Stupid Enthusiasts On Coaster Specials

To bad i didnt get choosent to set next to one of the "fools" Cuase i would have cussed them out especially the guy who said X has a 89 degree drop, when its 89.9 degrees, lol. And then Andy Galardy, a great guy in person, said Goliath was 245, he must be talking about Titan.

Well Raptor Jo, nice to meet you! It's nice to think other people make Cedar Point an important part of their lives, too. I think I am interested in the Raptor tattoo....I wonder how expensive it is......
Yes, a lot of the people on Coaster Specials look like deranged lunatics ( Not shaggy of course). But some of it does make us look kind of Stereotypical

I think 200 people voted for it and they just did it over and over.

Since Discovery has gone to an one line popularity pole for picking their top ten coasters, we certainly can't expect the results to reflect the true quality of the coasters. I was just surprised and happy to see that Holiday World got represented without being a mega park. Maybe next year we can load the voting and get a Phoenix or Shivering Timbers in there as well.

Yes, people are pretty closely directed about what to do on these shows. My daughter and her friend were asked to let thier hair down for "coaster hair" on Batwing. When she saw herself on the show last night her comment was, "I look like Cousin It!"

We've already established that an online polling mechanism was used, Jim. We are only making the comment that the results are a bit....well, let's say, surprising.

I think that it's time for TDC to team up with Amusement Today when it comes to the rankings. The rankings by Amusement Today come out in August I believe, which would give TDC plenty of time to shoot the top 5 in each category. This would also be a much better representation of the top 10 coasters. Of course, this is simply my opinion, but it would have to be better than the rankings as they stand right now.

I thought the shows were, for the most part, well done. The Top 10 choices were not my pick, but to each their own. I am surprised that SROS SFNE didn't make it, as all I hear is that it is one of the best. I think PR should have been on Top 10 also, but it got on Extreme Rides, so it evens out. They actually showed my park for a change! On Ultimate Guide, they had clips of V2, American Eagle, Iron Wolf, and a little Raging Bull. They were very short clips though. I thought most of the people doing commentary were great. I wish Discovery would lay off a little, and let people be people, but I guess they know what viewers want. It got a little bit annoying though, when the people were riding a coaster and they would analyze every single part. A couple people didn't even seem excited, they were like "Ok, here comes the loop, then the turnaround, then the bunny hop..." It would be fine if they said it excitedly, but they were just kinda droning, and finally, I was like "Shutup and have fun!" I am surprised they got Deja Vu running, that is a pretty rare occurence. Almost like spotting the Loch Ness Monster. ;) Maybe it was just trick photography.

All three of the shows were extremely well done and I was happy to see several people I "know" during the show. My mom and dad were shocked when I was naming people off before the show even introduced them. At first, they thought it was funny, but after I rattled off about 6 or 7 names... and they saw Shaggy... they began getting scared. ;)

Nice to meet you too! :)

My Raptor tattoo was my 2nd CP tattoo I had done almost 3 years ago. Due to being a repeat customer my tattoo guy Anthony charged me $150.00 (plus I gave him a $20.00 tip) for my Raptor. Believe me it is at least a $200.00 tattoo. I had my last 2 (the MF logo and the other CP logo w/Snoopy) done at the same time 2 years ago and I believe he charged me $150.00 for both. Tats are VERY expensive and the more detail the more $$$.
I am seriousely considering adding "rails" to the Raptor tattoo as soon as I have the extra cash, or maybe a whole other CP tattoo! :)

I also have to agree with your comment about the Top 10 ranks. I was glad Nitro made it (sorry Maggie) but where was Raptor or even Talon? :( I havent been on Hulk but seemed an awful lot like Medusa or Batman Night Flight to me, JMHO

Geez I was getting scared for a minute... I thought I went from H-O-T to deranged within a matter of posts! Ha Ha! J/K

Actually, if anyone looked deranged it WAS me. Hey, I even admitted to us being insane... it came just before the close up ;-)

I thought the POV footage was crazy and I was laughing my butt off at everything. When Shaggy grabbed the camera and screamed into it I nearly pissed my pants.

Shaggy, I caught the "insane" part, and even agree. We are ALL nuts for being as obsessed as we are. Nothing like being truthful.

Not that it's do-able, but I would love to see a real coaster marathon...one that showed clips of all US coasters. By park, or alphabetically. Or better yet, spread it out through the winter with one hour a week devoted to coasters.

Jo (LuvRaptor): I thought Cedar Point employees weren't allowed to have tattoos? Or is that just tattoos that show to the general public? I have really been toying with the idea of getting a tatt for a while now, and it's just a matter of deciding on 1.) body location; and 2.) the type of tattoo. I was pretty run short on ideas for a while, but you have inspired me. The Raptor emblem and logo is THE BEST LOGO ever. They did a magnificent job with it.

Anyhow, I really agreed with you when you said Cedar Point was "my heaven on earth." I feel the same way! I live an hour and a half away and travel to heaven very frequently with whoever isn't sick of goin'!

I was also happy to see Holiday World(Being the small park that it is)I think small park America should be counted as well. For voing they take the big coasters.I think Discovery should research little park's coasters to.Some are better than the one's they choose for you to vote from.(i'd like to see a Top 20 or 30).I also enjoyed Shaggy i laughed like crazy.

The guy I "Liked" was the Millennium Force guy who said that the speed was faster than 94 mph. I guess it's possible to get tounge tied at the last moment when the camera is on you. Or maybe just plain excited. Why crack on the X Guy, he obviously likes the ride and had a great time.

BTW LuvRaptor you did a great job of acting excited, especially since you have ridden Magnum so many times. Good job. Last weekend my daughter and I rode Magnum. We found it to still be rough and don't care for how the lapbars are uncomfortable and have a tendency to rachet down on you.

Well at least the retracking on the Raven turned back into a sweet ride. Man is it smooth now. SRM will be a blast this weekend. The new trains on the Legend are awesome too.

Hope everybody is in shape for all of the steps on Zoombabwe. 115 after the initial incline up the hill and the few before you get to the place where you have to climb up.

A CP employee can have a tattoo (and MANY do) you just have to "hide" them from the general public. They sell stage makeup stuff that covers the exposed ones pretty well. The ones on my shoulders were obviousely hidden by my uniform sleeves. The CP one on my calf, although at 1st I would hide it with the make up, I started not even bothering with it. Basically it says "Cedar Point" and what better way to honor the park the to "advertise" it while I was working there too! As long as my team leader didn't say anything about it, (and his Odie tat always showed) I was set. I did show MANY Raptor riders my Raptor tat thought. I found it a great reply to the "so, do you like this ride?" question. I am still seriousely considering adding to my Raptor tat since it is my fav. I also liked showing "Yankees" (blech :() fans my NY Mets tattoo.
Cedar Po!nt is DEFINITELY my heaven on earth. (I was so happy when that line wasn't edited out!) and it is a 2.75 hour trip ONEway for me and I go at least 15x/season. Now THAT'S devotion! :)

Scooter:
Thanks for the compliment! I have to agree Maggie is a rough one, the producers asked me to try and sit "still" and I was like "yea, ok-obviousely you havent ridden this yet have you?" The hardest thing for me was to be careful of the mike that was stapped on my leg. Remembering Maggie's stats was thanks to having it written on my thigh with magic marker! The acting excited part was also a request by the producers. I was honored (estatic!) to be asked by CP to do the Maggie taping and I guess that's all that matters! Ya know I've ridden my beloved Raptor 558x so far and STILL scream like a Banshee ;) every time I ride it! Looks like I will definitely hit at least 600x before this season over!
