SFKK posts hint for 2005...

Mamoosh's avatar
I thought it had something to do with that, but how does that relate to my post?

It doesn't. It relates to all the posts before it by people who related what they saw when they were at SFKK -- as in "this one time, at SFKK, I saw this ride op sleeping...."

I was trying to be funny but I haven't had much luck with humor today [especially over at RRC].

mOOSHie

After seeing him asleep I went and got a ride on the Giant Wheel (the ride he was at) and I asked the ride op about him if he was on break or something and she said that he was not on break but was supposed to be one of the 2 ride ops working on the unload side. So yes he was on the clock and unconsious.

Hey Paul, that's not infomation we offer to guest. Nice try buddy. Speaking of Ops breaking rules, how about you taking a camra on every ride you get on?

I'm impressed that they had two ops working unload. Besides looking unprofessional, what's wrong with this guy doing this? Was there anyone even on the wheel at this time? Is the wheel suddenly going to run down the street and try to hitch a ride to HW or PKI where it would be treated better and this op is going to have to run after it? Did you try to wake him up? Was he really even asleep? Did you tell GR? I'm going to guess no since you didn't have some random complaint about what GR didn't do about it. Doesn't sound like the park was too busy at all.

Btw, my above post wasn't necessarily about SFKK or it's employees...

Fatguy you'd be surprised what people will tell you if you ask the right questions. That's how I succeed in sales because if you ask the right questions anyone will tell you how to sell them or anything else for that matter.

About my camera on rides where it is prohibited it sits in my fanny pack in the station and on rides where it is allowed I still respectfully ask permission especially after the events of 2003 so where do you have any ground to *****? Oh, I know you'll jump on my on ride shots from years ago but I have seen the light and only bring a camera on when permitted.

Also just a quick question but does SFKK give their employees (especially ride ops) permission to post about their park as well as represent it on web boards? I know of many parks that restrict their employees from speaking about their parks or representing them as you are because they have a department, namely Public Relations to deal with the public. That's kind of standard not just in the amusement park world but in other business because they'd rather keep their practices away from the competition or press.

All you are doing here is *****ing about and attacking the people who are your customers which I'm certain Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is grateful for.

Fatguy619: Alienating Six Flags Customers (those that are left that is) one person at a time.

Have fun and keep up the good work, I'm certain that Six Flags is pleased.

I did in fact go to GR and mention it to them. As one of their customers I felt it my duty. Actually GR was extremely polite and professional and made sure to ask me when it happened and where and took down the info that I gave them. They apologized to me and thanked me for letting them know. SFKK's Guest Relations department have always been top notch whenever I have been to the park.

I'm glad you told them and I'm really happy you had a good experience with guest relations as well. I would hope you mentioned the graffiti and all to them as well. If they don't know about it, they can't do anything about it. I'm sure some of the seasonals don't care enough or don't visit every tub to see what has happened in them. Maybe they do or someone else does.

Paul is fair in his reporting of what he sees during his SFKK visits [and visits to other parks, too].

I must say I'm quite disappointed at how this turned into a personal fight rather than a discussion. What's even more annoying is that this has nothing to do with the topic. For heaven's sake, you are all a bunch of grown men and this is how you conduct yourself? I go to websites where kids half the age of some of you conduct themselves better.

I agree w/ sirloindude, lets get this back on topic. here are the options for what the announcement is 1. waterpark overhaul, 2 slide similar to zinga, 3. new flat ride, possibly a huss giant, 4. new coaster, 5. combo 1 and 2. If it is a new coaster, a great idea would be to use the land behind T2 and dig a trench or ravine and burry the ride similar to Nemesis at Alton Towers. This would deal with the pesky height restiction (airport accross the highway) and be intense. Imagine a floorless terrain coaster or an Intamin speed/terrain coaster. *** Edited 11/19/2004 9:23:24 AM UTC by metallgamer*** *** Edited 11/19/2004 9:25:21 AM UTC by metallgamer***

I bet the constant bad weather that hangs over Six Flags facilities has something to do with his mood. ;)

sirloindude said: SFA is downright horrible, but like I said earlier, PG County isn't exactly the finest area in the state of Maryland.

