SFKK question

^I thought it was already confirmed that Hellevator was becoming Superman: Tower of Power. It was plastered all over Lance Hart's site (Screamscape)
it probally was i haven't really looked too much into anything yet still got awhile to go before it all opens anyways
Yeah it's been confirmed that Hellevator will now be Superman: Tower of Power.

18 wheels, and they all missed
What are they removing to make the waterpark 15% bigger?

I still stand behind my "Remove the SLC and expand the water park" idea. That would be at least 15%, right?

With Hellavator turning into Superman: Tower of Power will T2 now become Batman?

^ I certainly hope so, I'm sure Sharpiro thought of that as he toured the park. They would be crazy not to do that.

Of course, I would love to have SFNO's Batman planted at SFKK and T2 sent back to Vekoma for some serious re-engineering.

I really hate SLCs being called Batman The Ride. If you've ever been to any of the big Six Flags, you've ridden Batman the Ride. People might actually step onto BTSLC expecting BTR. They would step off incredibly disappointed and possibly angry. Nobody wants angry Kentuckians running around, I tell ya what.
One of the things I thought was neat about Batman the Ride at SFGAm was the theming. You can't have much theming where T2 is now. Kind of hard to add a cave and a run down street scene and such.

Well the public doesn't really care Vincent so if SF were to retheme/rename T2 it would be their call to make, not the GP's as the GP will still ride the thing.

The vast majority of the GP wouldn't have any idea.

Does the same theory apply to Paramount's (yeah, yeah, Cedar Fair's) Vortex or Top Gun coasters? Or Disney's Space Mountains? *** Edited 1/7/2007 10:46:15 PM UTC by matt.***

Are any of those nearly as ubiquitous as BTR?

No. Also, there are real BTRs in Georgia and Illinois, which are both logical destinations for GP from Kentucky. Surely, there'd be quite alot of people who'd know.

Isn't there a SLC in Six Flags Mexico that is called Batman: The Ride?

Top Three Parks: 1) Islands of Adventure 2) Bucsh Gardens Europe 3) Six Flags Magic Mountain
I believe I read somewhere that T2 was almost renamed Batman, but for legal reasons having to do with Vekoma, the ride's manufacturer, they had to keep the original name. Not sure if that still stands or not.

Personally, I think the ride's a piece of junk and should just be removed from the park.

Quite a lot as in....what? 100? 1000? 10,000? And these people would actually ride T2 (now B:TR), expect it to be just like the B&M versions (not that the public knows what a B&M is, per se) and then be so sorely disappointed it would somehow effect the park's bottom line?

I'm sorry but I think you're thinking about this way too hard. There's a large group of people who've ridden T2 who probably didn't even realize it went upside down until it actually happened.

Man, I didn't know that the whole T2 into Batman the Ride thing would hit such a nerve.

I doubt the Gotham City theme will come soon. Chang just got a paint job last year so i doubt the park would change the theme to Riddler or Mr. Freeze or anything.

But Chang could be turned into B:TR, and T2 could recieve the paint and theme change...(it really needs it)

Way back when Six Flags purchased the park they were going to rename Chang (Joker's Jinx) and T2 (BTR). That's why the colors for the rides were changed. At the last minute park management decided to keep the names because they are unique. SFKK seems to like "unique" because that is their reason for keeping T2. Every other SLC has the improvements that weren't available for T2, so SFKK (or atleast the important people) want to keep it in the park. I guess they are going for the history. "Come ride the little inverted coaster that couldn't. Once you do, you'll remember the park for it!" This ride will be around for several more years.

I'm probably the only person that actually likes T2. Besides it makes all the other coasters at the park feel baby bottom smooth! :)

More false information. The reasons for the name changes are more technical than that.

What's the latest on the color changes to Hellevator? I'm not sure I remember if SF made an announcement about changing the name to Superman TOP or what.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
