Now only if Van Halen (with DLR) could do the samehehe, VH will be here tonight actually with Sammy
DLR has nothing on Sammy as a performer. One Sammy Hagar show convinced me to go visit his club in Cabo San Lucas. It was only four days, but it was my favorite vacation. Mas Tequila!

Seeds of Love
Mad World (super mellow version -- mellower than usual)
Pale Shelter (amazing :)
Break It Down Again
Head Over Heels
Everybody Wants to Rule the World (last song)
Shout (encore)
My husband met Curt after the show and had some of his vinyl signed (I know I am dating myself here), but Roland was super grumpy and ran off, not wanting to deal with the fans.
I had a really great time at the show, but chances are that this opportunity will not come around again, as opposed to going to a park that will re-open in a few (but long) months.
Holy crap!
Someone else likes Galactic Cowboys?
Sean, I loved GC, I met them after the show, they just happened to be in the same hotel as I was in and I rode the elevator with them after the show, cool guys, I loved their 1st 2 albums by far. Did you happen to catch the "hidden" tracks on Space In Your Face?

I appreciate both eras of Van Halen for different reasons. The DLR-era music had a very raw and aggressive sound while the the Hagar-era music was more complex (from a compositional standpoint) and, dare I say it?- mature? Ask me what I prefer and I'll tell you...
The Gary Cherone-era, of course! JUST KIDDING.
King Diamond... the only King Diamond I am really familiar with is the medley on Metalica's on Garage Inc. Is that guy still recording?

I saw 'em in May anyway, when I lived in a city where there was music beyond bluegrass. Which is OK, just not my thing. <sigh>

I'd bet a good amount of money that you won't ever see DLR singing for Van Halen again. At least for the sake of VH fans, I hope he never does. I'd never witnessed such horror until I saw DLR perform and attempt to do something that sounded like something slightly related to the act of singing. This was on the Sammy Hagar/DLR combo tour in 2002. DLR was so bad, we actually laughed at almost every song, and shook our heads. I think the man stood in the same place the whole show as well. Luckily his guitarist (Brian Young, from the VH tribute band The Atomic Punks) was awesome, so we had something entertaining to listen to. Sammy sounded better than ever. It was truely night and day.
The most accurate and current VH news you can probably read right now was posted today in fact, on www.melodicrock.com .

There are some amazing remixes of Montana and Soul Sloshing out there, too.
I went to see BMG when I didn't really want to. I liked them a whole lot more than I thought I would, but I left with a Venus Hum CD. I wish they'd tour on their own so I could see a longer set.
Honestly when they came out... two guys with synthesizers, and a sprite with a microphone... I was a bit wary, but they converted me quickly.
I can see me dancing on the radio. I can see you singing in the blades of grass. *** Edited 11/5/2004 10:36:48 PM UTC by kpjb***
