Here is the concept that i was talking about. The deisgn is with 2 tophats on one tower, that would require a huge supporting tower. The first tophat would be around 300 FT and the 2nd would be around 150 with a much narrower tophat that would go a little slower over the top. If my calculations are correct, It would come out to be around 2400' FT. Perfect to our new coaster. OFcourse its just a speculation concept. This would be SO much better then a bootleg record breaker.

Additionally, think about MF. 300' drop into a big over bank cruises over a 180' hill. That second top hat would be brutal if it were 150'. The trains are shorter, so they'd carry less of the speed, but they're not that much shorter.

The footers are NOT lined up and they are only about 1 and a half parking spaces wide ( SF measurement terms). TTD's tophat is about 50' FT wide?, Not sure about that but its MUCH wider then that.

I still wouldn't count out a suspended catapult like Volcano:The Blast Coaster. V:TBC is only 2757ft in length, plus it would be great to have another one of these coasters out there. I only hope that they have worked any bugs out of the technology.
We are almost 99.9% sure its going to be a rocket, There is almost no doubt about that. *** Edited 8/5/2004 11:21:49 PM UTC by Big D***

While I agree with you, "we" is not a word I would use.
PhoneixPhan - I do wonder how an invert would make use of those pedastal footers, though.

A suspended would be tough with pedestal footers, and I highly doubt it will happen. I, for one, am 90% sure that it will be an Intamin Rocket, but I've been wrong before.

IMO, it's going to be a TTD clone, but I don't know.

Another thing, at gadv.com, the guy who runs the site...forgot his name...said 2,480ft may not be the lenght of this coaster and the lenght of another coaster being added to the park. Could there be a chance that GADV had a private board meeting for this coaster because it was just a BIT too obvious and the coaster is being built in the front of the park during the middle of the season. Why was it possible to build 5,349 foot long NITRO during the winter of 2001 but not this 2,480 foot coaster? whisper-"outsourcing!*"
Just a thought...
THIRD!
What would we all say if some weird twisted track came and it was a coaster we'd NEVER seen before. This could be the beginning of new coaster designs where all the other designs have been used and are in one park or another. It seems that the only coasters that are being built are B&M flyers/Inverts or Floorless coasters, Intamin hypers and Launch coasters, OR a wild mouse. What's the chance that this is a standing inverted mega launch coaster with rotating seats and free Wendy's?!? Not to kill my ethos or anything but really,...this coaster can be just about anything....that's not by B&M because that's just obvious. :-P

looks to me to be another infamous parking lot coaster.........

I hate to say this, but I think it's going to be a one-tricker wonder like TTD. Storm Runner's top hat is only 180 feet high and it has 3 other elements and it still needs 2600 feet of track. I think we're going to see a TTD clone. Personally, I'd love to see a hybrid of TTD and SR. Give me a 300+ top hat, twisting drop and a few inversions. I don't think that can be done with 2480 feet of track. :(
I love how everyone is so certain that these supports are bigger than TTD's just by who's standing by them or what kind of fence they are by...unless it's the same person or the same fence it's literally impossible to tell unless someone decided to measure TTD's and manages to get to SGADV to do the same. But hey, what fun would speculation be if everyone decided to use common sense, right? ;)
(Sorry I used though twice in the first sentance and it was bugging me, had to edit it out.) *** Edited 8/6/2004 2:03:55 AM UTC by T-Bird***

how many 200ft coasters do you see out there?

Pitty as this park sure has plenty of room for a long ride. But alas, with the state of Six Flag's probably not a lot of money for it.

Did you bother to read the captions on those pictures? What you're seeing there are supports and equipment for queue misters and canopies, nothing more.
