And I'd do it to any kid any age that was line jumping.
If I'm having an experience I've invested in ruined by someone of any age, I will not hesitate to stop those ruining my experience.
I went to see "The Village" yesterday. There was an entire line of kids down close to the front. They talked during the first 10 min. of the movie. I used to work in a movie theater, and have no problem telling people to shut up. I didn't pay $7 to hear them talk the whole 2 hours. I told them to shut up and they did. I enjoyed the rest of the movie.
You may say I was wrong, but I paid money to watch, and I didn't have to leave the theater and miss any of the movie by going and getting an usher. Everyone else applauded me.
These kids looked between 10-13 years old, but that didn't stop me. *** Edited 8/11/2004 5:18:28 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***
What? Sorry, its 4 in the morning...but what are you talking about?
I totally understand Tekno, I would of done the same thing if people were bothering me. But telling an 8 year old to stop talking during a movie, and physically harming one is a whole different story.
Now I suppose lineblocking is ok. I would also stop line jumpers of any age, unless, of course, it was like Pamela Anderson or something. ;) *** Edited 8/11/2004 9:00:46 AM UTC by Kyle Fobe***

Oh, and Kyle, that was an Olivia Newton John song from WAY back in the day....watch VH1's "I love the 80s" if you really NEED to revisit a decade that I for one am glad is long gone...
P.S. You should only be allowed to poach if you're more than 1,000 miles from home...;)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
If I find the number to be an odd amount on 2 seater coasters, I try to ask who is the other Single Rider in front of me, When I find that Single Rider I ask can I ride with them. If He or She wants to ride with me I usually give them the choice on which side they want to sit on because they were ahead of me in line the whole time and I don't really want to get to take a seat someone wants when they been waiting for it longer than I have.
On the 4 wide B&M or Vekoma coasters (or whatever) I usually wait for the seats to load in front of me and If I find that they is a spot for me to get in I ask the people in front of me if I can cut in so I can get on this train. I usally never have trouble with this.
Other cases that might work with everyone here while waiting in a long line for a coaster there tends to be better luck with wave byes (People letting you cut in front of them so they can ride on the same train with their group) in the rows next to the front or back seats. I have sometimes had wave byes in the line in front and back seats at some family parks like SDC. For Example at Fire in the Hole the ride ops there announce that the ride will only allow 2 riders per row that if your a large group wanting to ride Together on the same train to tell him, and then He'll help you with waving by some people so you can get on the same train. Sometime that tend to back fire and the trains tend to be dispatched with empty seats, usually because of the amount of groups wanting to ride on the same train with each other.
Now about Poaching. Whenever I do it is when the ride ops say that if you can find an empty seat you can fill it. The ones that let you do usually only let you do it when they know that there isn't gonna be anyone left out trying to get back on. If he or she thinks that there is gonna be people left out not being able to get right back on, then he or she will make everyone walk around and reenter the line at the end. Now there were other times when I seen were people get left out and I know that was a big mess and it does slow the operation of the ride down a lot when they try to get them off the platform.
On closing as the topic say at the end. I like to comment on the Side of Fries. I love the ones at Kennywood, but beware WOF doesn't have good fries at all (except for the BBQ Restaurant by the Train Depot and at the Stand by the Thunder Hawk. The Stand by the Thunder Hawk feature similar fries you find by the Gemini at CP).

I do agree with the 1,000 mile away rule. I hate travelling far distances and only getting 1 ride on a coaster I have been waiting all summer to ride! ;)

Gator you and I are of the same generation, we were both teenagers in the 80's. Some of my best memories occured in the 80's. What's wrong with the 80's?
Back on subject.... Op encouraged poaching is not poaching in my opinion. But if the Franzia(wine bag ;) ) kid wanted to ride alone, let him. But my thought on an 8 year old is mom or dad SHOULD have waited with him, then stepped through the train after he was loaded. 8 is a little too young to wait all through the line and ride with no supervision. Just my opinion!
Just a couple of G-Force junkies!

Well, Clint covered most of it....and the rest of it musically speaking, I couldn't really *complain* about without risk of offending two great friends in Dawn and Tina...;)
Seriously, if you *like* 80s music, GO to Magic Springs...myself, I think I heard about three songs all day there that *I* enjoyed, while Tina was having some sort of nostalgia-induced bliss...
BTW, can you two get separate accounts, not quite sure WHO I'm addressing, ROFL...;)
Edit: honestly, if it weren't for both puberty AND Nancy Ray-gun (along with the birth of supply-side voodoonomics), the 80s might be a more fond memory for me...
