Well according to Kings Islands twitter Son of Beast will be closed for the rest of the season and they will not decide what to do with it until the offseason.
Inspectors from the Ohio Department of Agriculture said they found no irregularities and declared the coaster safe.
But park officials said they were not satisfied with the ride experience and would decide what to do with the Son of Beast ride during the offseason.
I got my rides (with & without the loop) and I got my T-shirt. If SOB is to RIP then so be it.
Before you can be older and wiser you first have to be young and stupid.
Now, now.
What would all of you do if they tore down son of beast?
I guess you would move on to mean streak....lol
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Can anybody here make an accurate estimate of the cost to remove Son of Beast? I recall reading that its treated lumber is expensive to get rid of.
I'm curious to know if the price tag to remove it is cost prohibitive.
Well let's see.
A few gallons of gas......$5.75
A box of matches..........$1.00
For a grand total of.......$6.75.
So I think it is within the budget.

Lol, crazy horse.
I like the idea of reusing the wood for another coaster. They'd have to be carefully pull out each nail with a hammer, but in the long run, it'd be worth it. ;)

Naw. Let's have some fun.
Let's let Mythbusters test a few coaster myths and urban ledgends, THEN blow it up.
Think of all the publicty KI and CF would get.

They could pull a "death of oceanview park" move on it.

edited cause Moosh doesn't have any work to do today... ;) :)
Actually it's the busiest day of our magazine's 2-week production cycle...I'm swamped (but multitasking)!
Moosh, i'm not old enough to have seen that movie. I was only born in '82.

^^Except the park already has a classic out-and-back wooden coaster...which would only be about 200 yards away.

Best idea I've heard yet!
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Thank you!
They've probably had a few about how removing one or two boards would cause the whole ride to fail.
Come to think of it, isn't the ride one big pile of FAIL already?

If you are pregnant, suffer from high blood pressure etcc you are warned to not ride any coasters. So, these same people decide to take a risk like they do with there health and again we all suffer. There was nothing wrong with son of beast,, there is a lot wrong with people either looking to leach money off Kings Island with a pre existent medical condition. So the 999.9 percent of eveyone else cannot enjoy thrill rides, Cedar Fair should have people sign a waiver where they cannot recieve a penny if they are injured because they are unhealthy to begin with, and should not be on the ride.Should we stop building trucks because they ride ruff and if someone hits a bump they could die,,, where is it going to end,,, when I skydive I sign a waiver,, cedar fair needs to reject these people who refuse to follow there doctors instructions and end up hurt. In the end the really fun coasters like son of beast and the beast itself will be dismantled to appease the minority of people who cannot ride them and by all means should not. I have seen pregnant women try to ride coasters when clearly they should not, then abuse operators of the ride because they did not get there way. I mean so much for there kids safety,,,right... millions have enjoyed son of beast with no problems,, give me a break. tear it down ,,no no no...Reject admission to rides, or sign waivers where if they are hurt from pre-existent medical conditions they recieve nothing ,,,yes yes yes.. If you go to a Baseball game and get hit with a ball they dont tear down the stadium. In conclusion if you have heart problems ,,pregnant ,,etcc stay off the ride!!!!!!!!Because of a few we all suffer again!!!!!!!!!!If you cross a road when the traffic light is red and get hit do we junk all cars because you did not follow instructions? Give me a break!!!!