I let it slide once, but I *will not* let a bullsh!t claim like that fly twice. You better qualify that statement there with some facts. There is nothing wrong with the residents of PG county (okay, their government sucks, but the residents not so much). What *exactly* makes you think that PG is so bad? I have a ton on family/friends that live there and I would have moved there too if not for the aforementioned sucky government. I challenge you to defend your (now repeated) claim.

Okay, okay, sorry. I just meant that the clientel that SFA attracts has had a tendency to break rules far more often than most parks, I imagine partly because they know that odds are in their favor that they'll get away with it. I'm NOT, and I repeat, NOT being racist or anything like that. I am truly sorry if I offended anyone and will proceed to remove that from the post, as well as the one where I made that claim the first time. However, I will say I've lived in PG County all my life, and so many parts of it seem run down. Also, the school system is a joke. Two of my cousins and alot of my friends go or have gone there and they all said it was downright horrible. I know people who are slightly afraid to enter some of the high schools as well. There is the basis for my claim, but I do apologize to those I offended. *** Edited 11/19/2004 4:36:20 PM UTC by sirloindude***

Shouldn't it be against ToS to try to beat the sensors by using symbols? Sh!t is no better than the actual word being spelled out.

Tom - Who actually couldn't care less about sensors, but just thinks it is hypocritical.

^that's not always the case Sirloindude.

There are some days where SFA,or any park for that matter can draw a rowdy crowd & others where you won't even see any real bad cases of fighting or line jumping it just depends on when you go that's all.

Every park has it's share of "bad clientle" every now & then & of course there's always gonna be someone less civilised then the majority who may think that he/she is above everyone else in the place & deserves to get to the front of the line without waiting their turn, judging by your sig it seems like you spend most of your time at SFOT so unless you are a frequent visitor to SFA,or any other parks aside from SFOT you really don't know first hand what things there are like on a day to day,or week to week basis when it comes to the type of clientle in the park.

Back on toic: my bets are still on SFKK recieving a proslide tornado,or if they're lucky a full rehab of their existing waterpark, their last coaster was in 03 & as we all know SF tends to wait a long while between coaster installations at this particular park.

It seems like 05 is the year of the waterpark with PGA,SFA,SFGRAM & SFKK all making waterpark installations/improvements for the upcoming season.

I took a trip to Texas. I live near SFA and I must have gone 15 or so times this year, and every time I went I could come up with some horrible problem. I didn't go looking for it, but when Superman_ride of Steel is closed on opening day, with the Joker's Jinx as well, it kind of says something. Most of my complaints were staff problems and line jumping. As for my signature, well, it only took one ride to prove to me that Titan was amazing.

I wholeheartedly agree with you that 2005 is the waterpark year. Let's hope it gives rise to yet another coaster boom. I sure like what the last one gave us.

The same constant weather that hangs over SF parks also must hang over other parks in the area, because many of them used it as an excuse too. You know, unless you want to use double standards and say it's ok for the other parks besides SF.

It was a joke.
sd: I will whole heartedly agree that the behavior of the visitors to SFA leave a lot to be desired. A large portion of that is home-training, but at least as much blame needs to be put on the (lack of) security. But one must remember that those vistors dont just come from PG County. They come from Mo County, Fairfax, Southeast DC, Richmond, B-more, etc.

BTW: I agree that PG schools stink. I attributte that again to their poor government ;)

Maybe some day PG County will be restored to glory. But this is all off-topic.

And I was telling you why I didn't think it worked or was funny for me. Unless it's funny that CF has/used to have a lot of bad wooden coasters that gave their guests bad moods... Which isn't funny because Paramount and SF have bad woodies too. Or something.

+Danny, don't take things so cerialously =p
