Son of Beast closes

I have not rode SOB but I agree with you about vertical loops and lap bars. That is the main reason I like Montezooma's Revenge so much and also why I wish SFMM would remove the OTSR's from Revolution.

From a purely selfish perspective I hope they reopen Sonny. Every person in line for it isn't in line for Diamondback. And anyone who's ridden Sonny probably won't be in front of me in any other lines that day. ;)

^As if Diamondback's queue isn't crowd averse already! How about the Invertigo or Drop Tower queue!!

I still contend SOB was running fabulously this year before the shutdown...granted only in red 1-2, but still fabulous!

I had a different experience, tig. SOB wasn't running fabulous for me when I rode it near the beginning of the season.

Even though it was seen running recently, I would be really happy to see the ride go...This coming from someone who feels extreme sadness anytime he sees a dilapidated ride or park.

I'd like to see SOB just so I could say I rode it.

Of course, I'd want to make sure my life insurance was paid up first.

Can anyone confirm if Son of Beast was seen Testing this week/last weekend? I have seen on different forums people saying they seen it.

Has anyone heard anything new about Son Of Beast? Has Cedar Fair decided to take that SOB down?

Well, if rumors are allowed, Dave Storm posted a possible retrofit/re-design forthcoming followed by PTC trains!

And just to follow up on Tig's statement. I heard it from what I consider to be a reliable source. That being said, it is still just a rumor and should only be given the credibility of such. IOW not much.

I myself would like to see the ride burn for hours. That way I can enjoy watching it.

If you blow it up, it's gone in just a seconds.

Based of what i've read on here it appears that Kings Island should do something similar to what BGE did with the BBW. The highest bidder gets to push the dynimite (or whatever they use) button; while everyone else who pays gets to watch the implosion. Nice way to make offseason money. :)
