Should CP's next coaster be wood?

Seems to me it would make more sense to have someone like Gravity Group for one example, let loose on Mean Streak.

CBCon Quote "We didn't even get wet"......30 seconds later you hear plop, then splash!!!!

I would like to see a GOOD woodie at the Point, not necessarily a record breaker. As for an earlier comment that corporate parks wouldn't go for innovative, terrain huggin woodies, what terrain at the Point would you hug?

There will be another woodie at the Point and I suspect you won't have to wait terribly long to ride it/them.

If CP were to build a wooden coaster, it would have to be something spectacular. They already have an out-and-back, a mega disaster, and the racing Gemini that most of the GP thinks is a woodie anyway. It would need a loop (perhaps more than one), or have to go above 200 feet. Or both.

Don't forget to vote for your favorite steel coasters @ http://www.geocities.com/wcoasterpoll - the polls are open until December 15th!

I think CP's goal is to have diversity. So, they have pretty much every coaster type there. They definately have enough wood coasters. They have inverted, standup, hyper, suspended, bobsled, impulse, and wood. IMO, I think they're next coaster which will probably not be any time soon, will be either flying or floorless.

Not to mention CC:MR--of which the GP has the same opinion, steel rails or not.

wahoo skipper: Oh come on...you know what I'm sayin'. You can't expect them to do what the small parks do. When we bang our knees repeatedly on a lapbar from truly violent air, we say "Wow!" At the publicly traded parks, people say "Owie!" and some opportunistic attorney says "Lawsuit!"

CP diversity! They have 2 hypers and 2 launched (well soon) anyways and most of the old coasters are Arrow and all seem the same. I think CP has bad diversification(sp?). I think PKI has a better diverse mixup of coasters and thrill rides even though not as many.

It's Giant, it's Inverted, it's a Boomerang, Beeyatch!

If they build wood I would like to see it out on MF island. Have it going over and under the MF track. It would just add to the thrill of those two rides. Just think, standing in line for the new wood and then ...boom... MF just bursts through the wood supports and then turns and goes back in. It would really create an awsome experience on MF during that turn around.

Wood Rules!

What is the other launched beside Dragster

Theater announcer: With our lead actor out with a cold and his understudy hit by a car, the role of 'CP Fanboy' will be played by Captain Obvious. I'm afraid it will be a somewhat improvisational role. Ahem, ahem.

I like PKI a lot, but it still has a half of a cloned inverted coaster, scraps of a standup coaster, an Arrow multilooper they should have torn down instead and woodies that kill way too many trees to deliver half the thrills of a good 70-120 foot CCI.

Both lineups have their strengths and weaknesses. I believe the subject here is 'should CP get more wood', not 'CP lovers and haters.' Thanks for playing.

If it were up to me, every park's new coaster would be wood.* I don't see it happening, though.

*Yeah, a few more Arrow 4D's and Intiman hyper's would be nice too, I suppose.

Just stick variation of CornBall Express inside of MeanStreak so you would have two coasters to watch while queueing. Heck you could proabably fit a CE clone in there with very little effort. Call it Parasite: The Ride, or Tapeworm.
CP should contact SFGAm for the Viper design. IMO, that coaster should be cloned everywhere.

(Hmmm....he couldn't possibly know Viper's an clone variant of the Coney Island Cyclone. Should I tell him? Nahhhhh.)

I think that if they get a a woodie it will have to crush SOBs stats and have a loop and a cobra roll

I don't want any loopy, bigger than your's woodie. I want a good, three train woodie twister that delivers a good ride. It doesn't have to be massive.
I agree with Smells Like Teen Spirit, if CP does get any new wood it will have to break some records. Probably at least 5 records if they follow their latest trends. I do believe that a woody is in the near future for CP. Either that or a B&M flyer to up SFWOA's X-Flight. A floorless is also a possibility if it is the worlds tallest. I am still hoping for wood though.
Yeah! I won't ride it unless it breaks *AT LEAST* five records! It had *BETTER* be the tallest, fastestl, longest, loopiest wooden coaster with the loudest chain dog and the curviest queue *EVER* *IN* *THE* *WORLD.*
