The Flying Turns makes all the right people wet - Gonch
They played for an hour and a half. About 8 new songs, Head Over Heels, Shout, Everybody wants..., Mad World, Seeds of Love, Shout, Break it down again and Pale Shelter
Unfortunatly, no woman in chains and no Goodnight song
Dirty Vegas opened with a great set.
Ah... it was great to see them!

Queen of the 1-hitters...
Laura Branigan(sp?)...
didn't she go into porn?
Wrong on both counts. The recently deceased Ms. Branigan had hits with "Gloria," "Self Control," "Shattered Glass," "Solitaire," and "The Lucky One" off the top of my head. (And I'm not even a big fan.)
She was pretty cute, though, I wouldn't have minded seeing Branigan Gone Wild... but she's no Siouxsie Sioux.
Glad you had a good time, John!

Hi
mOOSH
You know what I heard last night? Nena, Katrina and The Waves, and Peter Schilling!
"Major Tom"........AWESOME 80's tune. It's probably one of my faves of all time!

Tina - why did you have to go and mention Nena?? I now have visions of amazonian rain forests going through my head :o

Derailed? I don't think the topic ever had much of a track to begin with. ;)
"I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs! I want my baby back, baby back, baby back ribs!"
See...no more Major Tom! ;)
Who knew Danny Elfman had a job before *adult cartoonz* hit the air...:)

Sammy Hagar jumps aboard, all of a sudden it's Why Can't This Be Love, C'mon Baby Finish What You Started, Love Walks In. No comparison. Richard friggin' Marx writes less sappy songs than this guy. They went from real rock to light rock. Blech.
Hagar-era VH did have a lot of songs with "love" in the title (or the theme of love) but there were also some extremely heavy Hagar-era songs. Good Enough. Seventh Seal. Pretty much everything on For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. And don't forget the song from Twister!
I agree that the songs from the Roth-era are generally heavier but one thing that always bugged me was the fact that each album had a few cover songs on it. While I'll admit that VH knew how to cover a song, it was a little irritating that each album had only 20 minutes or so of original VH music.
