Tears for Fears or PKI

Nice to see some love for newer bands Interpol and Muse. Venus Hum...hmmm I vaguely remember opening up for them in another band I was in once.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
I shall be at PKI tomorrow! Tan beast hat and green beast shirt!

TEARS FOR FEARS WERE GREAT TONIGHT!!!!!!

They played for an hour and a half. About 8 new songs, Head Over Heels, Shout, Everybody wants..., Mad World, Seeds of Love, Shout, Break it down again and Pale Shelter

Unfortunatly, no woman in chains and no Goodnight song

Dirty Vegas opened with a great set.

Ah... it was great to see them!

PKI tomorrow...l
You CAN have you cake and eat it too!!!!!

Queen of the 1-hitters...
Laura Branigan(sp?)...
didn't she go into porn?

Wrong on both counts. The recently deceased Ms. Branigan had hits with "Gloria," "Self Control," "Shattered Glass," "Solitaire," and "The Lucky One" off the top of my head. (And I'm not even a big fan.)

She was pretty cute, though, I wouldn't have minded seeing Branigan Gone Wild... but she's no Siouxsie Sioux.

Glad you had a good time, John!

Hi

So...no guesses on the three bands in my post above? Come on...they couldn't have been hits only in Los Angeles [could they?].

Never liked Matthew Wilder, Pilot, but I LOVED Scandal, and Til Tuesday. I still dig Aimee Mann sometimes.

You know what I heard last night? Nena, Katrina and The Waves, and Peter Schilling!

"Major Tom"........AWESOME 80's tune. It's probably one of my faves of all time!

-Tina

You sure those hits weren't just confined to the Moosh household, Moosh? ;)

Tina - why did you have to go and mention Nena?? I now have visions of amazonian rain forests going through my head :o

-Jim;)

til tuesday was great! I saw aimee mann like
9-10 yrs ago in Cleveland for the Whatever tour... She was awesome.
Scandal: Patty Smythe?

"Major Tom" was great, but "The Different Story" was by far Peter Schilling's best, IMO.

Hi

kpjb, right on! Right on! Now I have it stuck in my noodle!

Derailed? I don't think the topic ever had much of a track to begin with. ;)

Sammy Hagar jumps aboard, all of a sudden it's Why Can't This Be Love, C'mon Baby Finish What You Started, Love Walks In. No comparison. Richard friggin' Marx writes less sappy songs than this guy. They went from real rock to light rock. Blech.

Hagar-era VH did have a lot of songs with "love" in the title (or the theme of love) but there were also some extremely heavy Hagar-era songs. Good Enough. Seventh Seal. Pretty much everything on For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. And don't forget the song from Twister!

I agree that the songs from the Roth-era are generally heavier but one thing that always bugged me was the fact that each album had a few cover songs on it. While I'll admit that VH knew how to cover a song, it was a little irritating that each album had only 20 minutes or so of original VH music.

Everybody have fun tonight...
everybody Wang Chung tonight....

truly, words to live by. *** Edited 11/8/2004 9:01:28 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***
