SFMM 2006 B&M track parts have arrived on-site

If you're sitting at a desk doing a math problem, that's only .3 million less.

If you're running a business, that's THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND fewer people.

Multiply that by even a heavily discounted admission--hey, let's say $15. Let's even say they only drink water and eat their own picnic lunches. Each and every one of them. Doesn't happen, but let's just say it does.

That's 4 and a half million missing dollars a year.

Not exactly 'around' three million in real life, is it?

If you're not getting paid to do any of that, Antuan, you say 'around 3 million' when the . whatever is above 5...

I knew what you ment, Antuan. I comprehend things.

i wanted to express my concearns to guest services a few years back but I didn't want to wait 45 minutes to do so...

they should have offered a fast lane for that, too!

I believe 2.7 is around 3 million.

This from the man who tells girls "6 inches is around 9 inches...."

Sorry Tek...couldn't resist teasin' ya ;)

Of course, context always affects the meaning.
The question wasn't really whether or not SFMM's attendance is 'around' three million as much as whether or not their attendance was suffering or steady.

Seeing that the 2004 estimate of 2.7 million was down 300,000 people from the 2003 estimate of 3 million, I believe we have an actual answer to the real question.

It did not remain steady. It dropped.

That's what he really 'ment.'

Tek, I wasnt sure of the exact number. Be that as it may, every Tom, Dick and Harry has their own attendance numbers. I have seen three different lists for 2004 attendance and none of them were congruent.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

The Boston Globe quotes Amusement Business as their source. Of course, since SF doesn't publicize their individual park attendance figures, your mileage may vary.

It appears the 2003 estimates indicate a two-percent drop from the prior season. Considering they introduced a new B&M in '03, even that's a lot worse than it sounds.

I agree. Since when have B&M coasters been lousy? Despite all the b**ching and moaning that they are forceless cookie-cutter designs, I don't think B&M has ever designed a bad ride. Not every steel coaster has to generate as many forces as a Schwarzkopf, nor do they all need to boast 100% unique designs. Heck, many CCI coasters weren't tremendously unique from a layout standpoint.

I don't think anyone was implying that B&M's were ever lousy(although it's being argued in another thread), but they lost quite a bit of business to Intamin and CCI for a good while. The resurgence really just means 'full circle'.

"Fly at the Speed of Fear"

Could that be a possible Tagline?

How fast does fear go, exactly? I hope to God that's not it.

Spill Legendary! :)

I don't know why I'm excited about this. I've never been to SFMM and probably won't for some time. I guess the idea of an original B&M Flyer is just really exciting.

ewwwww, another lame name... groady to the Max! *** Edited 9/9/2005 7:13:29 AM UTC by DWeaver***

If they're keeping the Asian theming at the top of the mountain: Kamikaze ;)
Zero Hour? ;)

Flight of the Dragon?

Watch the tram car please....
I was throwing around the idea of Brushfire on another forum and I think it would fit quite well. The track colors are fire-related and a brushfire and this new Flyer have many things in common. It'll be fast, swift, unpredictable, and will spread across the mountainside very quickly ;)
I'm going with SuperDuperMan: Ultimate, Ultimate Flight
For Shame, Dragonoffrost!
