Six Flags New England 2011

Yea we were suppose to get a eurofighter but the new POS management cancelled it and we are getting SFKK POS mouse that was suppose to go to TGE! This just shows how incompetant the new management team is!!!

If I were the management then wait til 2012 to give SFNE the euro-fighter instead of giving us a leftover mouse coaster

How does that show it's incompetence? The company just came out of bankruptcy, it looks to me like they're putting a Eurofighter in at a park that makes money, they're putting a mouse that is already paid for in to a smaller park that was supposed to get a mouse a few years ago, and they're being very cautious with their money.

Sorry that you didn't get what you want, but with a hard economy, and at least 4 parks adding coasters next year, I'd say Six Flags is doing what they should be doing.

Have either of you even ridden SFKK's mouse?

Thats a poor excuse that doesnt seem to be stopping them from raising the hell out of the prices on there crappy food. It also hasnt stopped CF from adding big rides to their parks and their in worse shape Debt wise than SF is. Oh and yes i have ridden the mouse from SFKK and its a pos just like all the other ones out there.

How is this saving them money? It costs alot more to move a ride than it does to buy a new one. They have to pay someone to take it down, then ship it, get it painted, and put it back up!

SFNE deserves better than a leftover mouse coaster if they were originally planning to add a eurofighter all I'm saying is that they should wait another year or two to add it when they have more money to spend instead of using some of the valuable space SFNE has left with a wild mouse. I think it would be better for the future of the park to install a eurofighter in the next couple years over a wild mouse that was a backup plan due to a sour economy, thats my opinion and you have yours but obviously you don't live near SFNE . Wouldn't you have been disapointed if it were your home park or atleast let down?

And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? If I'm in debt, I'm certainly going to raise prices to cover the debt. That doesn't have anythign to do with moving a mouse to SFNE.

And your opinion is yours, I'm happy that SFNE is getting this mouse, because I really liked it, and it seems to me that since they're such a hit any numerous other parks, SFNE's will be a hit too.

You don't know for 100% certainty that they were planning a Eurofighter, and the park isn't a person, it doesn't deserve anything. And on that note 100% of non-enthusiasts won't care, nor did they know if the park was going to get a Eurofighter.

all I'm saying is that they should wait another year or two to add it when they have more money to spend instead of using some of the valuable space SFNE has left with a wild mouse.

Why would they wait and add it later when they have the money budgeted for it now? That makes no sense.

I think it would be better for the future of the park to install a eurofighter in the next couple years over a wild mouse that was a backup plan due to a sour economy,

Who's to say they won't add in a Eurofighter later when the economy is better? Just because they're adding a mouse doesn't mean they can't have a Eurofighter too. Heck, SFGAm has 2 mice...

thats my opinion and you have yours but obviously you don't live near SFNE .

Which has zero to do with anything. You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm just pointing out that the reasons behind managements werent' to screw ya'll out of a supposedly planned Eurofighter. It's a buisness, not a charity.

Wouldn't you have been disapointed if it were your home park or atleast let down?

Not at all. I wasn't disappointed when Carowinds got a mouse, I like it. When I heard a rumor that Carowinds was supposed to get Flight of Fear, and then they didn't, I wasn't disappointed because it was never announced.

I was, however, disappointed that Hersheypark didn't get Turbulence, because they actually announced and then canceled it.

SFNE never promised anyone they were getting a Eurofighter, and then yanked that in favor of a mouse. In fact, they haven't even 100% confirmed it is a mouse.

They are raising prices in the wrong place! Their seasonpasses are way to low and thats where their incompetance is showing. How about raising the price of those along the lines with CF and pricing the food lower. #1 rule in business is to keep the customer happy and to spend money to make money.

Tekwardo's avatar

OMG.

They are spending money to make money. They're paying to move a mouse from one park to another :).

As far as the season pass issue, the CEO and COO have been in their respective positions for only a few months. I've read from multiple sites that season pass pricing has already been addressed and will be raised soon.

You can't claime incompetence when someone hasn't even had time to be incompetent at their job.

And just an FYI, apparently the customers are much happier, or at least thats what many news outlets reported, by showing that customer satisfaction is up at the SF parks since Snyder and Shapiro took over. I've yet to see anything say that it's dropping drastically under the new guys...

Who are spending money to add at least 4 coasters at 4 parks next year :).

Im willing to bet right now that this new management run SF into the ground alot faster than Burke did amd will be back in Debt faster.

Tekwardo's avatar

How much do you want to bet? I'll take you up on that. They're already saving money by not throwing out Eurofighters to every park, being smart, and relocating 3 out of 4 new coasters for next year, thus saving money.

What are they doing that's so bad? I mean, besides not give SFNE what you wanted.

See, I'd be willing to bet that the people running the company now know a lot more about how to do it successfully than you do.

I thoroughly enjoy the mouse coaster that was formerly at SFKK... just sayin'.

Greg P's avatar

Tekwardo, since your going to SFNE this weekend take a look around then Look at the coaster line-up at Carowinds and compare it SFNE and then find some space at SFNE is big enough to put eurofighter or any coaster bigger than a mouse/spinner? SFNE has very limited land to work with to add major additions, half their land is occupied by the waterpark. btw I'm fine with the management saving money or whatever its just space is an issue at the park and I'd rather see it go towards something more thrilling than a mouse.

The new execs at SF beat up my kids...

...and they gave SFNE a recycled mouse.

Bastards.

I would be glad that they are adding anything... seriously.

Gonch, sorry to hear about your kids...

I can do that before I go. SFNE has what is highly regarded as one of the best hyper coasters ever. Sure, we got a new Beemer, but I much prefer Intamin hypers to B&M, so +1 for SFNE. But that doesn't matter. I still wouldn't be disappointed with a mouse coming to my home park, and wasn't when it did. Carowinds has, IMO, 3 good coasters (one is the mouse), 2 decent coasters, and then crap. I wont' know how SFNE's coaster collection compares, but the only thing there I know I'll likely not be thrilled about is the SLC.

and then find some space at SFNE is big enough to put eurofighter or any coaster bigger than a mouse/spinner? SFNE has very limited land to work with to add major additions,

Maybe the lack of space, and the fact that they already had a small space built for a mouse is the reason it went in there. Be glad it's going there, and they're not using up any other land they have to put it in (if it goes there), thus wasting the space it could have went, and using up precious other land.

And by the way, I had Camden park for my home park on and off for almost 30 years, with no other coaster closer than 4 hours. Have that and then complain about SFNE getting a mouse...

All I need to hear now is that they hate babies and I'll begin pulling my resume together.
