.

wof fan

A few weeks back, PatMan007 spent alot on energy flaming Holiday World. Eventually, he admitted that he has never visited HW. Just ignore the posts. I beleive a common statement is "Don't Feed the Trolls".

Common sense would dictate that HW would not get another woodie. A coaster is not impossible, but don't get your hopes up.

Why is he a troll? Just because he doesn't conform to the general opinion that Holiday World is good? I have nothing against the park, in fact I look foward to my first visit, but he is entitled to his opinion.

Anyone can have an opinion. But a signature that says Holiday World Blows, makes his opinion moot.

If he'd been there, and said he didn't get the Raven hype, that's one thing. The reality is, the easiest way to stir things up here is to slam HW or CP.

Bad attention is better than no attention at all.
